Happy Birthday Karson!

This is the 2nd attempt at writing this...the first attempt was interrupted by Olivia saying she needed to poop...which nothing happened.

I admit I was a nervous nelly about leaving the house today with Olivia.  She did pretty well last night.  She had a little accident about 4:30 a.m. and then had trouble getting back to sleep.  I slept on her floor for a bit.

Thank goodness Karson's party was close to our house.  I packed a new "big girl" bag with a million pairs of underwear and 2 changes of clothes.  I just didn't know what to expect to happen! When we arrived at the park I took Olivia to the potty and thankfully she went.  Too bad about 5 minutes later while we were playing she had an accident.  So we got her changed and all was good.  Then she kept having to go.  The bathroom is not close to the playground so I got my workout. Finally after the 4th or 5th time, Brendon took her twice.  I am hoping this gets better soon because I felt we were in the bathroom the whole time.  Granted she went everytime but I am hoping she learns to hold it more.  We had lunch at the party and a cupcake.  Karson really loved his presents...he got lots of new outdoor toys!

After the party we came home and Olivia helped me clean up the deck a bit.  Since the top deck got pressure washed the stuff below was all dirty.  So we scrubbed and washed.  Then Olivia took a nap with no accidents! Actually we had no accidents all night.  She just needs to poop.  Poor thing! She has just got to let it go!

Potty Training Day 3

Well last night Olivia did great! She woke up dry and didn't have any accidents.  When she woke up today I scooped her up and put her right on the potty and she went! I was so happy! I thought we got it at this point.  Well she watched Dinosaur Train in the bed with us and then I brought her downstairs.  I kept prompting her to tell me when she had to go and I was trying to make her something to eat and then she had an accident.  We changed underwear and started all over.  Maybe we don't have it after all...

I really want Olivia to feel comfortable with both of us taking her to the restroom so we went against the training guide today...I left to grocery shop.  Well when I was gone she had 3 more accidents.  The guide says you need to be next to her the whole time and Brendon decided to wash some dishes and Olivia was under the kitchen table and got stuck....and there ya go.  Next to you means right next to you.

She did great during her nap...no accidents and woke up dry.  But then we went back to the crying on the potty when she had to go.  She never did poop today...so hopefully she will go tomorrow.  But the rest of the night it consisted of running back and forth to the bathroom.  There was one minor damp situation but no accidents.  She went before her bath and several times before bed! It will be interesting to see what will happen tonight.

I am paranoid since we have to leave the house tomorrow for a birthday party...I admit I am already freaking out about it. I hope it isn't too much of a disaster....

Potty Training Day #2

I admit I was a bit of a skeptic about this method.  I felt last night that yesterday was a disaster and maybe we should wait awhile longer to potty train her.

I did what the directions said and woke her after 1 hour of sleeping last night and sat her on the potty.  Well that didn't work.  She didn't go and then after she was in bed for about 2 minutes then wet the bed. Grr.... start over with tears and wanting me to lay on the floor in her room.  I did that for about 15 minutes and she was out.  About 1:40 a.m. she woke again and said she had yucky in her underwear.  So Brendon and I changed her and changed the sheets again.  We didn't hear from her until 6:30 a.m. and she was damp and not soaked and the bed was dry.  So not too bad.

Today went a bit better.  There were a few minor accidents and just one big one after Olivia and I made some muffins.  She peed on the chair when I went to wash the dishes.  That was around 11 a.m. and that was the last pair of underwear I put on her until she took a bath tonight.  No accidents and everything went into the potty! She did one poop today in the potty and we were so proud of her and she earned lots of stickers both upstairs and downstairs! We called Pepa and told him all about it and Mema called to check on her too.

I don't know what to expect tonight...she has gone pee pee 4 times after her bath and has gotten out of bed 3 of those times.  At the moment she is still stirring and not asleep.  So we will see what happens tonight and hope for a better day 3...but we are so proud of her so far!!  I feel a bit better tonight about the whole process and I wasn't as frustrated today as I was yesterday.  Tired....yes...I think we may have warn a path in the carpet running to the bathroom!

Some of the stickers she earned today...there were 4 yesterday...so she got a lot today and this is just the downstairs bathroom!

Lamby Surgery and Potty Training Day 1

The potty fairy came and visited us today.  she dropped off a box and it had new underwear, books, and big girl wipes.  Olivia threw away all her diapers and then we put on underwear.  We prompted her to tell us when she had to go potty.  Well this girl can hold it! She held it almost 3 hours.  Then it was a disaster.  Lots of underwear were yucky...just pee in them.  We did have some success on the potty though! We had some pees and one big poop! There was some crying off and on and I know she is tired of me saying, "Tell mommy when you need to go potty." "Keep your underwear dry" etc. etc. etc.  At one point I wanted to quit because I felt like I was a horrible mom and making her do this.  I am hoping tomorrow is better.  I even cried myself at one point but Brendon told me I was doing a good job and to stay strong.

In other news Lamby had a successful surgery this morning and is all repaired.  She had quite the recovery nap even with a balloon!

1st Official Day of Summer!

Today was the first day of no work! Olivia got up really early- 6:05 a.m.!! She fell back asleep with us for a bit.  We had to get up at 7:15 in order to get ready for Kindermusik.  We had so much fun back at Kindermusik! We had to zip out of there before class was over because I had an appointment to get my hair cut. I literally dropped her off at the top of the driveway to Brendon and zoomed to the salon.  While Olivia napped today I cleaned some of the bathrooms and will finish tomorrow.  I also made her 1st dental appointment for next week.  I am a bit nervous about it.  I am sure it will be fine though.  After her nap Olivia now likes to have her snack outside.  So we had snack outside and then played in the sandbox and with bubbles.  I got a great shot with the camera of her blowing bubbles!!

Memorial Day 2013

I had to look back to see what we did last Memorial Day...it was pretty boring.  I ran the Dacula Memorial Day 5K this morning.  I always forget how hilly it is! Ahhh...and they had no water out on the course.  It wasn't that hot but some water would have been refreshing.  I didn't stay for the results because if you do then you get stuck there through the parade. Not really a big fan of parades at the moment.  Plus Olivia and Brendon were going to Gymboree.

After they got home we had a picnic lunch in the yard. Brendon had to work today so that was our Memorial day cookout.  We had hotdogs, cucumber salad, watermelon, and I made a delicious pear, blueberry, strawberry crisp!

Olivia napped and after she woke up and had a snack we went in the pool.  The pool was a bit warmer than yesterday and she liked being in her boat.  She did some kicking too.  Once it is warmer it will feel so much better taking her in.  But she does like it!

Forgot to add this yesterday! Swimming in the pool 2013!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Today we celebrated Ethan's 2nd birthday! It was a Sesame Street themed birthday.  Olivia had the perfect outfit...her Elmo dress.  It is a pillow case dress, so it was a little short but with some longer shorts underneath it was perfect.  The weather was perfect too.  Not a cloud in the sky.  We wore lots of sunscreen.  Ethan recently got a new swing set so the kids had lots of fun playing on it and under it with the sand.  We had such a great time today!!

After we came home and Olivia napped, we got her in the pool.  Even though jaws the thermometer said 78 it was a bit chilly.  We didn't stay in long with her.  We tried her little vest and she liked it and liked her boat floaty.  But she was shivering so we took her out.  Then we played outside for a bit longer! It was a great Sunday!
