Valentine Party 2014

Today we celebrated Valentine's Day with our friends.  Can't believe this is our 3rd year celebrating together.  The kids had a blast playing with each other.  It was nice...the kids could play by themselves with us checking on them.  Lauren made a delicious brunch! It was so yummy!! We are so blessed to celebrate with our friends!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Olivia has been a little excited about Valentine's Day.  We have watched Charlie Brown's Valentine a billion times.  I asked her last night if she thought she would get a Valentine today and she said, "Yes!" When we woke up today I had her get Brendon's Valentines and she ran and got them and said, "Happy Valentine's Day!" So cute and sweet! We were able to spend this morning eating breakfast and having coffee.  Then I went to a consignment sale and Brendon took Olivia grocery shopping. Then we had lunch together and checked out some of the stuff from the sale...some stuff is saved for birthday and Christmas.  Then it was nap time.  After nap time we visited with Olivia's godparents for a bit and they made us some yummy treats! Then Olivia and I had a romantic dinner of leftovers in her tent.  The night ended with Your in Love Charlie Brown movie and 3 Valentine books.

A great day overall! No need to fight the crowds at restaurants...Valentine's Day should be celebrated every day.  If we love the person why wait for a special day to celebrate...we should celebrate love every day!

Probably my favorite love quote and from our wedding!

Storm Day #2

Today we woke up with more snow on top of the snow and ice we got yesterday.

After breakfast Olivia watched one of her shows and then we went outside and started shoveling again.  By this time the sun was coming out so it helped to start the melting process.  Brendon pulled out the boogie board and pulled Olivia around on that and then back to shoveling.  Then they went for a walk in the woods and made a snowman. I kept on shoveling!

After lunch and nap time, I set up Olivia's little tent we have.  At first she didn't like it but then loved it.  We put pillows and blankets in there and lots of books.  She played in there all afternoon- we even ate dinner in there!

We have no school again tomorrow....time to go rewrite my lessons plans again!

Storm Day #1

Well we survived the ice storm day 1.  Did lots of prep yesterday and thankfully we didn't lose power.  Brendon came home last night at 2 a.m. and I was so happy and felt relieved that I didn't have to weather this storm all by myself.  It was very icy when we woke up.  I went out about 10 am and started shoveling.  Thanks Mom and Bill for the snow shovel! It worked great.  You never realize how long your driveway is until you have to shovel.  I got a good amount of snow off and then worked on the ice.  It looked good until this afternoon and more snow/ice came.  Not much excitement around the house...lots of playing, a little bit of dancing, and good lunch and dinner!

Olivia wanted to play in Jake's crate today...!

Storm Prep

We were off of school for the impending storm that is coming.  Nothing major today except rain here.  Some other parts of Georgia got some snow but all we got was rain.  If it was up to me- we should have went to school.  But I tried to enjoy my extra time at home.  Got some things cleaned up and got stuff ready for the storm...lots of things charged, lots of supplies ready.  Just really nervous about the power going out and nervous about Brendon getting home...if he gets to come home! But we are hunkering down because the worst is coming tonight...so say a few prayers that we stay safe.

Here is what it looked like most of the day...

Gymnastics Week 2 and Picky Eater Update #2

Tonight was week 2 of gymnastics...I was a bit worried because Olivia did not seem happy about going. We got ready after dinner and went.  She did fine.  She is scared of the trampoline but once I got on it with her she was fine! Then we did lots of somersaults and she can almost do one on her own.  So she was excited.  She was sad that we didn't do the bars tonight...maybe next week.  But she did pretty good...a few of the other kids were crying but Olivia did not.

We have been doing much better with our dinner eating. Last night was probably the worst out of the whole week but she still ate most of her dinner about 90%.  Tonight she ate taco seasoned meat with rice, corn, a yogurt and 1/4 of tortilla! Not one fuss or complaint! I am glad that meal times are getting better. Makes me not so stressed out at dinner time!

Sunday morning girl time

Brendon had a test to take today so the morning so it was Olivia and me.  She heard Brendon getting ready so she crawled into bed with me at 6:15! We slept a bit more until 7:45.  Then we made cinnamon rolls and had breakfast.  Then we had coffee/newspaper time and Olivia played.  Then we vacuumed.  Vacuuming with a toddler takes forever...usually an hour because there is lots of stopping, picking up, usually a trip to the potty, and any other shenanigan that can happen.  But we did it in 45 minutes today with 5 interruptions....my gold medal event.  Then we made some cookie batter and had lunch.  Brendon came home right after lunch and I did some errands and went for a run.  Then Olivia helped Brendon plant a plum tree outside and we had dinner.  Fun day today!

Loves to push her horse down the driveway
