The Poops and Sprinkler Fun

Olivia had the poops today...so gross.  Eventually I decided for underwear's sake to put a Pull-Up on.  It was just so messy to clean...yuck! But then she wouldn't go in them...so she pooped on the potty! YAY!! Then I bought Olivia a new Curious George book- Curious George Saves his Pennies.  In the back of the book there was a paper piggy bank...score! So guess who wanted to go potty and put a penny in it...Olivia! YAY! She had zero accidents tonight! She had some banana and toast for dinner and was acting normal so hopefully no more poops.

Since the sun was actually out but the pool was too cold, I decided it was sprinkler time! She had a great time and capturing these sweet moments was so sweet.

Big Storm...Proud Mama

It was another early day and we were all tired again! Olivia did a great job at Susan's house today! We took naps and then went to get gas and to Kindermusik.  The sun was actually shining today! I was so happy and so was everyone.  A little sunshine does the soul good! It was nice and sunny when we got to Kindermusik.  As class went on, I noticed it getting darker outside...just some dark clouds.  Well when it was time to leave...it was a monsoon.  So we ran to the car and Olivia said she was scared of the big rain.  In my head I said, "This is going to be a great ride home....not!!!"  Other than traffic moving super slow which was good in a way...it was a monsoon the whole way home.  I felt like someone was throwing buckets of water at the windshield every second!  The good thing though was that Olivia was AWESOME the whole way home!! She didn't cry once or do anything.  Every time I checked on her though her eyes were as wide as saucers! Then she would say, "Big rain! Little rain!" I was just glad to make it home safely and ironically there was not one drop of rain here at our house! But I was so proud of Olivia for not crying the whole way home!

Feels like Seattle

Yesterday was a really long day and I didn't get home until 8:30 p.m. and was exhausted.  The beginning of the school year is always crazy...too much to do ...not enough time.  With changing grade levels again and all the normal stuff that goes with school...it gets tiring.  ut it was great to see our students' parents again last night and let them know all about our classroom.

This morning was even more tiring...it felt like I just left school when I got there this morning.  Of course the rain didn't help.  It really does feel like we live in Seattle. It did finally get sunny later this afternoon but the grass is so wet you can't play in that and the mosquitoes are so bad that it makes playing outside unpleasant! They say there will be sunshine this weekend...but still that is 2 days away and we all could use some sunshine!

Stubborn Monday

Brendon and Olivia went to Gymboree and Olivia was stubborn.  She didn't want to do the activities and was being stubborn...she didn't even go potty while she was there.

When I got home she was still being stubborn...she didn't want to eat lunch and still didn't want to go potty.  With some convincing she finally went.  She ate some things off my plate but not really lunch. Then she didn't want to nap...but it took her almost 40 minutes to finally nap.

She continued being stubborn about dinner...but she ate it.  She was stubborn and screamed and cried about getting her nails cut (not my favorite mom job either!). The she screamed and cried all through her bath.  The theme today...stubborn! Not my favorite!

Hooray for Daddy!

Well we were all blessed with Olivia sleeping in...we never set the alarm anymore on the weekends because Olivia wakes up at 6:30 a.m. on the dot.  Well today I woke up at 7:22 and she was still sleeping.  So I went and woke her up because we were going to church this morning.  She was a bit cranky getting ready for church but was fine once we got in the car and got to church.

After church we played and ate.  We put on our rain boots again and put some food out for the birds.  Then it was nap time.  Jake did a stellar job of waking up Olivia by busting in her room after about 30 minutes and then she was up.  Lovely...thanks Jake!

Since it was still yucky today Brendon decided to try to get the ball out of the sub-woofer that Olivia put in there.  Well neither of us could reach our arm all the way in to get it.  So Brendon got the vacuum out and sucked the ball out.  But then as he upright the speaker he heard another sound...there was another ball in there.  This time it was a ball from this gumball machine toy Olivia had as a baby.  So he tried with the vacuum but couldn't get it.  Finally I suggested taking off the vacuum attachment and that had enough suction to get it.  Olivia was so happy.  She was saying hooray for daddy, you did it!! She was very excited.

Before dinner Olivia and Brendon played outside and even played some baseball.  The bugs were so bad though!! Olivia was not happy at first about dinner but then ate almost all of it and then had ice cream.

The biggest hooray for daddy was that Olivia didn't cry tonight when he gave her a bath.  She cries all the time when he gives her a bath.  So we said if she didn't cry tonight we would give her something for her piggy bank....well it worked...she didn't cry and was laughing and having a good time.  but it made me feel better that she didn't cry.  I know it is a change from her routine that she has the other 5 nights but we feel it is important for her to have both of us give her a bath.  But hip, hip, hooray for daddy tonight!!
