Olivia's 1st Gwinnett County Fair

Today started out great! I ran one of my favorite 5Ks this morning.  I had a new personal record (PR) of a time of 24:38!! I was so proud of myself and came in 2nd place in my age group with a decent time!! Can you tell I am excited about this?!?!?!?!

After the run I cam home and Brendon closed the pool =( That means that summer is truly over.  We had lunch and then got ready to go to the fair.

What a great time we had!! It was $5.00 a piece for Brendon and I to get in and Olivia was free! Gotta take advantage of all the free stuff.  We walked around for a bit and then found the animals.  Olivia saw cows, goats, and sheep. She got a little afraid of their noises...they are much louder in person then in books and tv.  We also watched a cow get milked.  Next we went to the exhibit hall...nothing too exciting in there.  Then we found the carousel and bought tickets to take Olivia on her first carousel ride.  She was very excited to ride the horsey! Olivia did great on it.  There was one time when she squirmed to try to get off but then she laughed a few times.  We let her play the little boat game and pick out a prize...well I picked out the prize of a new textured (bumpy) ball.  Then we tried to walk and find some kettle corn.  I was SO DISAPPOINTED that there was NO kettle corn at the fair!! My heart was set on getting that I really didn't want anything else.  Brendon got a funnel cake and Olivia tried some and loved it! She was very tired at this point so we went home.

I am so happy that she loved the fair!!

Climbing

I stayed at work since I had a meeting after school.  With gas at close to four dollars a gallon...it is a waste to drive home and drive back.  I really missed the family though and couldn't wait to get home.  Brendon and Olivia went and did some grocery shopping today.  Olivia loves the produce section!! She can name lots of fruits and veggies.

When I got home she just woke up from her nap.  We ate a snack and relaxed.  I literally turned around for one second to clean something up and someone was sitting on the couch.  Olivia finally figured out how to climb on the couch.  She figured out the computer chair a few weeks ago and LOVES to sit on the couch.  Well I guess she can sit on it when her little heart desires.  The little stinker even knows how to get down too!!

We went for our nightly walked and chatted with Kristy.  Olivia decided to throw rocks around in their driveway!! Then we did our usual night routine!

I can't get the pictures to upload at the moment but at least there is a video!

Moments of Chaos

There was a bit of chaos last night for me.  Around 9:00 p.m. Olivia started crying.  I let her cry for a few minutes but she did not soothe herself back to sleep.  I went upstairs and tried to rock her and that didn't work so I gave her some pain medicine to help with the teeth.  At the same time the phone was ringing and when I went downstairs there was a HUGE bug! Ugh... so add that all together and chaos.  Olivia saw the bug and it scared her too! So she was crying from waking up and teeth hurting, then crying from seeing the bug, and then phone ringing.  I had to make priorities... kill bug and then get medicine.  Got those done...exhaled and had to laugh! Chaos all in about 5 minutes time!

We had Kindermusik tonight and Olivia did a few new things.  When our teacher Ms. Dana said to put the instruments up high Olivia held her arms up.  Then we rolled our rhythm sticks and Olivia did it tonight.  She also did some nice sharing with some of the other kids tonight.

Flare for the Dramatics

We have to say that we have had some drama with bedtime and nap time this week.  It started Saturday with staying up for the football game.  It has gotten better over the week but the crying and not being able to leave her room is so dramatic.  We can tell that she is testing the limits.  Brendon had a hard time trying to get her to nap this morning because we go to Gymboree in the afternoon.  Therefore she didn't nap it was so dramatic.  Her nap today was in the car on the way to Gymboree and that was it.  I know she is tired...after dinner she looked exhausted.  They say girls are more dramatic about everything.  I guess it starts early at 17 1/2 months.

One exciting thing today was that she told me she was going pee pee and she did.  She did lie about the poop though!! She is so silly!!

Playing with Jake...too bad Jake just wants to nap....

Messy

Olivia is just messy.  We are now in the make a mess toddler phase.  I know she is just exploring but wow can she make a mess.  Sometimes it looks like a tornado has rolled through our house.  Hope you like the messy books! I am glad that she takes the time to look at them all first before making a mess.

The fussiness was not as bad today.  Brendon took her to Gymboree where she had a few minor moments of fuss.  Other than that she was fine.  She ate like a champ again today! She even cleared her plate at dinner.

Kristy came and babysat for awhile today while I went to a meeting. Olivia was really good for her and they played outside.  Olivia even said Kristy's name when she woke up from her nap.  I just love that she is putting names and faces together.

Picnic and Pediatrician

Well the fussiness continued today.  Brendon said he had Olivia in the swing outside at 9 am!! When I came home they were having a picnic lunch outside in the grass.  So sweet!! Well I guess she was eating good until I disrupted everything.  Then it was meltdown after meltdown and she wouldn't even go down for a nap.  I made the executive mommy decision to take Olivia to the pediatrician.  I thought it was a dreaded ear infection.  They let me come at 2:30.  She did really well during the checkup and only cried when the nurse practioner went to look in her mouth and do a rapid strep test.  They cleaned out her right ear because it had some wax but other than that she didn't see anything wrong.  The nurse practioner chalked it up to my old favorite...teething.  I know the one molar is poking through back there but I am so over waiting for teeth to come in.  She recommended Tylenol during the day and Motrin for night time.  I gave it to her tonight before bed...not the happiest about it but tough! It will hopefully make her feel better!!

Trying to figure out Jake's collar
Playing with her play food and she knows lots of names of different food items...and yes she always makes this big mess and cleans it up!

Bills lose game #1...and even Olivia cried

What a change in weather!! Such a cool morning...made me wish I would have gone for a run this morning! Brendon went hunting instead and I woke up with Olivia.  She ate like a horse today!!  She almost ate a whole blueberry waffle.  There was literally 2 bites left.  Then she ate her snack...the whole thing, 2 graham crackers, some maple crunchies, and a maple wheel.  We played a little outside and it was so nice.  Then Olivia got all upset over nothing so I stuck her in the swing and she was fine.  She had a killer lunch- sweet potatoes, apple, cheese, turkey and yogurt...and I almost forgot 3 animal crackers.  Can you tell someone got her appetite back???  We really tried to get her to watch some football but she was REALLY tired and cranky.  We did not get a nice football picture like last year.  After her nap she had another snack- Goldfish, and what we call cheesy poofs.  Then I had some Cheez-its and she ate some of those....what a little piggy!! We played more outside with her beach balls and more swinging while Brendon vacuumed the pool.  She ate an okay dinner...maybe she was full at this point...bananas, some veggies, a little stromboli, and of course room for ice cream!

Funny of the day....all of a sudden Olivia has started bringing us diapers downstairs and then lays down on the ground and says pee pee.  Now sometimes she has pee pee and sometimes she doesn't.  It is hilarious.  I thought she was hiding on me or that she fell down but no...she was just laying on the ground holding a diaper.  Too funny...

This morning she made a mess and was quite content to lay in in.
I guess someone already knew they were going to lose...this was in the 1st quarter...not very happy
