Good Lunch and Puddle Jumper

Olivia asked for some specifics for lunch- peanut butter, apples, and raisins.  I then convinced her to have some yogurt and she got one Oreo.  While eating her Oreo she said, "O-R-E-O spells cookie!" Gotta love her! She had lunch mess all over her face.  She can now independently go in the bathroom downstairs and clean up.  She can wash her hands and gets a washcloth to wash her face! Makes life a bit easier for us!

Signs of a good lunch- smiles and a messy face!

It was warm this afternoon so we took Olivia in the pool before her nap since we had an early lunch and we were hot from playing outside.  We bought a Puddle Jumper last week based on some recommendations from friends.  I was unsure if she would even put it on.  At first she said no and then I finally got her to wear it the other night.  So we got all ready for the pool and what do you know she loves the Puddle Jumper.  We practiced floating and did lots of kicking and splashing.  She did eventually get comfortable and let go of my hands and floated on her own. Trust me I was right there with her.  The only thing we need to work on is NOT drinking the pool water! Yuck!

Pigtail Day

Olivia finally is letting me do stuff to her hair.  With all this running back and forth to the potty and being warmer she is letting me do her hair.  Of course she remembers from my mom being here...she says to sit on her step stool like Mema.  So I have gotten lots of ponytails and today she said she wanted pigtails.  So pigtails it was! I am starting to get better with her hair...it is so crazy curly that it is hard sometimes to make it even and contain the curls.  The best part is when I take them out for her nap she loves to shake her head.  It is funny.

Ii took Olivia to go grocery shopping with me and she did great.  We didn't even have to use the potty at Kroger...thank goodness.  BUT I should have had  her go as soon as we got home...that was when she had a little accident when I was putting the groceries away.  Now I know for next time.  I also promised Olivia that we would go swimming after her nap...ugh...when she got up it was thunder storming...so maybe tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Lamby and 1st Trip to the dentist

Olivia decided today was Lamby's birthday.  We had a birthday party for her this morning with the cupcakes that her friend Kenny gave her.  We had all of Lamby's friends over! What a fun time!

Then this morning we took Olivia to the dentist for the first time.  She did great!! The hygienist showed Olivia all the tools she would use.  Then they cleaned her teeth.  They had me lay her down and put her head in the hygienist's lap and I held her arms.  The cleaning was quick and we had just a few tears towards the end but overall she did great.  Then the dentist came in and looked at her teeth too.  Olivia cried just a little bit towards the end of that part but she was happy when she got a balloon and a new toothbrush! They didn't do any x-rays today since Olivia doesn't have all her teeth.  I thought a few weeks ago when she was pretty fussy that the 2 year molars were coming in... I guess not! She said not to be concerned unless she turns 4 and doesn't have them.  But I was proud of her during the visit!

Busy Wednesday

Olivia had a minor accident when she woke up today...I think she forgot she doesn't wear a diaper.  By the time she came running and saying she needed to go she already started.  Nut she slept all night!

Olivia went and spent some time at Susan's house this morning.  She went packed with extra clothes and undies.  She had 2 small accidents there which I feel is good since she was going potty with someone besides us.  Plus there are other children there so she wasn't the center of attention.  While Olivia was at Susan's I had my eye doctor appointment.  All was well except that I need new glasses! Which is good and bad at that same time.  The doctor said my cataracts look good and there was just a slight change in vision just enough to get a new prescription.

After Susan's Olivia took a nap and then we went to Gymboree.  We had dinner with Griffin and then saw lots of our friends.  The theme was transportation- cars, trucks, buses. It was fun to see ALL of the kids at one point in playing with the cars.  It was a true test of sharing and playing together.

Tuesday, Tuesday...

This morning we had Kindermusik class so we got up early and got ready to go.  Olivia had lots of fun at class as usual.

When we got home from Kindermusik we opened a gift from Kenny because he couldn't come to Olivia's party.  It is a Melissa and Doug cupcake decorating pretend play set.  It is awesome! She loves it.  It has a mini-cupcake pan- holds 4 cupcakes, cupcake holders, an oven mitt, cupcakes, frosting, candles, and pretending icing/sprinkles.  Olivia loved it.  We would decorate them, put the candles on them and then sing Happy Birthday to someone and blowing out the candles!

Then we played outside a bit before lunch.  We did a lot of bubbles today!! Then after her nap and snack I took her in the pool.  She loves the pool.  We ordered her a puddle jumper so maybe she will be jumping in the pool before we know it this summer.  She does enjoy her little boat she calls it better than last year.  After we got out of the pool we were drying off in our towels and watched a lizard for awhile.  It even changed colors from green to brown while we watched it.  It was so cool!

We had NO accidents today and wore the same underwear!!! YAY! It is getting better.

Happy Birthday Kenny!

Olivia had a great night! We got up once to use the potty and she went right back to bed and stayed dry!  We actually wore the same pair of underwear ALL day!! We were so proud of her!.  We are also proud of our friend Griffin since he is wearing underwear too!!

Olivia helped me do some dusting and vacuuming upstairs today.  She was a a good duster and helped with her vacuum!

After lunch we went outside for a little bit and did some chalk.  Then after her nap we went to Gymboree for our friend Kenny's birthday! We had a great time! Olivia is such a monkey!! It was good to see our friends and we saw Griffin.  Griffin and Olivia did awesome in the underwear! Neither of them had accidents and rode in the car with no problem!! Such a big day for them!!  After the party we even celebrated by going to Chilis.  We are so proud of Olivia and every day seems to be improving!

The Surprise

We had a pretty rough time getting to sleep last night...took until about 10:30 and multiple trips to the potty.  I knew she had to go poop but she was being so stubborn about it.   Olivia did fine after that.  She got up about 4:30 again and we made a trip to the potty and then back to bed.

Our plan was to go to church this morning but with Olivia not having gone poop, I was getting worried about the whole situation.  I stopped at Walgreens to get some things to help her poop and then went for a run.  I told Brendon to take her outside and take her mind off the potty too.  She had 2 small accidents outside.  When I went to leave the park I checked my phone and Brendon said she finally went.  Thank goodness! I felt better and I am sure she did too.  After lunch we played outside for about 30 minutes with no accidents! Then she took a nap with no accidents! It is getting better...the whole poop thing is crazy.  Sorry to discuss poop so much....

We had a pretty good thunderstorm this afternoon.  Olivia talked about the booms and lightning and was ok with the storm.  She did say she was scared of the booms but she didn't cry or anything.  Then we made a batch of cookies and decorated them and had dinner.

Now for the surprise...I told Brendon how much trouble I had last night getting her to go to bed.  She started doing the same thing she did last night.  So he went up there and scooped her up for the potty...well he got the surprise of his life...poop fell out of Olivia's underwear.  All I heard downstairs was some really loud "Yucky!" from him.   So I ran up there and the poop landed on her step stool.  Olivia was pretty upset about it.  Then she said the craziest things like, "We need a new steppy stool."  "I got poop on daddy" "I got poopy in my underwear...need to buy new ones."  It was quite comical her reaction after I started giggling about it.

Cookie time! Very proud of her cookies!
