Sunny Saturday

This morning Brendon got up early to scope out where he is going to hunt for turkeys next week. Well Olivia heard him get up and got all upset.  So when he left at 6:15 I brought her into bed with me and then she slept with me until about 7:30ish.  So I am not sure what is going to happen when I got back to work this week with this whole big girl bed thing...right now we are in the middle of trying to get her down....

Well 45 minutes later now she is asleep....I think

This morning we met Karson and his mom at Harbins Park.  We first took a walk with the kids in the stroller and they did great.  Then the kids played on the playground for awhile.  Then Olivia said she wanted back in the stroller.  So we went back out for a walk.  Then about 3/4 of a mile in Karson wanted out of the stroller and then Olivia followed.  So we had to walk the rest of the way with two curious toddlers.  It was fun though.

Fears

I think (well know) that Olivia is starting to develop some fears.  Here are some thing that she is afraid of:

#1.  The potty...this child will not go near the potty with a ten foot pole. She is still scared of it.  I know when she is ready she will let me know.

#2.  I think after last night thunder.  We had some big booms last night.  She told daddy all about them.  She woke up about 9:45 p.m. last night and was crying.  I kept her downstairs with me until the booms stopped and then got her back in bed.  But tonight she kept saying, "No thunder,  no booms tonight."  I reassured her a million times there would be no thunder.

#3 A new one tonight...afraid of what is under her bed.  Not sure where that one came from but we checked under the bed before she went to sleep.

I know is it normal for these things to develop, but in my mind I thought she would be older!

Big Girl Toddler Bed

We made the transition to the toddler bed two nights ago.  It was good again last night.  When Olivia woke up this morning she turned off her fan and then came to our room again.  So overall it has been a success! Nap time was fine until the FedEx man came and rang the doorbell.  Jake barked and she got out of her bed.  She played for a few minutes and then said, "Go sleepy!" and went back in her bed.  She is just growing up way too fast for me! Her opinions about food and clothing and what she wants to do surprise us all the time.  We have now started asking her questions to see if she can recall events or places.  She is pretty good with answering questions! Sometimes her answers are silly but she mostly will answer yes or no and give and answer. It is fun to have a conversation with her!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I stayed in my bed ALL night.  But this morning when I woke up I got out of my bed and walked down to mommy and daddy's room and knocked on the door! Then we snuggled in bed for a bit watching Curious George and I told daddy Happy Birthday!  I ate a whole waffle for breakfast and sat at the picnic table.  Then mommy and I made daddy's cake.  While the cake was cooking, mommy cut strawberries and I was eating them! I thought they were yummy.  Then daddy went outside and pressure washed the deck and mommy and I painted some things for daddy! Then we went outside and helped daddy with the garden.  I did a good job scooping dirt and watering the plants.  Then we ate lunch and played a little outside before my nap.  I was tired when I napped but  I decided to turn the monitor off and mommy and daddy didn't notice for awhile.  Then they heard me wake up and get out of the bed. (Mommy and daddy moved the monitor before bed tonight).  Then we got dressed and went out to dinner for daddy's birthday! We went to Local Republic and I did a pretty good job.  I played musical chairs but I did eat some mac and cheese and grilled cheese.  Then after we went to this place (Exhibit Ale) that had a huge dance floor (really just an open floor) and a big red couch.  Daddy got a big jug filled and I decided to do a little poop while we were there.  Mommy said, "No pooping at the growler store!"  I didn't see anyone growling at me!  Then we came home and had cake- it was so yummy!! Then daddy opened his presents.  He really liked my paintings.  Mommy gave him the night off from giving me a bath but we watched some baseball before bed!

I hope daddy had a good birthday!

XOXO

Park Play and Toddler bed

This morning I met my friend from school and her 2 daughters at Harbins Park.  It was gorgeous this morning...too bad the pollen was so icky.  The girls played at the park and had lots of fun.  Olivia ate her snack and we went for a little walk while we were there.  On the way home I drove through a HUGE cloud of pollen...gross!

After lunch I decided to make Olivia's bed into the toddler bed....well it worked fine for a few minutes but then she fell out.  The bed setup was strange.  There was to rails at either end and about a 2 foot opening in the middle.  Well once she figured out she could get out...she got out.  Brendon just so happened to be at Wal-mart and called.  I told him we needed a safety bed/crib rail thing.  I thought we could just put that in the middle open spot.  Well once we put it on the bed we had to take the wooden bed piece off.  So now she just has the store bought bed/crib rail safety thing.  She made it through her nap and got right in it for bed.  Cross your fingers she stays in her bed!

Everyone down the slide!

Let spring/summer begin

Today was a bit crazy....

On the way to Gymboree (we were literally less than 3 minutes away).  Olivia decided to throw up in my car! Ahhh....thankfully I had a stash of clothes and clean up materials since this just happened a few weeks ago.  Not sure what happened.  She was fine the whole ride up until that point.  After I got her cleaned up I asked her if she wanted to go home or to Gymbo and she said Gymbo.  So we went.  She didn't have a fever and she was fine the rest of the day.  I am almost thinking it is motion sickness- I still have her backwards and we were on a twisty road (that we have driven on 100s of times).  So when we got home I took out the car seat and cleaned it and tonight I turned it around to face forward...well at least attempt it!

Olivia ate a TON for lunch! Then we played outside for a bit.  Then she took a nap.  Wheile she napped we got the pool cover off and I went and bought some hanging baskets.  The Grower's Outlet was pretty busy.

After she napped, she had a snack and back outside we went.  I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time outside.  Then I went to get a haircut and Brendon did dinner with her which she ate.  Before I left for my haircut Jake decided to pee in the mud room...lovely...throw up, pee...lets go for the trifecta.... Then when I got home she decided she wanted some of my dinner too and took a few bites. So it was a bit crazy today!

The pool is open!

Happy 1st Birthday Joe!

Today was such a great day to celebrate a first birthday! We went to our friend Joe's 1st birthday.  Joe is actually the son of my doctor, the one who blessed us with the miracle of Olivia.  Olivia was very excited about Joe's birthday.  She talked a lot about it yesterday and today.  the whole car ride there she kept saying, "Going to Joseph's house!"  She was a little shy at first but once we found some toys she was alright.  We got her to play outside for a bit too.  Then we came back inside  and played too.  I even got to watch Joe for a few minutes and we played! He is such a cutie.  Then they played some airplane games.  Olivia got an airplane from one of games where you dug through the clouds and found them.  Then we ate.  Olivia ate 1 1/2 tortillas, some rice, and 2 pieces of cake.  She was such a good eater.  Then Joseph opened his presents and Olivia did a great job watching and played with a few of his toys.  Then before we left we went down to the dock.  We saw a huge fish and a duck.  Olivia quacked at the duck! Then we got our goodie bag and headed home.  We played outside for a little bit when we got home and did some bubbles.  Olivia finally blew some bubbles from the wand and then politely told me that she tooted.  Then we came inside and looked in the goodie bag from Joe.  There were some airplane crayons and lots of airplane goodies.  Olivia was so excited.  She colored and played with all the goodies!  She had a fun time! We feel so blessed to share this day with them.  We cannot thank their family enough for blessing us with Olivia!
