Camping in the Backyard

At this moment Brendon is attempting to camp in the backyard with Olivia...I can hear her crying all the way in the house. Not sure how long it will last.  I am going to sleep in the house.  I could use the rest instead of listening to the doves all night like the one other time we tried a few years ago.

It was a nice day outside today and we enjoyed some pool time today.  We played outside after dinner and went for a walk- Jake included! We didn't go very far.  We went up a few houses and then turned around. We then played in the yard.

Whoa

Whoa... that is all I have to say about today.  It started as soon as Brendon shut the door at 6:45 a.m. Olivia was up and ready to go.  I am not sure why she never sleeps in for me.  Brendon gets the luxury of 8:00 a.m. sometimes! But we got up and ate breakfast, played, had a snack, and then went grocery shopping.  Off an on today we had lots of whining! Eating was ok, but what I think the problem was poop... or lack there of it...sorry TMI.  I think she was a tad constipated today- she did have some banana yesterday so that may be the cause of it.  Look out tomorrow though- I am sure she will be blowing it out!

The only other exciting news for today was my Peachtree Road Race number came! YAY! I love how this year they put your first name on it! To me it feels more like a name tag... but whatever!  Can't wait to the 4th of July =)

Flag Day Picnic and Celebration

*** Warning Lots of Cute Pictures***

This morning we went to Little Mulberry Park to meet up with Susan, Olivia's wonderful daycare person for a Flag Day picnic.  It was not blazing hot and we were actually afraid it might rain, it was breezy but perfect.  The park was great!! There is a little toddler area where we played and of course Olivia climbed the big kids' slide.  We had a little picnic lunch under the pavilion.  Olivia kept pointing to all the birds and saying, "Bird." It was so cute.  After lunch we went for a walk to the lookout spot.  It is the highest point in Gwinnett County.  It was really neat up there! After our walk we headed home and Olivia fell asleep in the car.

After her nap today, we went to Nikki's house to celebrate her daddy's promotion.  It was fun to play with Nikki.  Of course the sweetest thing was that Nikki gave Olivia a hug! It was so sweet, of course no one had a camera ready.  But it was so, so sweet! Olivia went to bed a little late tonight but she was ok and wasn't fussy about it.

But what a fun day!!

Susan gave us a life preserver so Olivia we let Olivia play in it for awhile today

No crying at the dinner table...well today at least!

It was a busy day today and much better on the eating front.  I had to go to the doctor this morning for my annual check up while Brendon stayed with Olivia.  She is just too busy to go to a doctor's office.  Those poor cabinets would have been tore up! When I got home it was time for Gymboree and off we went! She ate well this morning which made me feel better.  Olivia had a blast at Gymboree.  I should have brought the camera today.  She loved rolling the balls down the ramp and bumpy slide.  She did it over and over.  She also loved putting the balls in the tube.  She did really well picking them up and then dropping them in.  She even pushed the air log today for a tiny bit =)  After Gymboree we came home and Olivia took a little rest.  I was already getting anxious about dinner.  I decided to make an acorn squash that I bought last week.  She loved squash as a baby food.  Well she loved it tonight.  I gave her some of mine and she ate all of it.  She also ate some mixed veggies, a few noodles, a few bites of chicken, and some blueberry muffin.  It was MUCH better than last night.  No one cried at the table!

After dinner we played inside for a bit.  Olivia played with Jake and he wasn't the biggest fan.  She bopped him on the head with one of her toys and I don't think he liked it- hence he destroyed yet ANOTHER toy while Olivia was getting her bath.  We went outside for a bit and walked around.  I can't wait for tomorrow! We are going on a picnic!!

Olivia reading her books

Yay for Sunshine and Boo Hoo for Dinner!

The sun was shining today! It was so nice to see Mr. Sun! Olivia was a really fussy eater today.  This morning she ate applesauce and about 3 bites of pancakes and maybe 2 Cheerios.  She spent some time at Susan's today and only ate her veggies and some bananas.  She threw her chicken on the floor! When I brought her home I gave her some yogurt and a graham cracker and she ate that.  She took an extra long nap today~ almost 3 hours.  I just hope she is not getting sick! Then when it came time for dinner she did not want it.  I gave her some sweet potato fries, green beans, mac and cheese, some little pieces of sausage- she ate maybe the green beans and that was it.  So I tried some other things- I made some muffins today so I tried giving her some blueberry muffin- she ate about 3 bites. So then I said how about some fruit?!?! So I got out some peaches and she took 3 bites and then started crying.  At that point I started crying too.  I know I shouldn't get frustrated with her eating but at times it becomes exhausting.  I wish she was just able to verbalize what she would like or that she isn't hungry so we both don't get all upset.  I can only hope tomorrow will be better.  If she doesn't eat in the morning then I will probably call the doctor.  I peeked in her mouth and didn't see any teeth popping through.  I know some day they will come in...she only has 6 still.  But Geez Louise they are taking a long time!!

2nd batch of green beans and 1st batch of blueberries from our garden

My favorite- the foot book- she taught herself how to put her feet on it and touch the pages!

Rainy Day #2

Today was rainy day #2.  It rained off and on again ALL day.  There was a little break this morning so Brendon took Olivia outside for a bit while I went and got my hair cut.  When I got home he was feeding her lunch so I helped him out.  Olivia did GREAT with the spoon today.  She took the spoon, dipped it in her yogurt, then stuck it in her mouth.  No real mess today so I think she is getting the hang of it =) YAY! The it was time for Olivia's nap and she was about an hour into it and she woke up.  Sometimes she will wake up but then go back to sleep.  Not today! I tried everything! Rocking her, singing to her, putting her white noise cd....nothing.  So I am pretty sure she is pretty tired right now.  While we were eating dinner the sun came out!! Hooray!! We went outside after dinner for awhile.  We took a walk down the street and stopped at the neighbors.  Tomorrow is a 50% chance of rain, I hope we are on the good side of the 50%!

Olivia can now open the drawers to the built in desk...today she pulled out a box of pens!
She psent a long time taking them out of the box and putting them back in.

Rain, Rain Go Away Day 1

We are supposed to have rain for the next several days...yuck! We went to church this morning and Olivia did pretty well.  It is kind of hard to keep her still and quiet. We had some snacks and books for her which helped. But still she is like a monkey and it is hard to contain her.  After that we came home for breakfast and read the newspaper and play.  It rained off and on all day.  So there was lots of playing inside.  Instead of mowing the lawn outside she mowed the lawn inside with her lawnmower.  There was a break in the rain so we played outside for a bit.  We took a little walk down the street and visited with the neighbors.  Olivia just wanted to walk all over.  After dinner we skyped with grandma and grandpa and at first Olivia was a little whiny.  Olivia just played and read her books and was quite content.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be rainy again...oh joy!
