Girls Day ends with a trip to the ER

Well glad I set the expectations low for yesterday because it was a doozie of a day! It started out good.  Olivia ate breakfast and drank milk.  Then we got dressed and she had her snack.  We finished getting ready and were all set to go by new shoes.  We got about half way there and were stopped at a traffic light and then I heard it and saw it.... she threw up in the car.  Ugh so gross.  It was curdled milk...yuck!  So I pulled over and of course I had nothing to wipe it up with except tissues.  I ran into Auto Zone and the worker nicely gave me some paper towels.  I got her seat cleaned up and her mostly cleaned up and headed back home.  Oh yeah... I needed to stop for gas...First thing I did was take her temperature when I got back home... and no temp.  Got her cleaned up and put some new clothes on.  I changed my clothes and then since she was acting fine to go back to buy some shoes.

We went and bought shoes and stopped at Carters.  She grabbed her snack cup out of the diaper bag and munched on some snacks and drank some water.  When we got home I tried some lunch and she wasn't really interested.  I chalked it up to teething and that she ate a lot of her snacks.  We watched the first have the the UGA game...Go Dawgs... nice win over UB! She took a long nap... about 3 hours.  She didn't want much to eat for dinner....she ate some pudding and had some milk.  We did a little playing outside and she was still acting normal.  I took her temperature a million times yesterday.  She had some gross poops in that afternoon/evening to add to all the fun!

Brendon came home from dove hunting and then chaos just erupted.  I think Olivia got all confused since she didn't see him all day and got all upset.  So I told Brendon he was making things worse and just let me finish out normal routine.  I got her milk and she wasn't really interested but I got her to drink some.  Then I smelled the milk and it kinda smelled off and I had Brendon smell it and he thought it smelled ok. I just bought the milk Wednesday and it was dated for Sept 11th.  Well about 30 seconds after she drank the milk she threw up again! Aghhhh...yuck!  Got her cleaned up again and called the nurse line.  The nurse walked me through everything and all the warning signs of dehydration and recommended we try Pedialyte in one hour.  Off to the store went Brendon and of course she wouldn't drink it from the cup.  I tried a syringe of it and about 30 seconds she threw up again...more curdled milk.  Off to the ER we went.

Got to CHOA Egleston about 10:15ish and got checked in and back to the room.  Olivia was alert and responsive the whole time.  She was talking and only cried a little when they did her blood pressure and tried to give her a 1/2 of Zofran (not sure I spelled that right).  While we waited for the doctor they really wanted to get her to start getting some form of hydration.  We tried a popsicle...no.  We tried water from a sippy cup...no.  We tried Gatorade out of a juice box with straw...no.  We tried water out of a cup...got a few sips.  I had a bottle of water with me...got some sips out of there.  We kept her entertained with books and they brought us some crayons.  Finally the doctor came in and checked her out.  The doctor said it could be a stomach bug.  I told her about the milk and she said it could be that but not sure.  Her recommendation was to hydrate as much as possible and start the BRAT diet.  She said to offer her a sip of something....and they said anything...every 5 minutes.  Then they sent us home.  It was a pretty quick trip for a Saturday night and we got home about 12:30ish.  Olivia went right down.

But what a dramatic day!

Kicking off the first football Saturday with my UGA bib.
My second UGA onesie for the day!
YAY! Go Dawgs!
Ok this game is a blow out... playing with my blocks instead.

Hot Mess Kind of a Day!

I think those are the only 2 words to describe today! Olivia was a hot mess this afternoon.  She did not want to eat much today.  She gave Brendon a hard time at breakfast, and me a super hard time at lunch.  The only thing she did eat was yogurt.  She didn't even want to drink water from her cup.  So I put water in a regular cup and of course she would drink it from there but she got all wet too.   I figured after her nap she would be starving and thirsty- NOPE! I thought she would enjoy Pizza Party Friday and her favorite veggies... NOPE! So after dinner I decided to check her mouth.  I had little to no expectations of anything new being there.  But I was WRONG! The right molar broke through and I think the left one is too.  I need to try to check that one again but DEFINITELY the right one I felt! I was so excited! Finally a tooth after almost 5 LONG MONTHS! We are a slow go at the tooth business but I am sure it is going to bite us in the butt sooner than later!

My prediction for the weekend... Olivia will be a hot mess.

I won't drink from my cup but I will drink from yours!

Purple People Eater and Ketchup

Olivia tried ketchup today.  I guess we never really eat ketchup so at Susan's house today she tried it.  Guess what?? She loved it! She loved it so much it was all over her shirt! I guess the next time we have something that could use some ketchup she will have some.

She wore lots of purple today.  Even after I changed her out of her purple shirt with ketchup I put another purple shirt on.  We went to Kindermusik tonight and Olivia had so much fun.  I tried to practice Ms. Dana's name before class today and she said it a few times.  We played with beach balls, the parachute, bells, and our usual instruments at jam time.  I tried to get her to say,"Bye bye Ms. Dana."  Of course she wouldn't do it until we left and were outside. After class since we are both hungry we stopped at Subway again.  She ate pretty well too!

