Super Saturday

Today I had a super Saturday.  I woke up and ate breakfast with mommy and daddy and then grandma came down.  Grandma and I played a lot.  Then mommy, grandma, and I went to Kroger for groceries.  I was a really good girl in the shopping cart.  After shopping I took a nap.  Then I ate lunch and then we all played outside for quite awhile.  I pushed my lion all over and had some standing on my own.  I even got to see my godparents too! I then read books with grandma on the porch before my nap.  Then I napped and ate dinner.  I was a little cranky after dinner but once I had milk and ate I was better.  I had fun in the bathtub and then went happily asleep! I can't wait until tomorrow and the Easter Bunny comes!!

Waiting for Grandma and Grandpa

Today I waited all day for my grandma and grandpa to come.  They came right before I went to take a bath.  Grandma came in the bathroom with us.  It was so good to see them.

While we waited for them we played inside and outside, worked on some crafts for Easter, and I wasn't too whiny today.  Mommy didn't even give me any medicine today!

I can't wait to play with grandma and grandpa tomorrow!

Opening Day of Baseball

Today the Braves had their opener against the Mets and Olivia and Daddy watched some of the game until daddy had to go to work.  Olivia was actually watching it and the funny thing was that she clapped when she heard other people clapping!

This morning was a disaster.  Crying, whining and all sorts of fuss.  I went out this morning and bought some infant Ibuprofen.  I gave that to her before bed tonight.  I tried taking her temperature again but it registered her not having a fever but still she was sweaty.  The teeth on the top have broken through the skin and it looks like the bottom ones will be right behind those.

This afternoon was better.  We went outside for a bit after her nap and played.  She ate a really good dinner.  She had bananas, sweet potatoes, chicken, and a couple of bites of a biscuit.  That made me feel better since she was really liking anything else today- except she drank all her milk.  Today I gave her bottles because I think that is easier with all the teeth coming in and once all the fuss is over then go back to sippy cups. The teeth are more important than the sippy cup conversion at this point!

Here's hoping to a better tomorrow!!

Poor Baby!

Olivia had 2 wake ups last night with some crying even with the Tylenol I gave her before bed.  She woke up around 11:00 p.m. but soothed herself back to sleep and again at 3:00ish and went back to sleep.  I looked in her mouth this morning and the 3 top teeth are just breaking through but the 2 bottom ones look like they are almost about to pop through too.  Poor baby! She was alright this morning and we went to Gymboree.  They said we can graduate to the next level! I am going to do one more week of the Level 2/3 combo and then go up to Level 3.  Olivia took one step today when I went to give her Godparents a thank you card.  We all clapped and cheered for her- she looked at us like we were crazy! After lunch she got pretty warm- after several attempts at trying to take her temperature- we thought she was ok- I got three different temperatures and Brendon got one that I got.  She took a pretty good nap though this afternoon.  Not the best eater for dinner though but she drank all her milk before bed! Milk does a body good.  Tomorrow we will start 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk.  YAY!

Being whiny

5 seconds later...not whining

Tried the exersaucer for a bit...then got this...

What's All the Fuss???

Holy fussiness today! It started with breakfast- crying and not wanting to eat anything- throwing everything on the floor.  I tried oatmeal, fruit, cinnamon toast, and banana and she may have had a few bites of each and that's it.  Then she just would fuss off and on.  Finally before her nap I gave her some Tylenol.  She took a pretty good nap.  She fussed a little at lunch but not as bad as breakfast.  I decided to take her out this afternoon to see if that would help. So we went to Hallmark and Tractor Supply (they are right next door to each other).  She was good at Hallmark and then had a big surprise at Tractor Supply.  Around Easter they sell baby chicks.  So we went and checked them out.  One of the sweet boys working there even took one out for her to touch.  She touched it and actually smiled! It was so cute! I wish I had my camera! Then we had a snack when we got home and then I tried to get her to nap.  NO WAY! She cried and fussed.  So I just got her up- I  let her cry it out for a bit but then just went and got her.  So we did some playing downstairs and she watched me cook dinner.  I finally got her to sit on my lap and I got her to open her mouth and I saw 3 top teeth were coming in! So that was what all the fuss was about!! When it came time for her dinner she woofed down some green beans.  I couldn't stop her from shoving them in so I gave her more! Hey if that is what she wants to eat then eat the green beans.  She threw the mashed potatoes on the floor but did eat some chicken.

The biggest surprise was after dinner. We were watching the news and she climbed up on my lap.  I then gently placed her on the ground in front of me and then she took 2 independent steps toward her kitchen! I was in total shock! I clapped and cheered for her.  She had no idea what she just did.  But she didn't do it anymore the rest of the night! So yay some first steps! I was getting worried that they were not going to happen anytime soon so at least we are going one step in the right direction!!

Purple Polka Dot Kind of Day

Today was a purple polka dot kind of day.  Olivia was a little fussy this morning and I got her to open her mouth just so I can peek in and I think I saw that 5 teeth are about to come in.  There are some nice flat spots that look like the teeth might pop through.  That may be why she was a little fussy this morning.  She took two good naps though.  We did some playing outside before dinner and that's about it for today.

My new favorite book

And were off!

Olivia playing in the sprinkler

Olivia's 1st time in the sprinkler!

We did the right thing

This morning we took Olivia to church for Palm Sunday.  They started the mass outside which was really nice.  We then sat in the church and then Olivia started talking.  I know that I can't control her talking and we did our best until we got to the reading of the Passion.  I knew then in order to respect the other people of the church that we should go to the crying room- there was no way she could sit quietly during the Passion.  The crying room if you don't know what it is, is a room in the back of the church where you can go if your child is crying etc. during the church service but still participate in the mass.  Well, when we walked in there it was full, so we squeezed into a pew that was facing the wrong way and turned around for the remainder of the service.  Olivia continued to talk and play and we tried to keep her quiet.  I saw the stares and glares from the other people in there and even one boy turned around and shushed us.  But as a parent we had every right to be in there!!!  The other people that were in there had older children who did not belong in there, which upset me because here we were doing what we were supposed to do by being in the crying room and I am feeling out of place because of the other people.  Thankfully at the end of the service the priest made the announcement that if you don't have a crying or loud child, then you should NOT be sitting in there.  I am not sure if he saw us or maybe word has gotten to him about it at other masses.  But thank you Father Jim for not making me feel guilty by being in there- we did the right thing and had every right to be there.

After church we had breakfast, Olivia had a nap, and we did the usual reading of the Sunday paper.  After Olivia had lunch we took her outside to try out her sprinkler! It was 80 degrees today so it was perfect.  She was a little nervous at first but once she got used to it- she loved it! After she played in it, then she had a snack on the porch.  She was so stinkin cute! She sat in her little chair and ate her snack and drank her water.  She even tried a bite of Brendon's frozen lemonade and she like it.  Olivia then went for a nap and Brendon decided to open the pool while I was at Target.  So I guess it is time to swim!
