No plan Saturday

Olivia woke up early at 5 am calling out my name and was upset.  Finally got her back to bed but that dampened my plan of getting up early to run.  After breakfast I ended up running about 10 a.m. which is usually late for July...but it was overcast and sprinkling...again.  I met Brendon and Olivia  at Home Depot and we looked at some tile for our possible bathroom remodel.  Then we went to Lowes and looked at more tile.  Then home for lunch and Olivia ate a good lunch.  I ran some errands while Olivia napped and when I got home Olivia was helping Brendon "rake" the grass.  The grass was so heavy today and there was a ton to rake! Then we had dinner and Olivia got all weird after drinking her milk.  I think she drank it too fast...she is a milkaholic.  She was crying and screaming that she needed to go to bed and then was saying her tummy hurt.  She even pointed where it hurt...I think she had some gas and needed to burp.  Finally I got her to relax and she was fine and was fine the rest of the night!

P.S. Olivia had her first big no no- she stuck a ball in the hole of the subwoofer...it has yet to be found!

Garden Goodies

Olivia and I went grocery shopping today and has such a great time.  She does so good at the grocery store!

After unloading the groceries and lunch we went outside.  Brendon informed us that he was going to pick blueberries so we went and helped.  Then he picked some green beans and Olivia and I picked some tomatoes.  We can't wait to have blueberry pancakes this weekend!! Yummy!!!

I worked a bit more on Olivia's bathroom.  It is almost done...I need to get some pictures for the walls.  It is a bit echoey in there.  When I get the wall art up I will take some pictures!

5 Little Monkeys

Olivia got a new book from Kindermusik...5 Little Monkeys.  It has been her new favorite book and song.  She likes to sing it and read it all the time.  She just had to bring it in bed with her this morning.  Tonight I wanted to get her in action with it but we couldn't find the book.  We looked EVERYWHERE! Finally I remembered this morning she was playing in the kitchen cabinets...tada! We found it.

I think it is hilarious at the end of the movie that she says she wants Griffin!

Being 2 is tough!

The terrible twos have kicked in plus with traveling and guests we are off our routine we usually do.  Last night we had lots of crying and screaming before bed.  It was almost 9:45 before she fell asleep and got settled.  Olivia woke up right where she left off last night.  Oh the crying and screaming this morning was top notch.  She was crying and screaming about everything.  Finally she settled down when she got some milk and breakfast.  Then she was fine the rest of the day!

We met Griffin and Kenny for dinner and went to Gymboree! Olivia loved the one activity where she walked up the air log and then jumped off.  She did it like 5 times she loved it so much! It was good to see our friends at class!

Empathy from a 2 Year Old

Today we were sad when Mema and Pepa had to leave to go back to New York.  There was time this morning to take Olivia to Kindermusik and Mema came with us.  Olivia was a bit on the shy side today and didn't want to participate as much as she usually does.  But she eventually warmed up and was fine and had some fun.

We came home and Mema and Pepa got packed up.  While they were packing I was explaining to Olivia that Mema and Pepa were going to leave and go on an airplane.  She did her zoom zoom noise and pretended to fly with her arm.  I know she wasn't exactly understanding what I was saying but in her way she was.

After they left I was a bit teary-eyed and Olivia saw my tears.  She looked at me and said, "Your sad." I replied that I was sad because Mema and Pepa left and that I miss them.  She then said, "You need a tissue, I will go get you one." I was kind of blown away that she understood the emotion of being sad and to get a tissue.  When she brought me the tissue she also gave me a hug.  It was so sweet.

Mema and Pepa arrived safely at home. The house here is quiet...it will take a few days to get used to.

Stone Mountain

I had an early dentist appointment and when I left it was so nice outside. when I came home I suggested we go to Stone Mountain.  We got everything together...picnic included. We zoomed off to the park.  We bought tickets to ride the train, skylift, and the plantation/farm.

We had such a great time and it was so nice...even a little hot! I even fell on the top of the mountain...I am so clutzy! I slipped on some water as I tried to go under the pavilion...and I was holding Olivia...my main goal was don't drop Olivia!!

When we got home we went for a swim and Olivia did not want to nap.  Well she fell asleep on the way to dinner at Local Republic...therefore she wasn't very happy there and didn't eat much.  The food was sooo good though!

Flying the Plane

Olivia loves airplanes...we all know that! But her Pepa loves airplanes too.  He loves them sooo much we now have a RC airplane here to fly.  The weather has been so rainy we haven't been able to fly it.  There was a break in the rain so we quick got in the car after church and zoomed off to Tribble Mill Park which has a nice open meadow to fly kites and planes.

It was a bit cloudy but we got the plane up and flew it.  Olivia loved it.  Pepa did some loopdy loops and even crashed it in the tree! All is good...Brendon climbed the tree and saved the plane.  We even ran into our friends Mark, Michelle, and Ethan at the park and Brendon got Olivia's kite up too.  We had a few minutes to go to the playground and Olivia played on the slides and swingies!

A parade, a birthday party, rain, and no fireworks

We had a busy day today!  We went to the rescheduled Loganville 4th of July parade. It rained a tiny bit when we were there but had a fun time.  We saw lots of tractors and funny cars.

After the parade I took Olivia to her friend Alyssa's birthday party.  It rained, it got sunny, a little bit of everything but we had a great time!

On the way home the sun came out! Hooray and we even got in the pool!!

We had a great Mexican dinner and got ready to attempt to see some fireworks. We got all ready, got to the park and were walking and playing.  Then the dark clouds came rolling in...cue the lightning and thunder...and the torrential rain.  We sat in the car for a few minutes and then decided to come home.  It wasn't worth waiting in the car... plus the ground was all wet now anyways!  So no fireworks =(

The only happy person in the car!

I don't like fireworks

Well it was another rainy day...more work on Olivia's bathroom was done.  We kept Olivia up for some fireworks on our street.  Last year she did great when we watched fireworks...I guess we were far from the booms.  This year she sat through about 3 and she was done.  We will have to try to take her again somewhere and not be too close!

Rainy Day PlayDoh
Sitting for about 5 mins to watch the fireworks and then was done!

4th of July

3th of July started early! I got up at 3:15 a.m. and was out the door at 4:30 to be at my friends house to go to the Peachtree Road Race.  I admit I did not sleep well the night before...nerves, rain, and everyone else being up doesn't help.  So I probably slept about 3 hours at the most.  It was a wet morning and we got to wait in our friends Joan's and Tina's hotel room before the start of the race.  It was nice...we were prepared though...ponchos, extra shoes, and socks.  I had a great run...a new PR for a 10K of 55:28! I was so proud of myself.  I wish I could of been a bit faster though...but I felt great most of the race!

After the race we headed home for some lunch and playing.  I was sooo tried and all I wanted to do was nap.  By the time Olivia went down I was ready to sleep too.  I guess everyone didn't get that message so I was grouchy that everyone was so loud, I had Jake in the bedroom because he was forgotten by the awake people and I had the monitor on.  Needless to say I was grouchy and tired and annoyed by dinner time and it was raining...again...

After dinner I worked more in Olivia's bathroom...we took down all the wall paper and painted.  Then we gave Olivia a bath and got her ready for bed.  I guess no one gave me the memo that they were leaving for fireworks...after I got Olivia down, Jake ran upstairs and I came downstairs and no one was there.  Jake usually parks himself on the couch for the night at this point.  So I just went and worked in her bathroom and then went to bed.
