Meet Dino!

We were so sad when our neighbors lost their dog Max.  Max was like our second dog and Jake's best friend.  Plus Olivia LOVED Max so much.  Every once in awhile she asks about Max and I just gently tell her that Max got sick and he had to go to Heaven.  Olivia then adds, "He is with Jesus and all the other doggies."  Even Jake still looks across the street to see if Max is still there.  But now our neighbors got a new dog! His name is Dino...like the dinosaur from the Flintstones.  He is a German Shepard and he is so stinkin' cute! Olivia just loved him.  We had to remind her to be gentle with him.  But he sniffed her and licked her and she loved every second.  She even made him a card! Now she just wants to know when he is going to come and play at our house.  Not sure when that will be because Jake just might think he is a toy! So happy for our neighbors and happy that Jake and Olivia will have a new friend!

Story time and gymnastics

Today got up super early to meet some friends to run.  So happy to have Caren and Wendy to run with.  Plus it was 60 degrees this morning which felt great.

After running I zoomed to school and worked in my classroom by myself.  It was great to get things done on my to-do list...I mean ta-da list!

Then I zoomed to the library to meet Brendon and Olivia.  He dropped her off to me and we went to story time.  It was all about weather today.  Some good books and fun.  We even saw our friend Emma! We picked out some new books and got a weather chart.

Tonight at gymnastics Olivia got her ribbon.  So proud of her progress even though I can see her acting silly sometimes in class.  She does enjoy going though.

Shopping with a 3 year old

So today we did some shopping...not groceries but Kohls, Target, and Hallmark.  I let Olivia walk around at Kohls and she discovered clothes racks are the perfect place to hide and mess up clothes.  It made for an exhausting 30+ minutes in the store but we had fun.  It is funny to hear her say, "Ohhh...that's pretty!" or "No I don't like that!" Then we went to Target and I felt like we did circles around the store but got a few things AND Olivia smelled popcorn.  She said, "Yummy mommy! I smell popcorn!" So I caved in and bought $1.29 bag of Target popcorn...total sucker!  Then Hallmark...the NO TOUCH store.  The last time we went in there Olivia touched a few things...so I had to remind her NO TOUCHING like a million times.  Things are just at the perfect height for her to touch...too bad all those things are breakable! In the end we had fun shopping!

Hair cut and dance class

Olivia got a hair cut today! She was EXTREMELY whiny this morning when I told her that we were going to get her haircut.  But when we got there she was fine.  Of course told the lady no braids! I forgot to get a picture... =( but looks shorter and better.

We also had dance class tonight.  She was doing well and listening when I checked on her. She loves jumping with the tap shoes on!

Ready to be healthy

I am ready to have Olivia healthy...poor thing...today the rash looked better in some places than others.  I am really trying to let the medicine do its job but the rash is a mystery to me.  But poor thing her tummy was upset today.  They said that the medicine would probably upset her tummy.  I took her to school this morning and poor thing pooped her pants....I know she couldn't help it.  Too bad the bathroom by my room the lights for some odd reason are not working so I had to carry her ALL the way to the office to change her.  For the rest of the day she wore a Pull Up but she managed not to poop in them but to get it in the potty! Which was great! But I hope she feels better sooner than later! She has had a rough couple days!

Learned too much this week!

This week we learned too much about...pooping, strep throat, and now Scarlet Fever....

Olivia's rash started to look worse yesterday and I called the doctor's office.  First they make you speak to a nurse through the insurance company who was really no help...she said to apply Calamine lotion...ya...that is NOT going to work.  So then after I talked to the nurse then I can talk with the doctor.  When talking to him he said it sounded more like Olivia had Scarlet Fever which is Strep plus the rash or else she was having a reaction to the meds or the strep was resisting the meds.  So we had to watch her closely...the rash looked better after I changed her out of her jammies but still not the best.  Poor thing...we are trying to keep her cool and inside which is hard when it is 90 degrees and sunny outside.  Hopefully it will look better tomorrow....hoping for a healthier week!
