Last day of swim

Today was the last day of swim class.  Olivia was more excited about getting a piece of candy at the end of the class today more than anything.  She did really well and even did some independent type swim skills.  It was so good to see her progress this week!

I signed her up in a few weeks for the next class. =) Now to keep up the skills at home for a few weeks!

Swim lessons day 4

I really saw her confidence build today.  She is listening to the teacher really well and loves going still!

Swim lessons day 3

Still loved going to the lessons and did good again on day 3!

kick time!

Swim lessons day 2

It was another good day at swim lessons!  On the way there, she said, "Swim lessons were awesome yesterday!"  That made my heart smile!! So proud of her trying and she showed Brendon some stuff when we had a brief swim before a storm yesterday.  (sorry the videos are pretty bad today...lots of kids walking in front of me...they were pretty busy with swim team tryouts)

Swim lessons..day 1

Today was day 1 of swim lessons...I was proud that she didn't cry and tried everything the teacher asked her to do!

The chair

Olivia and I did our first fix it up project.  My white rocker needed to be refinished.  So Sunday we sanded it, primed it, and then painted it.

Sanding- gave her sand paper...lasted a good 5-7 minutes until I busted out the electric hand sander. Then she hung out with daddy for a few minutes.

(We had to change clothes...didn't want to get her Stinky's shirt painted on)

Primer- helped me prime the whole chair.  She did great with the paint brush...a little too much paint but I was able to smooth it over. Then we had a snack and pool break! (Which ended up being a no nap Sunday)

Back to painting...she helped me paint the whole chair.  Is it perfectly smooth..no...but it was one of those life lessons.

#1 Girls can do projects too and use tools!
#2 Perseverance...we stuck with it, even though it was hot, messy, several changes of sweaty clothes, and took a long time.
#3 Working with mom is important because that is how you learn and bond with each other.  We laughed, danced, and swatted a lot of bugs away.

A chair full of memories!

Bowling Party

Our sweet little friend Ethan had an awesome bowling birthday party.  The kids had a blast bowling.  Olivia was everyone's cheerleader when they bowled!

Braves game

My class was so sweet this year and got our family tickets to Braves' games for my birthday!

We went Friday night...I drove and met Brendon down at Turner Field since he was working...silly for him to drive home in Friday traffic just to turn around and drive back.  But Olivia and I were braves enough to drive down there to meet him!  It was a LONG ride...Friday traffic and traffic in general in and around Atlanta is brutal! We made it though...took longer than expected...but made it! We had a good time!

New floors

I have waited a LONG time...but we finally replaced the flooring downstairs.  We got the new carpet in May and then had the LVT wood flooring put down last week.  It looks beautiful! Makes the house look so different and newerish...

Still some little projects to do for some updates...change out the hardware on the cabinets, maybe a new light fixture, and some day new counter tops and back splash- the Formica is just yucky...and dated...

OLD...

NEW!!!!

Summer Vacation....finally

Last week we started our first week of summer vacation at home.  It was quite rainy...no fun.  But we managed to get errands done and have some fun!

We went to the library one day.  I love taking Olivia to the library and watching her pick out books.  She is still stuck on Curious George and Llama Llama (if they have any), this week we got a Berenstein Bears book and I convinced her for a few others.  But she loves to check out the books! She can do it all by herself!

Then she loved some writing scratch off thing I got her... so we worked on her ABCs and 123s.

Other than that it is her and I most days...just trying to get some form of routine!
