Cold Bike Race at Tribble Mill

Today was daddy's first bike race of the year! It was REALLY cold and windy today.  I woke up with another runny nose today.  I was pretty happy though! I ate breakfast with mommy and played.  I took a good nap and then mommy and I ate lunch.  We had my favorite chicken noodle soup! Mommy said it would make me feel better.  Then we put my favorite owl outfit on and got all bundled up.  We went to see daddy at his bike race for about 10 minutes.  It was REALLY cold and REALLY windy so we came home and warmed up.  His bike team, Team Meat came in 3rd place.  We were so proud of daddy!

Busy but Fun Day

We had a very busy but fun day! We decided to go to IHOP for our Valentine's Date this morning.  Olivia was a bit cranky but I think she was just hungry and it was out of her routine to get dressed and go out the door.  But once we got there and got her some food she was great.  I ordered her the pancake face....it was a pretty big pancake and she ate 1/2 of it plus some bananas that were used to make the smile.  She was pretty good while we were there.  She sat in the high chair for like 5 minutes and then wanted out.  But we were impressed with her eating 1/2 of the pancake!

Then we ran to the post office for some stamps and to mail some letters.  First we went to Dicks Sporting Goods to get some things.  We let Olivia walk around the store and she held my hand.  She is getting much better at holding hands and walking.  Then we went to Ace Hardware to get some things.  Then Publix and finally Kroger.  We were tired when we got home.  We got everything unloaded and Olivia had lunch and then went down for a nap.

After her nap we went to Karson's house to have a playdate and a surprise shower for our friend Dawn.  Olivia played really well with Karson, Raegan, and Peyton.  I get the bad mom of the year award because I forgot the camera!! I had everything else though! Oh well.  But we played outside for a bit and then played inside and had some snacks.  Then we came home and had dinner, folded laundry, and threw in another load of laundry...we are tired but had a fun day!

Valentine's Day 2013

Happy Valentine's Day!

We started the day by having a family breakfast and exchanging gifts! Olivia saw my flowers and kept calling them big flowers! Brendon and Olivia made me a cute picture frame.  Olivia made Brendon a heart made out of her footprints.  I got Brendon every man's dream for Valentine's Day- a 6 pack of beer! I know Brendon doesn't want any mushy gushy stuff and teddy bears so I had picked 6 beers for him! Then off to work we went!

Olivia had fun at Susie's house today and came home with some Valentines from there.  I got lots of candy from my students! Olivia also got a teddy bear and some treats from Karyn, Rick, Kristy and Shawn! She also got a special gift from Karson!! So blessed with lots of treats!

We had Kindermusik tonight so Olivia had lots of fun.  Then Olivia and I had a romantic dinner of leftovers! My favorite part of the day was watching Be my Valentine Charlie Brown with Olivia tonight.  It is so funny to watch her watch Charlie Brown! She even giggled at some of the parts!

Pancakes, Cupcakes and Reading

It was another yucky day today...we need some sun.  Brendon and Olivia went to Gymboree this morning.  When I got home they were just starting lunch.  I asked him what she was having and he said that Olivia wanted pancakes for lunch...so pancakes it was.She ate a whole pancake, cheese, a piece of apple, and she tried her first bite of a Samoa Girl Scout cookie.

After lunch we ran to the store to finish Brendon's valentines.  There were so many balloons and flowers in the store and she kept saying, "Look at all the balloons!!" and "Pretty flowers!"

After her nap we started on the cupcakes.  I had to use the mixer which she wasn't the biggest fan of but it is loud! Olivia helped line the cupcake pan with liners.  She loved it.  Then we put them in the over and watched them carefully.  Then she said, "Hot cupcakes!" when they were done.  She ate a good dinner and then ate one whole cupcake.  When she took her first bite of cupcake she said, "Wow!"

Olivia is very excited about Valentine's Day...even though she thinks we are going to the Valentine Dance tomorrow again! So sad to disappoint her...we will have to dance at home!

Sweepin Up!

Olivia wanted to sweep today so she helped with some sweeping.  Such a great helper she is.  I hope she enjoys these chores when she is older.  After worked today I stopped at the first consignment sale of the season.  Really all I was looking for were shorts and some Braves and Georgia apparel.  I didn't find much of either.  I did find some shorts...I think the best deal for shorts are $2.00 and under.  I found one UGA t-shirt and a Georgia polo type dress.  I also got her a Little People airplane, some blocks, and some extra Little People.  It was another rainy afternoon and Olivia took a good nap which helped me get some school work and make my valentines for school and for Olivia.  Olivia ate almost ALL her dinner again.  YAY! I love when she eats! Gotta fill that belly.  We had a normal night and I caught her reading her books again...I am going to have to sneak the camera in there and get it on video.  So cute! Here's to another rainy day tomorrow!

Sweeping!

Good day!

Olivia had a great day today! We went to Target to get a friend a birthday present.  Olivia was very happy to help pick it out.  She even held the wrapping paper in the cart...of course with a few head bops to me.  I keep reminding her that her friend Raegan's birthday is coming.  We will sing to her, have cake with her, and watch her open presents.  When I sing Happy Birthday she knows to say some of the words at certain parts.  I am going to keep singing it for the next few weeks so hopefully she will remember it!

We also went to Gymboree today. Olivia was very excited to go.  Today we pretended we worked for the post office! Pepa would have been in heaven! We put mail in the mail truck, put letters in the mailbox, put packages on the slides, and just had fun!

Olivia ate all her dinner tonight and had some cookie! I was just happy she ate everything on her plate!

Clean Up Day

Today we did some cleaning.  Brendon went for a bike ride this morning so Olivia and I did some cleaning.  It took about 2 hours but we vacuumed the downstairs and upstairs.  Olivia was great and followed me all around downstairs with her vacuum but just wanted to play upstairs.  I also started another stack for the attic to put away.  Just some toys and stuff that we don't use anymore! So sad to put some stuff away! But I feel much better that we got cleaned up today a bit. Everyday it still looks like Toys R Us has thrown up all over the house but we are kind of used to it.  Brendon calls them landmines when you step on a toy...ouch that hurts. Olivia is feeling much better.  She sounds better still sounds a little nasally but nose is not running and I maybe heard her cough just a few times.  Brendon and I are both feeling better- not 100% but better. 

Olivia had a good southern meal for dinner tonight.  Brunswick Stew and cornbread! She ate them both.  She helped me make the cornbread too!  No Jiffy box of cornbread mix here.  Brendon found a great recipe that we use with our cast iron skillet and it is yummy! Olivia even said so!

Tonight after dinner it started raining.  Brendon saw a flash of lightning and then then thunder boomed.  I guess Olivia has never been awake during thunder and it scared her! She ran screaming back to the dinner table. Then she kept saying that she heard the thunder.  We haven't heard any other thunder since...maybe that is a good thing!
