Christmas Card Photo Shoot

Brrr.... it was chilly this morning 39 degrees! Brendon was a trooper and went out hunting...no deer though.  Then we got ready and met my friend Jennifer to have our Christmas pictures done.  I think we got some really cute ones.  When I have some sneak peeks I will post them...but not all of them because some will be on the Christmas card.

Olivia was a little crabby today...she has a stuffy and runny nose.  It is clear and no fever which is good...but just crabby. She took the car nap on the way home from the pictures which resulted in no nap this afternoon.  Which continued into being crabby about everything.  She cried about her bath, cried about her snack...but finally the magic of Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin righted the world and we weren't crabby anymore! Thank you Charlie Brown!

Olivia the Helper

Olivia had a busy day.  She went shopping with Brendon and they bought a plum tree! When I got home Olivia was still napping but Jake woke her up.  We had a great night though! We made brownies, ate dinner, sand our ABCs, and read books! Olivia was also a great helper and wanted to sweep the floor! She even picked up all of Jake's toys that she got out and threw all over the floor.  She was so proud of herself picking them up without being asked!

Car Naps...=(

Dear car nap...I dislike you...I really, REALLY dislike you!

From,
Frustrated Mommy

Olivia took another car nap on the way home from Susan's house today which resulted in no nap at home.  I don't know how 20 minutes in the car zaps a 2 hour a nap.  I don't get it...I know it may have to do with that whole power nap thing but geez Louise! It makes one long afternoon and one crabby child who doesn't want to do anything! It is exhausting to me too!! She did take another 20 minute nap in the car on the way to Kindermusik though.  So she napped for 40 minutes in the car today...lovely!

The day I became yours, you became mine

This morning while I was making breakfast for myself, frosting cookies, and waiting for the coffee maker to be done, I heard the sweet tiptoe of toes coming down the stairs.  In walks this curly headed cutey with her jammies and curls going wild.  There are days where I wish she would sleep later but some mornings seeing her before work makes my day.  In that same moment a quote came to my head a friend posted the other day...

Sometimes I soak in all these moments spent with her and hope that it makes her day as much as mine.  My life isn't mine anymore but is shared.  But it is a life that I wouldn't trade for anything...even the bad moments when I want to give up, hit rewind, and try again.  I did shed a few tears on the way to work because I do not like leaving her in the morning at the same time I am so happy to see her in the morning.  She is growing so fast,  and I wish time would slow down and give me some extra moments with her.

Crazy, crazy afternoon

This afternoon was a bit crazy...well the whole day was kind of crazy!

Olivia went to Susan this morning which is not typical for a Tuesday.  Then I picked her up and she fell asleep in the car...sigh...car naps...the car nap sometimes will throw off napping or not napping.  Today was the not napping option.  When it was time to take our rest she told me she wanted to eat carrots, dip, and cheese.  Which this took almost 30 minutes and add some crying in there due to being tired.  Tried getting her down...I needed to go to the bathroom so I exited the room and by the time I can back...30 seconds later...she was crying saying she had to go...well she did...but unfortunately she peed in her pants BUT she pooped in the potty! Fast forward 20 minutes later...jumping around in her bed...by that time Karyn arrived to watch Olivia so I just told her to get out of her bed.  So while Kristy and Karyn watched her I went back to school for a meeting.

Olivia had a great time with Kristy and Karyn.  We are so thankful and blessed that they love and care for her so much!!

But it was crazy and dinner was crazy...after dinner was crazy...crazy, crazy day!!

Two Peas in a Pod

When we got Jake a 9 years ago the vet told us we needed to find a kid to play with him.  Well we found that child...her name is Olivia.  Boy of boy does she love her dog! Poor Jake she loves all over him all the time now.  We have gotten on to her though about the tail pulling because we know that it hurts Jake.  But they are two peas in a pod.  They even like watching the squirrels together. She ow wants him to play fetch with her...but he is too distracted with squirrels that run across our porch at the moment!

It was a chilly day today and Olivia looked so cute in her jeans! This afternoon after her nap she helped me make cookies and she supervised making dinner.  She really wanted to help and even pushed her chair over to the stove.  That made me a bit nervous but I thanked her for her help!

We had a busy night of wrapping some birthday presents, a ghost craft, and doing our normal night routine!

Church and Corn Dawgs

This morning Olivia slept until we woke her up at 7:40 a.m.! She must have woken up earlier and opened her door and then went back to bed.  When I went and woke her up her door was open but she was still in bed.  I asked her a million times who opened her door she said she did.  So we got ready for church and went to church.  Olivia was sooo good at church.  I realized how much of a big girl she is becoming when she walked instead of being carried when we got communion.  She really didn't want to be held at all at church.  She is quite content standing on the bumpy she calls the kneeler.

After lunch we put her down for a nap a little bit earlier and we are not sure if she napped at all.  She was very excited about going to the pumpkin patch today. She did fall asleep on the way there though...

But we met our friend Emily there and had lots of fun!
