Strep Throat and Thunderstorm

Yesterday Olivia told me her forehead hurt... I kind of thought she may have just bumped her head on something.  But when she woke up from her nap she said it again and I gave her a tiny amount of medicine and 5 minutes later she said she was all better! The last night before bed she said she was cold...took her temp...101.3! Yikes!!  Then I noticed she started a rash...great! Took her to the doctor this morning and they did a strep swab...yup...has strep! The rash was much worse this morning- on her cheeks, back, etc.  She took a really long nap this afternoon and I could tell she felt a bit better after.  She ate a little bit more at dinner too because she hasn't wanted to eat much yesterday and this morning. Hope she feels better tomorrow!

Of course right at bedtime...big thunderstorm...this bad boy lasted until about 10:50 p.m. and she wouldn't let me leave her room.  I tried to tell her that the thunder are angles bowling...which led to a conversation about Curious George and how he went bowling with the Man in the Yellow Hat...geez Louise! So needless to say it is my bedtime and I am going to bed!

Day #2 Success!

Well we had success again on just day 2 of what the GI told us to do! Today Olivia told me she had to go and had one false alarm.  then about 10 minutes late told me she had to go and this time she went! No crying, no fussing and she was so excited when she was done! So happy for her and us! Hopefully this will be the start of good stuff for her and us! Plus she was super excited that her Frozen undies arrived today too!

Breathing a sigh a relief just for today!

GI visit

TMI warning....just sayin'

Today we took Olivia to the GI to find out what is going on with her pooping and Encopresis.  The doctor was wonderful and thankfully pretty humorous.  Of course I cried because I feel like a horrible mom that can't get her kid to poop.  But he reassured us that this is very common and fixable.  We discussed lots of things that we had done, what the pediatrician told us to do etc.  So finally after her exam which he found that everything was functioning normally, he gave us our plan.  It is pretty simple and a stop at Wal-Mart on the way home made it better to start today by picking up a few things.  I won't go into detail of the plan because I am not a doctor and you should not do things our doctor told us to do for our child to your child.  But today it worked and she pooped on the potty.  We had to "call" the doctor and tell him, I made a pretend phone call and that seemed to work! But we had success on day one so hopefully it will continue! But we learned a lot today about poop, but it is always good information to know!

We always get happy for poop on the potty no matter where she goes!

Classroom Helper and Dance class

We had a busy day today.  Olivia came and helped in my classroom again.  Really all she wanted to do was hang up these birds, color, and read books.  She was great.  Today we brought a fan because it is so hot in the school.  So we stayed for like an hour and a half and then left.  There is always more work to be done....there is always tomorrow!

Hard at work at her desk!

When we got home we made some banana bread and then had lunch.  We had time for a quick swim and then the sky got all dark so we quick ran in the house just in time.  Then we rested and ran to the bank, got gas, and went to Lowe's for more mulch.  Then we zoomed off to dance class.
Busy day and we are tired....tomorrow is our GI appointment for the Encopresis problem....hoping for some help and answers tomorrow! Prayers much appreciated!

Fun with Friends and Mommy's classroom

Yesterday we had fun with our friends at Emma's house.  It was warm and the kids played outside with some water toys.  We had delicious burgers, hotdogs, and tons of sides! It was Liliana's birthday so I made some cupcakes for her!
Such a fun time! Too bad Olivia was so crabby at night time...she didn't nap and we had pooping problems! Hopefully Wednesday when we visit the GI we will get some answers!

Today I stepped foot into my classroom...yikes! lots of work to do.  Olivia tried to be a good helper.  We stayed about an hour and a half and with no a/c that was good for me, plus Olivia's cheeks were getting all red too!
