Attack of the Bubbles

Every week at Gymboree Olivia gets attacked with the bubbles! Today I got a picture of it.  For some odd reason the bubbles just love to stick to her!

Olivia's 1st Party and Worst Ride Home EVER!

Today I took Olivia to her first party! It was a very warm day today- close to 70 degrees so no Christmas outfits for the party because they would have been way too hot.  The party was at our daycare providers home with all the other children and parents she takes care of.

So here is the journey:

On the way there Olivia was great.  She was playing, singing, and blowing raspberries.  She was even super smiley when I opened the truck door when we arrived.

The party- It was very nice to meet all of the other parents and children.  There were children of different ages so it was nice to see how all the kids interacted.  It was hard to eat and maintain Olivia.  I managed to get her to gnaw on some celery which kept her occupied for a few minutes.  Then Santa came! Our daycare provider's dad is a Santa Claus- they call him Ho Ho! So all the kids got to see Santa and take pictures.  We tried to do a group photo but that just was not happening!  But it was fun!

The ride home- HORRIBLE! I can't even begin to tell you how horrible the ride was.  I tried to feed Olivia before we left the party but I just think there was way too much going on.  So I knew I would get a little bit of tears...well it turned out to be another horrible screaming and crying LONG ride home.  I usually can get home from the daycare in 20- 30 minutes.  So about 10 minutes in to the ride Olivia started the whole crying deal.  I was like well we are 1/2 way home so not too bad.  Well I got stuck behind a dump truck going anywhere from 30-40 mph in a 55 mph. Plus he was swerving and braking lots too.   So this made the 10 minute usual ride into almost 30! It was probably one of the worst 30 minutes of my life.  The crying and screaming made me cry.  My nerves were shot once I got home!

The arrival home- I knew she was hungry and tried to feed her.  But she was so upset I had to wait another 20 minutes or so to get her settled.  She ate like a champ though!

One other thing she did tonight.  I had to go to the bathroom and usually Olivia will just follow me to the bathroom, well I thought she was right behind me like usual- nope she decided to stop at the stairs.  Not only stop there but crawl up one step.  It freaked me out! Guess we need to be more careful around the stairs now! I did try to get some video of her with some assisted stair climbing, she did pretty well!

But another lesson was learned today.  I cannot do everything on my own.  I think this would have been different if the other half was with me tonight.  So from now on, if it is something in the evening time we will have to both go.  I can't do the screaming and crying deal in the car. It is awful. Another lesson learned!

Dolly and Look Mom One Hand!

Olivia started playing with a doll today.  She examined her, then decided to pull her braids, chew on her foot, and bang her against anything and everything.  But she loved it.  Also she is starting to only use one hand to hold onto things.  She has let go twice- once at Gymboree last week and today.  Today she just fell on her bottom and she looked a little surprised.  Also she figured out that if she reaches up she can reach one handle on our built in desk and then reach up again to reach the next girl.  So now she can stand right next to the built ins- fun times!

Love my dolly!

Olivia- No bunny in the stroller!

Olivia going up and down

On the move all the time

Gone are the days of having a sedentary baby.  Olivia is on the move and getting into lots of things.  Amazingly she has not bothered the Christmas tree at all.  It will probably be a whole different story.  Olivia follows both of us everywhere we go.  She loves to go to the kitchen and play with her magnets on the fridge and today she started bringing them back with her to the living room.  She also loves to stand. She is really good at pulling herself up and then lowering herself back down slowly.  We have had a few falls but nothing too bad.  She is getting better when she stands and realizes when she is tired.  I think she is learning the words up and down and we practiced them with her stroller today- the video is uploading now! I know she probably doesn't make the correlation between the words but we keep repeating them!

Walk in the Park

Olivia was much better today.  She ate pretty good and took good naps! It was so nice outside today, 65 degrees in December!! Olivia told me she wanted to go for a walk! So after her lunch that is what we did.  We had a close encounter with some ducks- they were pretty close to the path.  The ducks even gave a Olivia some quacking!! It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine today!

After our walk today!

Projectile and Chili's

Oh what fun when I came home from work today...Today was my first experience with projectile vomit.  Yep... it was just like the exorcist.  Not sure what was going on with her today but she was not a good eater for her daddy at all.  After I got home she was eating her lunch and still giving a little fuss.  I went and changed her diaper and changed my clothes and was peeking in her mouth.  We are thinking she finally may be teething.  I saw what looked like a little white spot and thought maybe some Tylenol would make her feel better.  I was giving her the Tylenol and she was not happy about that either.  Then a few minutes later I was comforting her and heard that awful noise and thought she was getting the hiccups... nope out came the lunch... yogurt.  Yuck! Ugh it was gross, the worst thing I ever have witnessed and I screamed and Brendon came running.  We got it all cleaned up and her cleaned up and myself cleaned up and called the doctor.  They said a stomach bug was going around and try some Pedialyte later on... she didn't want that when we tried it.  She did eat like a horse tonight though- I guess she was finally hungry.  So hopefully this will go away.

We decided to go out to dinner at Chili's tonight.  Olivia did great.  She sat really good in the high chair and played with her toys.  She loved looking around at all the people and the servers going back and forth.  So we now can go out to eat with Olivia! Yay!

Playing in the leaves

Well we probably waited too long to play in the leaves outside.  It was a bit chilly today and the leaves were a tad wet.  We weren't sure how Olivia would react...well it wasn't her favorite thing in the world to do.  So it was a very quick leaf playing experience! I guess next year we will have to do it earlier and when it is a bit warmer!

Jake saying, "Give it a chance Olivia."

Not too sure if I like this!

Help!

I don't like this!

Ok a little better...

Daddy's turn...

Daddy trying to show Olivia a leaf

I don't want to play in the leaves...I want to play with no pants on!

Funny bed head after her afternoon nap!

Playing with my stroller.  Theresa gave us a great idea so it doesn't tip over...put a weight in it!