As soon as we got home we did a mini walk.  Then we went into the house and to her room and she went straight to her bookshelf.  Olivia just loves books! She can now identify the character of Olivia and will pull out all of the Olivia books!  Crazy!?!

Purple people eater!
I didn't even get my shoes off yet!!

Super Sleeper

Boy did Brendon get a treat this morning! Olivia slept until 8:30 a.m.! He is so lucky.  whenever I get up with her in the morning she is a early riser 7 a.m. or earlier.  Maybe she just knows that her daddy is tired in the morning and let him sleep in today. What a good daughter.

Olivia and I went to Gymboree.  We stopped at Kid to Kid before class to see if they had any cute Georgia apparel for this season.  I was disappointed they didn't have anything.  I did get a puzzle for Olivia for Christmas though.  We then went over to the mall for class.  We had such a fun time.  We saw the train in the mall before class started and she said, "Choo choo!" I think she really liked it because she said it a bunch afterwards.  Also at class today she saw Ms. Liz get the parachute out and ready and she said, "Parachute."  That surprised me and she only said it once so we will see if she says it again.

After class we came home and had some dinner. Olivia did not like her pasta tonight so I gave her a piece of toast and she ate that.  I thought the toast was better than nothing.  She ate some of the pasta and then just lost interest in it and started saying, "All done!" We didn't play outside today since I thought it was going to rain tonight...but it was super humid.  Olivia discovered some other things to play with tonight...see pictures below. We did have a surprise visitor and Kristy came over for a few minutes.  She is starting to feel better.

Her new favorite toys...Cheerios
Here Jake smell it
I want some! Let me see if I can open it.
Got it open..
Let me pull them out
Now I want to eat them...how come I can't get them out???

Hanging Out

Today I hung out with daddy most of the day.  We went to Gymboree and had lots of fun.  I like riding in his truck and saying,"Deer" when I see the deer sticker.  We came home and had lunch.  I didn't get to see mommy until after my nap and snack.  She had a meeting at work and decided since gas is so expensive just to stay the whole day at work.  When she came home she told me how much she missed me.  For dinner I tried something new... Chicken and Fried Rice.  I ate it up and had 3 animal crackers! My new thing is reading my Olivia books.  I like to get them off the bookshelf and read them.  I also like those books because I get to practice my name!! It was wet outside so mommy and I stayed inside. I think it is going to rain tomorrow too....boo I hate rain!

Practicing my typing skills and writing emails to my friends!
Hanging out and waiting for them to write me back!

Just Because Day

Pampers said it is Just Because Day... I love my little one just because... there are so many reasons I could list.  Olivia just makes my heart smile every day! It is so eye opening to watch her learn about the world around her.  It is amazing that she went from this teeny tiny baby to now taking up the whole changing table and trying to kick off the basket that holds the diapers! It is so crazy! But we just love her so much and I hope she knows that!

Brendon took on her on a trip to the pool store and Wal-Mart today.  I asked her if she had fun at Wal-Mart and she said, "No!" I guess she is a Target girl after all.  We have been working on signing some songs and have a little bit of Old MacDonald and Row, Row, Row your boat down...hopefully one day I will catch it on camera.  Olivia loves her Sesame Street characters.  Most of it comes from books that we have- thank you Target for having them for $1.00.  If I put the show on she likes to point at the characters at the beginning and gets all excited when Elmo appears. Other than that t.v. is just background noise for us.  But I caught her saying the characters names today on video! So cute!

We baked Kristy cookies this afternoon and took them over to her after dinner.  She had to have her appendix removed =( But she is feeling better.  We are glad that she is ok!! Olivia saw Kristy outside and said her name! She is getting much better at identifying people and remembering names.

While making cookies she took the Cheerios out of the cupboard and was carrying them around.  She even knows the green box is Cheerios too...can't fool this Cheerios lover!

Step Stool

Buying diapers does pay off.  Both Huggies and Pampers have little rewards programs with them.  After we finish a package of diapers we enter the codes and the points add up.  I ordered Olivia a few weeks ago a book that came with a doll for Christmas from Huggies.  They didn't even charge for shipping! Huggies did have a Winnie the Pooh step stool awhile ago and there is a matching potty seat. Then the step stool disappeared and I was sad because I had enough to buy the stool and potty seat. In my impatience I ordered the book and doll...but I could pass up on the book "Going on a Bear Hunt" with the matching bear! Then one day it reappeared and I was so mad! So I ordered the stool and now just need to save my points for the potty seat.

But the stool came at such a perfect time.  Olivia can step up on it and see herself in the bathroom mirror.  It also causes her to grab the stuff on the counter though  which is good and bad.  She seems to love it though! I think she likes to look at herself the most!

Also today she saw a picture of herself and pointed and said,"Livia."  Then tonight looking in the mirror in the "Pat the Bunny" book she pointed and said it again.  Slowly she is starting to realize herself as a person and say her name! Super Cute!!

We also got Olivia to say touchdown and move her arms today!! She is already to go for football on Saturday! Go Dawgs.... that is what we have to work on next!!

Blow dry and step stool fun!
What can I reach??
Look! I got the hairbrush!
