This and that

This is kind of a hodgepodge of today. Olivia seems to be feeling fine. We played lots today and she really loves music! When she woke up from her afternoon nap she had a little boo boo on her face. She scratched herself while napping. She is really figuring out her hands and working on the eye hand coordination. Sometimes that coordination just isn't there yet hence the boo boo!

Blueberries, Blueberries! Finally after a few years we have finally gotten a crop of blueberries. Each year we have gotten a handful or less. One year we literally got about 4 and put 2 in each pancake! This year we have a bowl full!

Today I went and ran my first 5K in over a year. I wasn't going for any personal record or anything but more of the mental aspect that I can get back out there and run. I know my body is not in the condition it was a year ago and I know it is going to take awhile to get it back. Trust me I am frustrated enough with it and really want to wear my regular clothes. So I went and ran a race this morning and tried not to mentally defeat myself. But I ran the whole race and had a time of 31:22 which is about 3-4 minutes off my last years pace. I was disappointed with my time and literally got in the car once I was done. Little did I know that I actually won my age group! I just thought that was funny once I got home and saw that. So hopefully next week for the Peachtree I can keep a good pace like today. I was just going for a consistent pace and that is what I got!

Olivia's first visit to the ER

Yesterday I noticed Olivia was going to the bathroom more often- I was doing several diaper changes more often than normal. When I took her to he pediatrician and finally got a sample- which was a nightmare itself. Let's just say that watching your child scream and cry in pain is not the most fun thing ever. She was crying and I was crying too! The doctor noticed that her specific gravity was off which meant she was not concentrating her urine so she had us to to the ER last night. Thankfully Brendon met me there. She had all sorts of tests done and everything came back normal. We were scared though. Now we just have to document when we are changing diapers and how saturated they are by weighing them. Never in my life did I imagine weighing diapers! I have weighed lots of stuff but never wet diapers!

We just love our little girl so much (and we know lots of people love her too) and we were so scared. It was better for us to go- It is better to be safe than sorry. We waited so long to be blessed with her and we just want her to have a happy and healthy life.

Here is Olivia this morning with all her bandages! Poor thing! She was pretty tired today but still happy!!

Hand Sandwich makes me sleepy

Cutie Pie Bows

Finally Olivia's hair bows arrived! It only took about 3 weeks to get. Don't get me wrong they are super cute but I will probably never order from them if I am in a hurry. I have no idea what she was fascinated by but I was able to put all the different bows in her hair without her even noticing.

Here are her new bows!

Also grandma bought some new bows too! I will have to get some pictures of those too! She wore one the other night at the Blue Willow Inn with her dress.

3 Months Old

We can't believe our baby girl is 3 months old!! How time flies. We don't go for a 3 month check up so we tried to do our own weight check this morning. We think she weighs 11.5 pounds at least that was the difference on the scale. She is growing and changing so fast.

We had to try several locations for the 3 month shot.

Happy Fathers Day

Last year on fathers day when all the fathers stood up for a prayer I got upset because I was supposed to be a dad. After many prayers from me and Melissa God gave us a miracle we named Olivia Caroline Barth. I am so happy and proud to have the most important job in the world, being a dad. Brendon enjoyed his first fathers day with his daughter, wife, father, and mother. We went to church and got to visit the crying room for the first time. Olivia got fussy for about 20 minutes during mass and visited the glass room. After church we had pancakes with homegrown blueberries. Dinner was ribs, corn, and beans smoked by Brendon on the smoker. We got to swim a bit and Olivia even went for a swim with dad. What a great way to spend a special day.

I got to meet Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Barth arrived yesterday afternoon. After I woke up from a nap I got to visit them. After a little play time we went out to dinner for Mom and Dads anniversary.
