Karson's smash cake!

Happy Birthday Karson!

Olivia crossing the finish line!

5K, Fishing, Playground, and Happy Birthday Karson!

Today was a busy but really fun day! It started with me running a 5K at Tribble Mill Park.  Thank you to Tim Bagley from Classic Race Services who let Olivia run through the finish line as a faux finisher! Then Brendon and Olivia met me at the park.  It was a bit chilly and windy but fun.  Brendon took Olivia fishing for a bit and he caught a fish on the Barbie Fishing Pole! Nothing huge but it was a catch.  Olivia was getting a little restless at this point but she at least looked at the fish and touched it! Then we went and played on the playground with Joan.  Joan just loves Olivia! After the park we went home and had lunch and Olivia took her nap.  After her nap we got ready for Karson's 1st birthday party! We had so much fun.  There were lots of friends and toys.  Of course Olivia had to check out their couch and a few chairs.  She truly is Goldilocks! Olivia also loved their dog Gus! Karson truly smashed his cake and had fun! It was a fun but busy day!!

Hooray it is June!

I can't believe it is June already! This morning was a little crazy.  Brendon had to take Jake to the groomer.  I told him that he should drop him off while I get ready for grocery shopping and watch Olivia.  Olivia hates the shower.  I was just about done and he plopped her in the bathroom and shut the door on her.  Well she didn't like that.  She cried and screamed and cried.  It doesn't help that she is getting more teeth either so she had 4 fingers in her mouth while crying.  Well you know what happened next...she threw up cause she was so upset and having the fingers in her mouth didn't make it any better.  Luckily I caught most of it in my hand and she got a little on her onesie.  I finally got her to calm down.  It was just crazy though.

When Brendon got home we went grocery shopping.  We ended up stopping at 4 places.  Olivia did a great job.  We brought her little snack container and she was just fine.  She liked looking at things and pointing.  The best place was Three Peas in a Pod.  It is a little vegetable stand and their produce prices are a bit cheaper.  She loved looking at all the fruits and vegetables.  She even picked out a tomato!

After shopping we played outside for a bit and had lunch.  She was not a fan of my lunch or dinner today.  I think because he mouth hurts.  I gave her some Tylenol this afternoon to help with the discomfort.  She was fine the rest of the day and was really funny about Jake's haircut.  She immediately pointed at this tail because it is not all curly anymore and he had a bandana on from the groomer so she liked that!

Busted in the pots and pans...thankfully she only got to the cookie cutters!
I caught you!

Summer Kindermusik

YAY! Today we started a new summer activity! We started back to Kindermusik again.  This is just another fun activity to do with Olivia.  She had such a good time and so did Nikki! It is great to have class with a friend.  Olivia played the rhythm sticks today and I was so proud of her.  She was exploring the room and even rang the fake little doorbell Ms. Dana set up.  We even got a goody bag with 2 cds, books, and some instruments.  Now we have drums and tambourines! Thursdays are going to be so much fun!

Olivia also did good with her 1 nap today.  She did take a little cat nap on the way home from Kindermusik but woke up once we got home and stayed up until after lunch.   I put her down about 1:30 and she played for a little bit and then finally went to sleep and slept until almost 4:00 p.m. So far the transition to one nap hasn't been to bad, even on Wednesday when we have Gymboree. I hope it stays this way!

Such a ham!

I have to say that Olivia is becoming quite the ham! She is just so silly sometimes. For example tonight and for the past few nights, she watches me get her pajamas out.  Then, she walks over, starts pulling out the pjs and throwing them all around.  Also she likes to play peek-a-boo with her blanket.  It is hilarious!

We had Gymboree today and it was great to see all of our friends! So we didn't do one nap today. She ended up taking 2 cat naps.  She took about an hour and a half this morning and an hour after Gymboree.  I wasn't sure how today would go with napping, but it went fine.

The best part of today was seeing how nice people are in this world.  Olivia's milk smelled funny this morning so we had to stop and get milk on the way home from Gymboree.  I stopped at the Publix in Grayson for milk and some Parmesan cheese.  I didn't get a cart since it was only 2 things, so I just carried Olivia, the diaper bag, the 1/2 gallon of milk, and Olivia helped with holding the cheese.  When I got in line there was a few people in front of me in the express lane.  The woman in front of me turned around and said, "Go ahead in front of me." I told her, "No that is alright." She then replied, "No, really go ahead." I thought- okay, it is not too often that someone allows you to go ahead of them in line, she obviously realized my hands were full and going ahead of her would help me take a load off.  So we made some chit chat while we waited about Olivia.  But I thought that was just so sweet.  She obviously saw all that I was carrying and politely let us go ahead of her.  See...there are some nice people in the world still.  So whoever you are...Thank You for your random act of kindness.  It was very much appreciated!

Transitioning to One Nap

I knew the time was coming to the transition to 1 nap.  Olivia's naps in the morning were still pretty good~ about 2 hours but the afternoon naps were becoming shorter and some days nonexistent.  Sometimes in the afternoons Olivia would play for 30-40 minutes and then take about a 30 minute nap.  So I thought since school is out and she is almost making the transition herself, that we would start trying today.  She woke up and was very cranky this morning.  We had some little temper tantrums! But we kept her up.  It was a LONG morning, especially when it started raining.  I think Brendon and I appreciated that 2 hour nap in the morning to get things done around the house.  I guess we will just have to take turns since we are both home during the day.  But Olivia did fine.  We played with some blocks today and she was able to stack them! She ate lunch about 12 and then about 1:15ish I put her down.  She cried a little bit at first but then went to sleep.  I think she would have slept longer but Jake barked at about 3:15ish, waking her up.  But she would play for a minute then be quiet for about 5- 10 minutes, so I just left her up there until she started crying which was about 3:50ish.  I gave her a snack when we came downstairs and ate dinner at our regular time.  So it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  Now tomorrow will probably be a different story since we have Gymboree in the afternoon.  I guess I will see what happens tomorrow!

Memorial Day 2012

Well Memorial Day kicked off with some exercise! I went and ran the Dacula Memorial Day 5K. It is a great run but it has some hills.  But it was fun.  I beat my time when I ran it 2 years ago by 2 seconds.  Even though I feel my body is still different after Olivia my pace has finally got back to where it was 2 years ago when I stopped running.  It is still a work in progress though.  After I got home, Brendon went and rode his bike at Tribble Mill.  Brendon also was a very good teacher to Kristy this morning in teaching her how to prepare ribs.  Olivia and I had a fun time playing on the Korem's couches.  Olivia actually climbed up on their couches all by herself! Yikes! Brendon had to work today so I just bummed around the house and took a little nap this afternoon.  Olivia and I played outside after dinner and had fun checking the apple trees.

P.S. Thank you grandma for the perfect patriotic dress today! It fit perfect!!
