What a beautiful day today!! It was so warm we went outside after lunch. I had to actually change Olivia from pants to shorts. We played outside and visited with our neighbors. Olivia was a bit fussy when she went down for her nap this afternoon. She kept crying but she eventually fell asleep. She was still a bit stuffed up but better today and the cough wasn't too bad. Plus we thought we saw several teeth including some on the bottoms when she opened up today but we aren't sure since she wouldn't open her mouth again!
I went for a run and it was a pretty warm run...warmer then it has been the past few weeks. Then I came home and we watched the Georgia game. Olivia actually got to watch most of the game. She said touchdown, cheerleader, Coach Richt, and Uga. She was such a good sports fan!
Olivia is really used to me being home at night which really makes the weekends different for her since Brendon is home. He gave her her bath tonight and that went fine. It was after that it went downhill. Brendon really wanted to read her a special book tonight called Conner's big hunt. It is about a boy hunting with his dad. For the past two weeks Olivia has been obsessed with the book Goodnight Moon. So he started reading and then she just got up and got Goodnight Moon and held it up to me and said, "Read!!!!!" I felt bad for Brendon and I know she didn't mean to hurt his feelings but I know it did. I think she is so used to our nightly routine that if it changes she gets upset. I think Goodnight Moon may have to disappear for a bit to break this habit. I about have the book memorized at this point too!!
I was greeted by the cutest little person today saying, "Bombie!" Olivia was all stuffed up today so mommy sounded like bombie! She has no fever...and it is clear mucous...little bit of cough not much though. She has some dry spots on her face from us wiping her nose...looks pretty bad though. She is getting a few molars in so that may be the culprit...we hope. But she was happy and playing. While I ate lunch she told me about about going to Kroger with daddy and that they went shopping. Then she told me about the bump...not sure what that was...either a speed bump or the little bumps when you exit Kroger. She took a decent nap and I could hear her snoring through the monitor. Poor thing! I gave her some Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner and she loved it! She did great with the spoon... a real natural. She even dipped her crackers in the broth and ate them. This helped get some congestion out too. After dinner it was pretty warm so we went outside since we have been cooped up inside most of the week with the chilly wind. We then came in and folded laundry. Olivia decided to dust after laundry and she dusted her crib! Then we took our bath. After her bath she ran ahead of me and was running so fast the dresser shook and the camera fell down and hit her in the face...not very happy...for either of us. I am hoping she doesn't wake up with a black eye or anything. But scary none the least for both of us. I feel like I can't even blink sometimes I am afraid something will happen!
Last night one of the local news stations did a story on Henry. I stayed up late and watched it. Tears came to my eyes when I noticed the story in the ticker on the side that said Henry's Last Holidays before the story even started. No one wants to hear or even see those words. Here is the link below for you to read and watch the news clip.
Truly a time to think about what is really important in life. I think what got me the most was when Henry made a wish...and he wished just for THIS! The this is just being here and now in the moment. Just to be doing all the things that he loves to do. I have heard so many people this week talk about living in the moment. It is true. We should live for the here and now. Each day is a gift to us and we should do a better job at appreciating it. The world is full of lots of things and we all want the best of things but what if the world had more of the THIS than the things? That is something to think about.
Here is one last picture from last night...both kids and mommies...the only way to get them both in the picture!
What an exciting day! The children were very excited at school today for Halloween and so was I! I came home and had lunch with Olivia and then we went to Gymboree...we had to make a pit stop for diapers at Target first. We had fun with our friends at Gymboree. Olivia loves going there so much!!
Then we came home. I made a quick dinner. I found some cute Mac and Cheese at Target last week. She loved it and ate it all. Then we got ready to go to Karson's house to go trick or treating. Our street doesn't do trick or treating...there are not many little kids...we were sadly disappointed the first year in our house when we didn't get any trick or treaters!
We stopped at Rick and Karyn's for trick or treat. I even practiced with her on the way over saying trick or treat...of course she didn't say it!! They made her such a cute bucket of all the snacks she likes!!
My 1st trick or treat house!
