Getting Taller

Olivia told me all about her trip to Home Depot and getting measured and how tall she is getting! She is growing...seems like everyday she is getting bigger and bigger. 

Gymnastics...and getting in trouble

As a parent you know that your child is not perfect...tonight at gymnastics Olivia got in trouble! I could totally see her...it is clear glass...at one point she turned around and waved to me...such a stinker!!  She just kept bothering one little girl...I am not sure why but she was just acting silly with the girl but she wouldn't stop, first she had to move her colored square and sit somewhere else, and then she only got one stamp tonight....oh well...lesson learned! I told her that mommy could see her not being a good listener.  Her excuse, "I just didn't want to go on the high bars." Lovely....

Bad Cook and Fun

I admit it I am a bad cook.  I like to bake but cooking is not my forte at all.  It really stresses me out.  Out of all the things in my day dinner stresses me out.  Plus now working full time...total time crunch plus two nights a week there is dance and gymnastics so we have to hurry to eat.  So lots of friends have shared some good and easy recipes to try.  I know I don't need to cook every night so basically I cook (well at least try to) on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are leftovers and Friday is Pizza day!  I have tried doing some meal planning in advance so maybe that will help too! So great to have some friends that give great recipes and can empathize!

After dinner tonight we painted the bird house we got at Emma's party and played with some blocks.

Mommy don't go!

So the past few nights Olivia has said, "Mommy, don't go to school tomorrow! I want you in the bed with daddy when I wake up" (I know the 2nd part sounds bad but she just wants to find me sleeping in my bed when she wakes up.) I know this change is hard for her and when we are home at night I try to squeeze every moment of fun I can get.  Tonight we played Candy Land and did some fun pattern block stuff.  But I still feel guilty for leaving her every day.  I know she misses me and even today she said, "Did you miss me today?" I said "Of course! But I knew you were having so much fun with Susie!" But it will get better...but it just tugs at my heart every morning...especially this morning when that little face popped into the crack of the bathroom door!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Yesterday we celebrated Emma's 3rd birthday! We had such a great time!!  We went to the Eye Candy Art Studio in Duluth.  Olivia got to paint a plate and put her hand print on it.  Then we sang and had cupcakes.  After the party we changed and went to the fountain to cool off. It has been super HOT the past few days.  It felt so good to cool off and the kids had fun!
