Nashville Again!

While visiting NY we learned that Brendon's cousins were going to be visiting Nashville again.  Well the grand plan of meeting them in Nashville was hatched.  It was a quick trip but we had lots of fun!

We started at the Johnny Cash museum

Then we went to our favorite pizza place

Saturday morning we did the Grand Ole Opry tour

We went to dinner at Aquarium

Then got our boots over to the Opry for a show

 Such a fun weekend in Nashville!!

Peachtree Road Race 2016

It was a bit crazy getting ready for the race this year.  I haven't been running as much this summer as I would have liked to.  With Brendon's crazy work schedule it is hard to find a time to go in the morning when it is a tiny bit cooler, because running at in the evening isn't any better when it is 95 degrees still and the treadmill is ok at times but can be boring. I was able to go with my friends Joan and Tina again.  We went to the Expo and out to dinner and then got caught in a wicked storm! The race was soooo hot this year.  So I knew this year was going to be slow, but the heat made it more difficult.  I just wanted to finish the race standing up and not in the medical tent.

Some summer fun

I felt that we have been very busy doing stuff this summer.  There has been plenty of fun but I felt like we have been doing lots of errands and stuff.

Here are some fun things we have done:

We have flown daddy's airplane

Caught fireflies

Went to a story time with Chopper

Went to the library for lots of books!

Went to a concert at the Green

The Bathroom Demo

In between trips (camping, Buffalo, then back to Nashville- upcoming post), I worked on some home projects.  I redid the bathroom downstairs- small guest bathroom.  I removed the awful wallpaper, primed, sanded, painted...Brendon helped with changing the lighting and then I worked on the cabinets.  Then we had some new flooring put in!

What a difference!!

My work is not perfect by any means.  I am most proud that I did the work mostly myself.  Yes there was tears at time...but so proud of myself!

Voila...painted and new light! I even painted the door!

Now to work on the cabinets with Valspar cabinet enamel.  Took a REALLY long time to cure...like...a REALLY long time!

Well decided to work on the laundry room too! Redid the cabinets too and got new flooring and some shoe organization.
