Feeling better and 15 weeks

Olivia was feeling much better today. We fed her some Similac Sensitive followed by .5 mL of Mylanta. I am sure she liked it, it was cherry flavored. Yesterday she only at 14 oz total for the whole day and today was much better at 26 oz! So hopefully this will be over shortly. Also Olivia is 15 weeks old this week. She has grown so much. I attempted to measure her today but that is kind of hard to do with one person and a wiggly baby!

This is how I want to hold the paper mommy!

I am so tired from yesterday and so are my mommy and daddy!

But I am still a camo cutie!

A VERY Long Day

Today was a very long day. Olivia woke up around 7:00 a.m. in a great mood. She drank her bottle and we played and then went for a nap at 9:00 a.m. She slept until about 10:00 a.m. and usually when she wakes up it is time to eat again. Well not today....little miss Olivia just did not want to eat at all. She did not want to be put down all she wanted to do is be held by me and walked around. I tried to sit with her- screaming. It is hard walking around for hours with over a 12 and a half pound baby! Finally I called the doctor and they said to give some Mylicon and wait 20 minutes and try to feed her...didn't work. Called back and went to the doctor. I got Olivia all checked out and she got all riled up like always and they took some blood. Doctor thought she was gassy and said to give her 1 mL of Mylanta after she eats. The doctor said to try to feed her at the office and I did and of course she ate!! Blood work came back normal and we were on our way. Came home and she played some more and took a bath but when I tried to feed her before bed I got the same screaming cry like before...off to bed she went and fell immediately asleep. I am pooped and will probably hit the sack soon too! Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Olivia's look most of the day...pouty pants

All I want to do today is suck on my fingers, drool, and cry!

After the doctor...I feel a little better at least to do some tummy time!

A day of Almosts

I am calling today an almost day. It first started with almost a full night of sleep for Olivia BUT we did put her to bed later than usual at 10:00 p.m. and she slept until 5:30 a.m. or so. Then while she was in her bouncy seat today she kept trying to pull herself up to almost sit. Then while doing that she almost found her feet. Then while she was on her mat staring at the lights she almost rolled over- she started to roll on her side. As I turned to get the camera she rolled back on to her back. So that is why today is an almost day. It was almost too much to handle all of these things happening today!! I am not sure if it was the rockstar onesie that did it but it just might have been!
Almost sitting up in my bouncy seat.

Look mom no hands!!

What are those things??

After the attempted roll over.

Come on do it again!!

Happy 4th of July

We hope everyone had a very Happy 4th of July. Brendon did a great job taking care of Olivia so I could run the Peachtree in the morning. When I got home I jumped in the pool- thankfully I did because shortly after the rain came. It rained and thunderstormed off and on all afternoon. We weren't even sure about fireworks and we really wanted to take Olivia to fireworks. We finally ate dinner and left about 7:30 for Meridian Park to watch the fireworks from Oasis Church. We got our usual spot and Olivia was great while we waited for the fireworks to start. About 10 minutes before the fireworks started Olivia fell asleep. It was past her bed time and she slept through the fireworks. But then she cried the whole way home in the car. It made a very short car ride VERY LONG! Once we got home we fed her once more and off to bed she went and slept to almost 6:00 a.m. this morning.

It was such a great day to spend as a family.

Family photo on the 4th of July!

Waiting for the fireworks and listening to the Braves!

I really like to stand up now!

Just being cute while we wait for the fireworks!

Zonked out right before the fireworks!

Peachtree Road Race

Well the 4th of July has come and gone along with the tradition of running the Peachtree. Who would have thought that I would be excited to get up at 3:30 a.m. to go run 6.2 miles with 59,999 people but me. It has become a tradition for 4 years now and I was oh so determined to make it there this year. I knew already in my mind that I was not going to PR (Personal Record) like last year. I knew that I wasn't even going to come close to my time of 56:29 from last year.

But it started out meeting with my friends the Looneys- Kim and Dean at their house. Another friend Chris Rogers also met us there as we began this trek at 5:00 a.m. We get into the truck and we are all a bunch of chatter boxes. We haven't all been together in a long time so there was lots of talking and laughter. We get to the MARTA station hop on the train and we are on the train. I still can't believe that 15 weeks ago I had a baby and now going to run. There is no turning back now. I can feel the butterflies creeping up my throat- they left the stomach a long time ago.

After we get off the train we head to the starting area. We run into more friends- ultra fast Joan Walls, Jerry Franzone who I used to pace with but now is super fast, and Tina Hunt in her new pink sneakers who was running her first PRR! We were so excited to run into them which led to running into more running friends from the Run and See Georgia running group. It was so fun to see everyone. I have missed everyone so much!

Back to the race- we a hit the port-a-pottys one more time and then it was time to go to our letter groups. I searched and searched for anyone I knew in Group D but I couldn't find anyone! Trust me it is hard to find people in your group when there is a 1,000+ people in it. I got to see the start of the race, hear the national anthem and see a phenomenal fighter jet fly over. The race started and groups started moving.

Finally we moved up to the start line and we were off. At the start of the race it was a balmy 74 degrees. I knew it was hot. My plan was to run as much as I could and walk when needed. I really wanted to run the first 3 miles. If I can make it halfway I can make it to the end. I grabbed water at each mile because the heat was unbearable. At the 3 mile mark I was at 28 minutes and some odd seconds I said to myself, "Halfway there and keep up the pace." Well then the hills start. I tried to make it up them but my body was saying recover and walk. So I did. I walked probably more than I wanted to the last 3 miles so that blew my under and hour time goal which was an original goal so then I made my goal 1 hour and 10 minutes. The longest stretch is the journey down 10th street. You are so close to the park but so far away. Finally I could see the finish and I made it at 1 hour and 9 minutes. I was 13 minutes slower than last year. Boo- I was mad at myself but proud that I finished standing up and still running.

At the end the greatest joy is getting your well deserved t-shirt and finding your friends. We all found each other and chatted about times, the course, and of course THE HEAT! It was unbearable this year. Reading the newspaper today there was a man that went into cardiac arrest and several hundred people sought medical attention.

But overall I had a great time with great friends. My overall theme this year was to enjoy the race instead of compete for a better time. I knew that my body was not in the same shape and condition as last year but I tried not the let that defeat me. But it felt so good to put on those sneakers and pound the pavement. Thank you to my friends that have given me the encouragement to get back out there and the confidence to do the race. I appreciate all the encouragement! I am looking forward to the 2012 Peachtree Road Race!

P.S. Thank you to Aleve for making this body a little less sore today!

Post race picture at home with Brendon- Olivia was napping!

Daddy's Turn

Jake was checking to make sure that he was doing the bath right and was not sniffing his butt.

Today was Daddy's turn to give me a bath. I really love taking a bath and I started kicking in the water. Sometimes I even cry when mommy and daddy take me out. I guess because it is kind of fun for me.
I can't wait for tomorrow- mommy and daddy said it is a holiday! They even have a special outfit for me to wear tomorrow.

XOXO
Olivia