Then we went to Karson's and walked around his neighborhood. All Olivia wanted to do was walk. She was not interested in holding her bucket or getting the candy. She did like ringing the doorbells though!
Karson!
One excited monkey!!
The goodies!
We made it home around 8 and took a bath. We caught the last 10 minutes of Charlie Brown =) I was happy about that. We have it on dvd so we may just have to watch it again.
It was another chilly day today and super windy. I think today is actually colder than yesterday. Daddy dressed Olivia in her Elmo outfit today! Olivia loves Elmo!! Brendon and Olivia had fun at Gymboree while I worked all day. I decided to stay at work since we had a meeting and didn't want to go out in the cold anyways! Plus it feels like as soon as I get home I would have to turn around anyways.
As soon as I got home I started dinner. Kristy and her friend Becky came down for a quick visit. Olivia was super shy...plus it didn't help that Jake knocked her over since he was excited to see people. She ate like a champ though...all her pasta! But she didn't want to try the squash. Maybe tomorrow...she loves squash but I guess not today. I took some pictures of her being silly at the table plus she looked super cute with spaghetti sauce all over her face!
After dinner we watched the news since I didn't get to see anything about Hurricane Sandy while at work. Then we played upstairs. Olivia surprised me and told me potty seat and then ran to the bathroom. Unfortunately we didn't make it in time and I think she went in the diaper. We sat there forever and all we got was a few toots!
I am so excited to take Olivia trick-or-treating tomorrow! We are going to go with Karson =) Hopefully it won't be too chilly!
Olivia can climb in her high chair...such a monkey!
Whoa...windy and chilly are the words to describe the weather today. It was one of those days when you don't want to get out of bed. Olivia's molars are really coming in and I noticed almost her whole hand in her mouth at times today. She didn't want to eat much but she ate some. Not too fussy though.
Olivia made me laugh a few times today. We had her on our bed and she was doing belly flops! Hilarious. Now she can say belly flop too! Then before her nap she was singing her "Dust, Dust, Dust" song that she loves. Then after dinner while we were watching the news about Tropical Storm Sandy, she came over to me and said, "Tickle!" That means she wants to be tickled. Hilarious. She laughs so much and is such a happy girl. We did a little craft this afternoon since we couldn't go outside...it was just way too cold and windy for me. I put some warm jammies on her tonight =)
We were very tired from all the fun yesterday. Olivia slept until almost 8:30 =) She was talking up a storm in her room and playing in her crib. After breakfast and reading the newspaper we decided to take Olivia to Corn Dawgs since we had not gone this year. Last year we went there and went to the pumpkin patch and walked around. Since Olivia is bigger this year we paid admission so we could do some of the other stuff. It was a bit chilly...the wind was ferocious!
We first went to the pumpkin patch. Olivia liked looking at all the pumpkins. The ground was very uneven and she fell a few times but didn't cry. There were some big pumpkins left!
Then we went to the big jumpy pillow. I was super mom and took Olivia on it. She liked it a lot and was laughing and watching the other kids.
Next we went on the hayride. First Olivia said, "Choo Choo!" and I told her it was a tractor and then she said tractor. She did really great on the hayride. She kept looking for deer!
After the hayride we checked out some animals. There were ponies, bunnies, chickens, and a horse. She liked the pony a lot. Then we went to see the bunnies and chickens. Brendon was brave and picked up a chicken and Olivia gave it a kiss. We then checked out the horse. I think she was surprised how big the horse was. It did ney for us too!
Then we sat in the airplane. I am still trying to figure out the airplane...kind of random to be at a farm/corn maze.
We did the kiddie area next and played on lots of the equipment. They even had a mini zip line. Olivia was good for one time and that was it. She said, "All Done!" When I got her to the other side.
We finished the afternoon with Brendon taking her down the big slide.
Later on in the evening we carved our pumpkins. Olivia was pretty good. For her pumpkin we used the face set my mom got us. Then carved our pumpkins. She said words like gross, ewww, and pumpkin. I carved mine like an owl and Brendon did a spooky house. Fun times!
