Fever and Mommies Night Out

Olivia had a fever today! She hasn't been sick in a REALLY long time.  She is not showing any signs of being sick though- no cough, runny nose, or anything.  This morning she slept in to about 8 or so which isn't like her, she is usually up by 7:15ish.  She was a little cranky when I got home from my run but nothing too dramatic.  She went down for a morning nap since we were supposed to go to Peyton's 1st birthday today.  When she woke up from the nap I thought she was a little warm but I thought was just from napping.  She didn't want to eat lunch and we thought it was because she had a late snack before the nap.  After I got out of the shower Brendon noticed she was warmer than usual and we took her temp- 101.5! Yikes.  I called the nurse line and gave her Ibuprofen.  We kept her hydrated and tried to get her to eat throughout the afternoon.  The fever went down to about 99.7 before I left. We are hoping and praying it is just teething! Even though I gave up on teething along time ago.

The mommies in our Gymboree group planned an outing for Michelle's birthday and I wasn't sure if I was going to go with the whole fever thing.  Thankfully it went down and Brendon said it was ok to go.  This was the first time in 16 months I had a night out with friends with no babies.  We all agreed how nice it was to get together and have some girl time.  We went to Masterpiece Mixers in Suwanee and did some painting.  It was fun and we laughed a lot.  It was really great to celebrate Michelle's birthday and have fun with friends.  I am so happy to have met all these wonderful ladies and formed such a great friendship with them!

Short and Sweet

Sorry this post is probably going to be short and sweet since it is thundering...again.  Hopefully with this storm we get some rain.  Most of the thunderstorms we have been getting either have been a lot boom and no rain or lots of rain and no boom with it.

Olivia and Brendon went and did some tax free shopping.  Brendon needed some new socks and some stuff.  I did the grocery shopping after school and got home in time to play with Olivia before her nap.  She took a good nap.  I have been trying to capture her talking after her nap to her animals. I have tried several times this week.  I did get today's and it is pretty funny.  Fast forward to about 2 minutes and 55 seconds and you will her the infamous, "I don't know."  I am not sure what she doesn't know to her animals but it is cute.  After her nap we played and practiced jumping.  She did a little of the color yellow today again.  Brendon was home for the Friday night pizza party so that was fun.  We then played out in the yard for a bit.  The mosquitoes were really bad tonight =(

Move over Jake! This is my spot!!
Oh yeah... I will just lick you then!

Daycare and Jumping

Olivia went back to our wonderful daycare provider Susan today.  We have been practicing saying Susan's name... it comes out like Susie but close enough! She cried a bit when I dropped her off and I shed a few tears too in the car.  It is always hard to drop her off the first time when she is crying.  I have learned the best thing to do is leave instead of try to calm her down.  But she did great.  When I arrived to pick her up she was playing with some horses! I had to laugh cause she knows how to say cow and horse and she was playing with horses!

She took a good nap when we got home and then we played.  While we were playing I noticed her trying to jump.  So we practiced over and over trying to jump.  She got some air a few times and landed on her bottom a few times too.  It was hilarious though.  She was jumping on her square mat and then all of a sudden yelled out, "Yellow!" She was standing on the yellow square of the mat.  I tried to teach her some of the other colors but yellow seemed to be the favorite even when standing on blue, red, orange, and green.

After dinner it stopped raining and it was gorgeous outside.  We took our usual walk and saw our neighbors.  Olivia hasn't seen Kristy in awhile since they were on vacation and on the way over she said, "Hi Kristy!" Kristy played with her a bit....sorry Kristy I am sure your arms hurt! Kristy even took her on the swing in the backyard.  Kristy let her touch the water in the pool and point at lots of trees and rocks.

Then it was the usual nighttime routine and bed! Sweet dreams baby girl!

I have no idea what she is doing! She looks a little Frankensteinish!
Big Smile!

2nd Haircut, Gymboree, and Scared!

I took Olivia to get her 2nd haircut today.  We got the bangs trimmed again and that is it. The curls are still there!  This time she cried when I put her in the Barbie Jeep.  Not long just for like a second and had 2 huge crocodile tears! But then she was fine and got all trimmed up!

Then we went to Gymboree.  Olivia had such a blast.  It is so great to see her now start to clap along with the teachers and songs.  She loves, "Bo Bo" AKA Gymbo! Olivia's favorite things there are putting the balls in the basketball hoop, rolling the balls down the incline or putting them in something, cleaning up the balls, and her favorite time is parachute time/bubble time.

We came home and had a snack and then dinner.  We went to go play outside after dinner but that got cut really short when I heard thunder.  We went for a mini-walk and then played inside.  Then we had a pretty loud thunderstorm...lots of booms and the power flickered off once, but not a lot of rain.  But Olivia actually got scared.  I felt her jump a bit and cling a little bit harder to me.  I think this was the first time she was scared of the noises.

I am not sure what she was doing...she kept walking around with this but acting like it was a phone and saying, "Hello?" I think she is confusing it with the phone that Jake ate =(
Trying to get a picture of the haircut but she kept playing on the chair...

Catch Phrase

Olivia had a super fun morning with daddy when he went to the doctor.  Brendon said she did really well at the doctor's office and only had to tell her no twice while they were there- she was touching a lamp and the exam table.

When I got home from work we played for a bit.  Olivia took a very short nap.  So we went to buy diapers at Target.  She did great at Target.  She loves to look around and talk while we are there.  She ate a really great dinner and I swear either her clothes are getting tight or else she just looked really big today.  She is growing up way to fast.

Her new catch phrase is, "I don't know." She even does the hand motions to go with it.  Also every time the phone rings- house phone or cell phone she says, "Uh oh!" I guess I must say it when the phone rings and now she just copies me! But she is picking up words like I can't believe.

Good morning kiss to Jake

First Day of First Grade

Well I made it through my first day of teaching first grade! I admit that I was a little nervous about teaching first grade but so far so good.  They day wasn't perfect and I didn't make it to specials on time but Malissa and I got the kids to school, fed, to the bathroom, and home.  That was our goal for the first day! But they are just so sweet and adorable!

I was sad to leave Olivia this morning.  But Olivia gave her daddy a treat by sleeping in to almost 8:00! She has been an early riser the past few weeks.  They had a great morning together and I was so happy to see them when I got home.  We played outside for a bit tonight and did some dancing in her room with her stuffed animals.

The Olympics are a real nail biter!
Jake's usual spot for when Olivia eats!
I tried to capture the wild curls today! They were out of control!!
