A taste of Spring

Today we had a nice taste of spring.  I ran a 5K this morning with a work friend...it was a bit chilly at the beginning but by the end I rolled up my sleeves and wished I had worn different pants!

When I got home from running, Brendon went for a bike ride. Olivia and I had lunch and went to Target and Publix.  She was a really good shopper but I was a bad mom and had to open a snack for her before we bought it.

Then we came home and she napped.  While she napped Brendon and I finished painting the back of the house.  It felt good to get that done.  It was just item on our spring to do list among other things.  After her nap and snack we went for a walk in the woods.  She remembered lots of things when her and Brendon went for a walk a few days ago. She remembered to stay on the path and walk in the middle.  She even remembered the moss on the path.  She had to have a stick and when we got to the bridge, she waited for help and then sat down on the bridge.  Then we had dinner and she helped me make some brownies.  Then the usual night routine and bed!

Definitely afraid

Olivia is definitely afraid of the potty.  Tonight when it was bath time we got in the bathroom and I literally touched her Winnie the Pooh potty seat and she teared up.  She said, "No sit on Winnie the Pooh." "Mommy flush poopy down the potty." So she is still freaked out.  Until she is better about it the words of potty will probably will not be spoken.

Olivia and Brendon had a great day of shopping.  Their seeds they planted have already sprouted.  After school today it was gorgeous outside so I took Olivia to Harbins Park.  We looked at rocks and walked a bit.  We played on the playground.  She is such a daredevil.  She was climbing on things.  She went down the slide all by herself.  She even checked out the big kids equipment.  We both needed some sunshine and I am so lucky the park is like 3 minutes from school.

I promise to get some pictures tomorrow...sorry I am such a slacker!

Crying it out but fixing it

It was a busy day today.  School and Kndermusik...and squeeze in a stop at Kroger and dinner.  Tonight Olivia was just not happy when it was nap time.  I think she is still traumatized by the pooping incident.  She just busted out in tears when I said it was bath time.  She cried while getting her bath, her hair dried, and even after her jammies were on.  At one point I even cried too because I couldn't figure out why she was so upset! She even said, "Mommy crying!" I admit I felt better once I cried too.  Then she started crying for Charlie Brown.  Well a mom has to do what a mom has to do.  If she will stop crying and watching Charlie Brown will fix it...we will watch Charlie Brown.  So we did...and they crying stopped and it was all good.  I think she was just tired and it doesn't help that the 2 top canine teeth are coming down and the right bottom canine is breaking through AND the left canine is VERY swollen.  Poor girly!

Miss Her

I admit that I am missing Olivia more than ever now that I am back working full time.  I know it is only for 10 weeks (50 days), now even less than that but still I miss her.  I wonder if she even notices that I am gone or that she spent extra time with Susan this week.  I wonder all day long what she is doing.  A billion question also go through my mind...is she eating ok? is she fussy today? does she feel ok? did that tooth come in? I know that Brendon would call me if something was not right.  I don't know how mommies do this every day. I guess I was so used to having all this time with her and now I feel rushed, pressed for time, and feel like I am not 100% with her when I am with her.  The house is a mess...at this point I am proud that I did the dishes tonight.  There is always tomorrow and that is one day less than the 50 full time days it was 3 days ago.

Big rocks and 1st Poop on the Potty!

This morning was pretty nice and warm.  Brendon took Olivia for a walk in the woods to see the big rocks.  They had fun on their adventure.

By the time I got home form work it was raining! Booo...!!!

Olivia and I had a great dinner and she did a great job eating.  We played and read lots after dinner.

Here was our big moment for tonight.  After her bath last night she told me, "Winnie the Pooh seat."  By the time a scooped her out of the crib she already went potty.  So tonight after brushing her teeth she told me again.  So I got her out of her pjs and sat her on the potty seat.  She did not want to sit on Winnie the Pooh on the toilet.  So she sat there and finally I peeked to see if she went...she sure did.  Her first poop on the potty! I was so excited for her and she was too at first.  Then she saw the poop and she freaked out! We had tears and she watched me flush it and everything...but still freaked out.  So much so that I had a hard time getting her to bed.  I was so shocked that this happened! She has had no real interest in the potty for a long time and in the past few weeks it has picked up again.  So I am sure this freaked her out and she won't want to sit back on it again!!

And yes...I did take a picture of it for proof...but I won't post that...yuck!  But as Lauren said...There is proof in the poop!!

Talking on the phone

Olivia loves talking on the phone.  She likes to pick up the phone and pretend to dial and then talk.  She kind of knows even who calls our house.  Tonight she wanted to call Mema and Pepa.  I dialed for her and just let her go with the phone.  She was talking away so I thought she was talking to my parents.  Well she wasn't.  She heard Pepa's voice on the answering machine and was just talking away which led to a really long message to my parents.  Thankfully they thought it was pretty cute.

Other then that and teaching her to say, "You got it dude" we had a pretty boring day.  Laundry, vacuuming, more laundry, a little bit of biking and running.  It was pretty cold today so we made a batch of chowder and some corn bread.  It was such a warming meal.  Can't wait for warm weather to arrive!
