Man Date

Brendon had a man date with the husbands of the group of girls we hang out with.  It is so fun to see our kids be friends, the wives be friends, and the husbands be friends.  They came over here today, had lots of fun in the woods doing manly things, and had lunch.

Olivia and I went out for a bit so they could have some man time.  We went and got a few things for her birthday party, had lunch at Subway, and went grocery shopping.

When we got home they were about to eat lunch and it was time for Olivia to rest.  I literally threw in a load of laundry to help drown out the laughter.  Us wives were happy they had a good time!

Playing Games

One thing Olivia really likes to do at night is play games.  We have several now, which is great so we don't always have to play the same games.  She does NOT like to lose but that is just part of learning how to play games!

Here are a few of her favorites:

Candy Land

Hungry Hungry Hippos

Go Fish

Brown Bear - Polar Bear, What do you see?

Come on mom...its your turn!!

Another snow day

We had another snow day this week. We didn't get anything and I wished they wouldn't have canceled school.  It was an early release day for the students and lots of parent-teacher conferences scheduled.  So that was kind of crazy trying to reschedule parents etc.

But we went to a few stores in the morning- Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Hobby Lobby to get a few things and some birthday party supplies.

After lunch we went outside and went for a walk in the woods since Brendon was going to clean up down there.  When we started walking down to the woods it started sleeting...and then it would rain, then snow, then rain, then sleet, snow...repeat.  Eventually it just rained! Thankfully we had school Thursday...

This was actually Tuesday on the way to work...snowyish drive

Daddy's turn

Now that Brendon is sometimes home at night early enough we take turns taking Olivia to dance and gymnastics.

Brendon took her to dance this week...I think they are rehearsing their dance routine already...

Bowling with Friends

Last Saturday it was pretty junky outside so we decided to go bowling with our friends! Olivia and Ethan had bowled before so it was new for Emma and Emily.  the kids had a great time! Lots of fun had by all!

Then we all went to dinner...after a long wait for food...it was all good!!

Can you tell our kids like candy??

A little overwhelmed

Needless to say I am a bit overwhelmed.  I never in my mind thought that this blog would do anything or go anywhere.  It is random ramblings, captured moments, and a digital story for Olivia to have one day.  I don't think my writing is very good but when thoughts do come, I try to get them down on paper/blog.  I also thought, "Who would want to read any of what I have to say anyways??" I got nothing good, just an ordinary mom, floating in the boat called life.  Sometimes the boat is sinking and sometimes it is swimming.  Right now it is just floating, another busy week ahead and of course I added another task for next week, but it is a passion that has been on the back burner for awhile.

But thank you for your kind thoughts and encouraging words...they are heard and made my little heart smile.

But when this mommy life gets a little messy and I need a time out...I pick up my Hope for the Weary Mom book and peruse the pages that are dog-eared and sometimes underlined!

But I love how my favorite quote of this book so far has an image...

Look forward and be good at who you are =)
