July 3rd, 4th, and 5th!

July 3rd:
Busy day...Brendon had to redo my brakes and rotors after the new tires.  While he was doing this I was packing for my hotel stay for the Peachtree Road race.  Then quickly fed Olivia lunch and then Brendon zoomed off to get groceries.  Then the girls arrived and we got all packed up and ready to go.  We went to the Expo first so Joan and Tina could get their numbers.  Then we checked into the hotel and got dinner and walked around for a bit.  Then it was bed time.

While at the homestead...Brendon did dinner and gymnastics with Olivia.  Then they went for a swim and over to the neighbors for some fireworks!

July 4:
I am not sure if I slept much...got up at 5:45 and started getting ready for the Peachtree Road Race.  It was so nice to not have to get up at 3:30 a.m.! But got ready to go...it was a cool morning about 64 degrees! It was a good run...not my best 10K (I had 58:43 on my watch but they had me clocked at 58:58)...slower by 2 minutes from last year but I ran good and had fun!

Post race lunch!

While at the homestead...Brendon and Olivia went to the parade. By the time I got home they had lunch, went swimming, and were napping...yes both of them! Then we just swam after nap and grilled kabobs.  We decided to stay home since the place that usually does fireworks didn't do them this year, plus Olivia isn't a fan of the booms.  So we did some sparklers in the driveway and she was fine with that and so were we!

July 5th: Today we did some house work.  I pulled weeds....lots of them.  I am so not a green thumb....my back, arms, and hands hurt so bad at the moment.  Brendon worked on the squirrel damage... and we took a trip to Lowes.  After Lowes and a quick rest I tried finishing the weeds and just gave up.  Sprayed some round up and covered with mulch...of course we were short one back of mulch...that can be done another day! I will take some pictures of our repairs and gardening tomorrow!

Bad Day Yesterday....Good Day Today

We had a bad day yesterday...

1. I didn't run...I was tired so I took a rest day...I think that made the day go wrong.
2. Brendon went biking and had a bike mechanical again...so the bike is at the bike shop again.
3. My truck needed new tires...yippeee...but not to our wallet.
4. While truck was getting new tires...they noticed I had the wrong rotors and brakes! Fantastic...another chunk out of the wallet.
5. Did a hurry up version of grass cutting when it was 90 degrees.
6. Brendon did a hurry up version of the push mower...then got stung by a bee!
7. Olivia didn't nap...so she had to help rake...wasn't her favorite chore.
8. Pitched a fit before dance class....
9. Almost late to dance class....
10. Had to pick up new brakes and rotors after dance class
11. Olivia wouldn't poop....but kept pooping in her pants all day! Encopresis is so much fun said no one ever!
12. Finally had to give Olivia some help going poop...while I quick took out the dog after she pooped, she pooped on the carpet...lovely!

Needless to say we read, "Alexander and the horrible,  no good, very bad day" before bed time last night!

Today was much better and Olivia even pooped on the potty without any fuss or crying!

Eating lunch with my fairy princess!

Big June Goals- #June100miles

On the way home from Destin I saw this advertisement about running 100 miles in June.  Mind you it was May 31st so I decided well I could do that...well maybe! So Caren and I challenged ourselves to do this in the month of June.  It was very hard! Unless you are going out running big double-digit miles it will take awhile.  Since it is so hot, I try to limit my miles so I don't get heat stroke or dehydrated.  The runs in June have been so SLOW...I can't believe how slow and sluggish I feel.  I think most of it is that I am waking up and immediately going running.  Just drinking some water and having a Gatorade chew.  I feel I run better when I have some fuel like food and coffee.  But in the end I finished...barely.  I about cried Saturday night when Brendon asked me how many miles I had left which was about 5 and I said I would finish on Tuesday....his response was, "July 1st is Tuesday!" Oh man! How did I mess this thing up??!!??!! So I had to get up and run on Sunday and finished Monday by running on the treadmill because Brendon was working.  I had a lot of good conversations with myself mostly, sweated immensely, woke up by 6:20 A LOT of days, and worked hard on a goal! I was so proud to finish!

I kept a good old fashioned paper pencil log of miles

Sometimes you have to pray a little while you are out there

Last night of soccer!

Tonight was Olivia's last night of soccer which meant we had another soccer game.  Olivia did good....a little whiny at first but was fine.  We think she is a little intimidated by the other kids but she did try! She didn't cry tonight! At the end they all got a medal! So proud of her!
