36th Birthday and Dance Recital

It was a crazy busy week...dance recital rehearsal, teacher appreciation week...the list goes on.

But Friday my room mom surprised me with some delicious donuts and gifts!
I could not refuse one of these...they were good...

Saturday morning I ran a 3.5 mile trail run at Harbins Park.  I was surprised at the end to see Wendy and Caren with a cupcake! I was so surprised to see them at the finish!! Such a surprise and way to start my birthday!

Then got home and relaxed for a bit and then got ready for Olivia's dance recital!

Her class was precious!

Shhh....secret video...

Later we went out for dinner and came home and had cake and presents!

Such a great day!!

Baby Birds

We get a birds nest every year under our outdoor sink. This year Olivia was really interested and we checked the nest every day.  Finally one day I heard the chirping and we checked and could see their beaks! Then on Sunday May 3rd the birds were really active and were hopping out of the nest in the little drawer of their nest coming to the edge and peeking at us.

Sadly on Monday May 4th we checked the nest and the birds were gone =( Olivia was so sad.  She still checked the nest hoping they would come back...but they didn't! But so cool to see her take interest in them!

Paint my nails

One random night Olivia asked me to paint her toe nails.  I think all the warm weather reminded her of summer.  So I started with her toes and then she decided she wanted her fingernails done too! I am the worst at painting nails but I tried my best!

Strawberry Picking!

I feel like we are the strawberry patch stalkers...we watch it ALL winter and then spring rolls around.  Driving past it daily, I feel we watch the strawberries grow and grow.  Then the magical day comes...when it opens.  We finally got over there on a Friday night about 6 pm.  It was not crazy busy so it was great.  Got our strawberries and came home.  We made strawberry pancakes for breakfast! Yummy!! I was impressed that Olivia actually ate the strawberries this year!!

Thank you Washington Farms for another year of great strawberries!!
