Happy 2nd birthday Griffin!!

Today we celebrated Griffin's 2nd birthday with an ABC party! We had so much fun.  We had so much fun, that we all took a nap when we got home! It was great to celebrate this special day with him and all of our friends!

Shopping and Grade Level Dinner

Brendon and Olivia had a wonderful morning shopping.  They stopped at an office supply store and bought a new shredder.  While walking out of the store, Olivia was looking where she was walking and walked into something outside of the store.  Brendon said she cried but was ok.  It probably scared her more than anything. They also went and got groceries too!

After work today we came home and put away the endless load of Olivia's laundry...it takes forever.  Then we got ready to go to our end of the year dinner at Linda's house.  Olivia had such a good time.  Linda has A LOT of good toys, a sandbox, a slide and swings.  I felt bad that I had to bring her but Brendon can't take off of work for everything but she was good and that's all that matters to me!  She is one tired girl though and so am I!

My Jobs

This afternoon after work I noticed my flowers really needed some water.  So Olivia and I watered the flowers.  Her "job" as she said was to carry her watering can and help water.  She even said that was her job.  She did a great job.  It was so hot out! I love it...so we did some chalk in the shade after watering. 

Then Olivia's other job is to turn on her fan before bed.  Again she said, "That's my job!!" So looks like I might need to give her more jobs!

Where's????

Today after Susan's house we had our usual dinner date with our friends and Gymboree.  Olivia was very excited to see Griffin.  We got to the mall a bit early and Olivia looked and looked for him.  She stood on her chair and yelled, "Griffin, Griffin, Griffin...Where are you??? I can't see you!!" It was so sweet.  She just loves her friends.  We had lots of fun at Gymboree as usual!

Olivia was such a great helper today and helped Brendon get some chores done.  She helped give Jake a bath! She scrubbed and helped him get dry with her blow dryer.  All those chores must have wore her out because she was still sleeping when I got home from work.  I had to wake her up! It took her forever to eat something for dinner...she is the slowest eater on the planet.  She likes to talk and play and takes forever!! But we had a good night!

1 More Monday...the End is Near

I can see it...the end is near.  The last day of school.  My poor heart broke this morning when Olivia told me to come lay in the bed...I was sad when I left.  then I remembered...1 more Monday and back to full time mommy!! I can't wait.  I have tons of work left to do...so this post is short.  I have to finish my goals! But I can see the end in sight.  I can't wait for summer!

Mother's Day 2013

What a great day today! We woke up and had some breakfast and went to church.  Olivia was really good at church. We didn't even bring any books with us.  Plus the mass seemed to zip by.  At the end the priest always asks the moms to stand and everyone prays.  I tried really hard not to cry but I did.  Mother's Day is an emotional day for me.  I am excited and overwhelmed with being a mom at the same time.  Being a mom really means a lot to me.  It wasn't too long ago that I would cry on Mother's Day because I wasn't a mom and really wanted to be one.  I think part of the emotion connected with today was the struggle to become a mom and how difficult becoming a mom was.  I think having that struggle makes me appreciate it more.

After church we went and played at Grayson Park.  We had some time to burn before our brunch reservation.  Olivia had so much fun.  She just loves playing at parks...what child doesn't?? Then we went to brunch at Graft.  I won't bore you with the details with that.  The food was good...but it was the typical Mother's Day overcrowded brunch.  Thank goodness Olivia was so patient and sat the entire time in the high chair!

After brunch we came home and we brought Olivia's Godmother Karyn a present.  She just loved her flower pot Olivia made.  Then we played outside and then it was nap time.  I even took a brief nap! Then I went for a great 6 mile run.  The weather was perfect for a long run.  Then Brendon made a delicious dinner on the smoker- ribs and chicken.  It was yummy!  Such a great day!
