Friday and Saturday

Friday and Saturday have been so much fun! Yesterday Kristy came and babysat me for awhile. I mostly slept while she was here but then she stayed and Mommy let me play with her. Mommy also tried to install the new car seat. She gave a good effort for an hour or so. She thought she had it and daddy checked it today and now it is not right again. Mommy said we are going to the sheriff's department on Monday to get it checked.

Today I tried a new food- sweet potatoes. This morning I did ok. I think I was tired so I cried after I was about 1/2 done. Then mommy fed them to me later and I ate 3 tablespoons of oatmeal with the sweet potatoes. I hardly got anything on my bib and ate it all up. Mommy calls me her little sweet potato now! I did a really good job playing today. I played on my tummy for long periods of time today- almost 30 minutes each time. I also learned how to stick my bum up in the air today. I also sat up for like 30 seconds on my Boppy Lounger until I fell over. It was fun. I was a good girl today. Believe it or not there was minimal crying and just a little bit of spit up today.

XOXO
Olivia

Mommy got it! I am sitting all by myself just for like 30 seconds but hey she got the shot!

Almost Terrific Thursday

Well today was almost terrific but Olivia decided that this afternoon she would only nap for an hour! That made for another LONG afternoon. After she had her cereal about 5:45 ish she decided to take a cat nap on me. Which is fine with me but now she is awfully heavy! I wish I would have been tired along with her to nap but I wasn't. So it was about 25 minutes of holding still. She woke up as happy as can be!

Not enough time

Not enough time for a blog today. It was a busy day that started at 4:45 a.m. and is now just ending...We used day care this morning and had Gymboree this afternoon. Olivia did not take a nap this afternoon so it was a very LONG afternoon until she went to bed and then lots to do around the house.

I did run across this on Facebook today. A friend from school posted it. It comes from a blog....

If you’ve ever:

…gotten a lump in your throat while you heard the heartbeat of your baby;

…unwrapped your newly swaddled baby, completely out of curiosity;

…held the feet of an infant to your lips;

…gotten tears on your baby’s head in the middle of the night while feeding him or her;

…been so tired you handed your spouse a sippy cup instead of a beer;

…researched the cure for croup, at 3 a.m.;

…picked a tiny nose with your pinky finger;

…stumbled over your words, as you explained something so very big to someone so very small;

…wished with all your might for moments forever lost in time;

…surprisingly realized there were tears on your cheeks;

…paced the halls of your home, mentally willing a fever to break;

…wondered how it was possible for a little person to eat so much;

…wondered how it was possible for a little person to eat so little;

…discussed growth spurts, cradle cap, and the color, consistency and smell of poop;

…were surprised at how long his little legs were getting as you re-tucked him in, before retiring for the night;

…felt warm vomit down your back as you try to calm your frightened child;

…laid awake and wondered if you could have done something better;

…heard 18 excuses why he doesn’t want to go to bed;

…bought them new shoes despite the fact you’ve had yours for 3 years running;

…baked 32 cupcakes at 10:30 at night;

(after doing a milk run in your pajamas);

…filled out a field trip form, only to worry about all the things that could go wrong;

…volunteered for that field trip to put your own mind at ease;

…stayed by the window after allowing her to bike to the variety store;

…talked candidly about sex and drugs, all the while nursing knots in your tummy;

…felt your heart soar along with his when he saved the game;

…been mad at someone else’s kid for hurting your kid’s feelings;

…taught them how to cook a meal/do a load of laundry/long division/anything, and somehow not ripped your hair out;

…been more excited than ever for Christmas morning, just to see their faces;

…spoiled them rotten when you got a few extra bucks;

…made her favorite meal, just because;

…tusseled his hair, and pulled him back for a kiss and a hug when he squirmed away;

…laid awake at night and willed time to slow down;

…thought you’d never, ever feel love like this – so raw and powerful – leaving you so very vulnerable…

…then you’re doing it right.

Trying to Sit

I REALLY want to sit up!! I am trying so hard every day. I can prop myself up pretty good on my bouncy seat and sit. I am also pretty good when I practice sitting with my mommy. Today I sat with my hands in front for like 5 seconds and then fell over. I also tried to sit up in my swing today- uh oh. Mommy said, "No Olivia! You can't sit like that in the swing." So I tried it again and again. I know it will happen some day and I have to keep practicing- just like rolling over. Now I love to roll.

Mommy also put this new thing in my crib. It is so I don't bump my head anymore but you can see through it. It was funny mommy had to bring the computer upstairs and watch a video of how to install the Breathable Bumper. I just laughed when she watched it. Silly mommy!

I also LOVE my exersaucer. It is so fun.

Tomorrow is Wednesday which means Gymboree. I am sure I will cry again. I always do. I don't know why but I do. I do LOVE the bubble though.

XOXO
Olivia

Meeting Peyton

Today we went to Dawn's house to meet Peyton. It was fun to have us all together with our babies! It was great to see each other and see all the babies. Peyton was so little compared to Olivia. I can't believe that Olivia was that size. It will be so much fun when our kids are bigger and they can all play together. I am so glad that Olivia will have such great playmates.

Brotherly Love

Lately Jake has been quite interested in Olivia and Olivia has been interested in Jake. I don't know if they both realized each other this week but there has been lots of love. Jake likes to lick Olivia's feet and check on her. He gets excited when she wakes up from a nap and will go in and peek in her crib. We are so happy that Jake loves her so much and accepts she is part of the family.

Today was a fun day. We went to church this morning and Olivia did a great job. No crying! Then I made lots of goodies today since we are going to meet Peyton tomorrow. Mom you would have been proud. Here is what I made- 2 pans of lasagna, pasta salad, and 2 batches of cream puffs. Thankfully Brendon was making dinner tonight. We had ribs, corn, and pasta salad. We also took Olivia in the pool today. She cried just a bit at first and then was fine. There was the usual playing, crying, and more hands in the mouth. I even gave her a teether today that had been in the fridge for awhile. She seemed ok with it. Oatmeal tonight was a hot mess as you can tell by the aftermath picture. All in all it was a good day.

We are just so excited to meet Peyton tomorrow. Karson will be there also. It will be fun to get a picture with all of us with our babies!

Some tummy time today after I rolled over =)

I love you Jake!

I love you Olivia!
