Olivia playing in the grass

Lots of outside time!

It was gorgeous outside today!!  We did some yard work and cut the grass (well the weeds).  Olivia went in her swing outside while we ate lunch outside.  Then after she ate lunch she came outside to play.  We played with the walking toys in the driveway and then on her own she went in the grass- there is a video of it- don't mind the grass cutting apparel!   She loved it.  She pushed the lion all over the place.  Brendon was doing the push mower and I swear she wanted to be like him and was trying to imitate him- we do have a Fisher Price lawn mower but she is not steady enough to push it- the arm on it is not fixed like her other push toys.  I even took off her shoes and she didn't mind the grass.  She even crawled, yes crawled on the driveway today.  We also blew some bubbles.  We stayed outside for almost and hour!! After her afternoon nap and bottle we went and hung out on the back porch.  Brendon and I love in the summer to sit on the back porch in the early evening.  A nice calmness comes and we enjoy watching the birds.  We tried some rice tonight and she seemed to like it.

Figured out her farm book today and started pressing the buttons

Spaghetti, Spaghetti

Jack Prelutsky says it best:

Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
You’re wonderful stuff.
I love you spaghetti
I can’t get enough.
You’re covered with sauce
And you’re sprinkled with cheese,
Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
Oh, give me some more please.

Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
Piled high in a mound,
You wiggle, you wriggle,
You squiggle around.
There’s slurpy spaghetti
All over my plate,
Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
I think you are great.

Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
I love you a lot.
You’re slishy, you’re sloshy,
Delicious and hot.
I gobble you down
Oh, I can’t get enough,
Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
You’re wonderful stuff.

Tonight Olivia tried spaghetti! Good stuff and she ate a whole bunch.  While making sure it was ok to feed her spaghetti I found these wonderful directions on how to feed your child spaghetti:

Step 1: Put the highchair out on the patio or grass.
Step 2: Put Baby in just a diaper.
Step 3: Cut up the spaghetti.
Step 4: Put Baby in highchair and let him stuff his little face.
Step 5: When Baby is done, brush off excess spaghetti.
Step 6: Hold Baby at arms length and go straight to the bathtub.
Step 7: Remove diaper and spray down Baby with shower head.
Step 8: Bathe accordingly and kiss those once-again clean cheeks.

I thought they were funny.  Olivia got messy but not too bad! Also there is a video and whenever I ask her if she is hungry or wants lunch she clicks her tongue.  I guess it is her way of saying she is hungry! Looks like the video posted before this...so it is after the post.

The spaghetti adventure... grandma and grandpa you will be proud- I guess your love of spaghetti got passed on to Olivia! If you didn't know, my parents REALLY love spaghetti...  A LOT. It was served once a week at our house.  I guess that is why I do not like spaghetti that much!

Finally No crying...well almost

I know I have told the tales of Olivia crying in the car in the evening time and it is horrible.  The crying is the worst cry you will ever hear.  It is loud and almost torturous at times.  Singing Gymboree songs are about the only thing that help it.  Well tonight there was a minor breakthrough.  First I had to get gas.  That is another place Olivia cries...when I am pumping gas.  Tonight...no crying! Yay! I opened the door when I was pumping so maybe that helped.  Then on the way home from Kindermusik today... no crying...well almost.  About 30 seconds before I turned on our street it started a little. But probably the best ride home.  I did a lot of talking about animals and she was babbling back.  I think we are close to saying piggy but in baby babble.  But it was a pleasurable ride.  It may have been a fluke, it may have been the full moon but I will take it!

We played outside today again for a little bit.  There are some crazy dogs back out in the woods and they sounded close to the house so I got a little nervous and brought her in just in case they came up the path.   It was a beautiful day though...too bad it is going to rain tomorrow...!

Thought this was funny...

Mommy's helper!

Today I did lots of playing.  I really wanted to play with Jake this morning but he was more interested in napping.  Mommy took me outside for a bit this afternoon.  I pushed my lion and she blew bubbles for me.  We even visited with some neighbors for a few minutes.  Mommy put my feet in the grass this afternoon too.  It was ok I guess.  I also helped mommy with her school work.  She made a game and cut some paper.  I helped her by throwing the paper all over the place.  I did have fun doing it though.  I am mommy's little helper!

XOXO
Olivia

Jake, will you play with me?

Please!!!

Running away from all her help!

See mommy! I am a good helper!

Sweetness

I cannot wait until Olivia is up walking on her own.  She is going to be Jake's best friend.  She either calls him dog or Jake (but in baby babble).  If I ask her where Jake is she will turn and look or even last night she pointed to him on the couch.  But what is so sweet is them looking outside.  Now the doors are filled with 2 sets of prints- one dog and one Olivia but it is just so sweet.

P.S. Scroll down to see the funny video of the time lapse of Olivia napping.  And NO we do not put her down on her tummy, she rolls and sleeps that way just like her mommy!

50 Weeks Old and a random tooth

I got my weekly email today that said Olivia is 50 weeks old! That is crazy! I also read my book (Your Baby week by week) for week 50 today.  I really try to take it with a grain of salt with what it says she should be doing.  It even says in the book that every baby develops differently etc. etc.  But wow- week 50!

We went to Gymboree today and had lots of fun.  She was a whiz on all the ramps and inclines.  She laughed a lot today too while we were there.  But she did get her hair pulled by another little girl and she cried.  So that was her only frumpy part for about a minute.

We had no nap since she took one in the car on the way home.  But tonight after her bath I noticed her random tooth.  She is getting a tooth on the top but no not a front one...the one to the left of the front one- which she doesn't have!  She is going to look like a vampire! I so do not understand infant tooth development.  But it is random and is taking her a very long time to get these teeth!!

Book time!

She loves to play with the cradle...this was mine was a little girl! Thanks Grandma!

Warning! Super Cuteness!!

Today was a bum around the house day. Brendon smoked some ribs and we just hung around the house today.  We had lots of talking and playing.  Brendon took Olivia outside today just a for a little bit since it was a bit windy and got some great pictures!

Brendon is very proud of his hotdogs made on the fireplace!
