Christmas Eve

What a wonderful day!!  Our hearts and stomachs are full of joy, laughter and blessings.  We woke up and had a great morning and afternoon.  Even the Bills won today! We went to church this afternoon and Olivia was quite the wiggle worm and talker.  I took her out once just cause she was a little too loud.  She also was smacking her lips like crazy.  We then had a wonderful prime rib dinner with our family (our neighbors/Olivia's Godparents).  It was such a nice dinner and everyone got some homemade gifts from Olivia! It was so nice to spend the evening with them, it was full of fun and laughter... and a little whining/crying from Olivia.  Brendon and I felt so happy and blessed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus tonight!!

Up, Down and Festivus

Olivia is really getting the hang of up and down.  She goes up and down on just about everything.  We are very excited for Christmas Eve and Christmas.  She even wore some Christmas theme jammies to bed tonight!

For all of you celebrating Festivus we hope you aired your grievances, performed your feats of strength, and admired your Festivus pole! Happy Festivus! All Olivia got was a donation to the Human Fund =(

Olivia knows best!

I attempted to go on another adventure this evening with Olivia.  The past 2 years Brendon and I decided to bring his employees a nice home cooked meal around the holidays.  I REALLY wanted to go and eat dinner with them.  All day we cooked and prepared a delicious meal and it smelled SOOO GOOD! It was hard not to steal any for myself.  Brendon smoked 2 beer can chickens, I made a salad, cheesy potato casserole, and pecan pie.  The pie looked picture perfect! But Olivia has other plans.  WE all know she hates riding in the car in the evening time.  I even tried to get someone to ride in the back seat with her- but no one wants to volunteer to ride with a crying baby.  So I decided to give it a try on my own.  We got in the car and I had to stop for gas- little crying there.  Then when we left the gas station more crying and it was really raining.  So I turned on the radio and there was all this bad weather.  I got to the Kroger and made the decision to turn around.  I had no idea the weather was going to be bad and with her crying it wasn't worth the stress.  Olivia knows best though and it was best for us to go home!

Chickens... I cannot get the picture to rotate! Grrr...

9 Months Old and Hope

*** Warning this is a bit long! ***

Today Olivia turned 9 months old! We can't believe it.  Time is just flying.  We took Olivia for her 9 month check up today and all was well.  The Mittendorf's dot that the doctor saw at the 6 month check up went away.  Her ears were good and so was everything else.  We can't believe how fast she is growing.  She has grown 10 inches since she was born- that is crazy!

Here are her stats:
Height: 28 inches (She grew 2 inches from her 6 month appointment)
Weight: 18 pounds 7.5 ounces- just shy of 18 and 1/2 pounds (She gained a little over 2 pounds)
Head circumference: 44 3/4 cm (gained 1 and 1/4 of a cm)

At 9 months she can do the following things:
* Crawl
* Pull to a stand on flat objects and objects with a ledge
* Stand in her crib
* Stand and let go with one hand
* Crawl up stairs- with an adult behind her
* Take a few steps with support
* Say, "da da", and today we think she is now saying, "up"
* Holds her bottle about 80% of the time when she is feeding- she is drinking about 24 oz of formula a day
* Eats 3 meals a day- breakfast- fruit/oatmeal, lunch- yogurt or try a new food, dinner- veggies/oatmeal
* Loves to take a bath and knows the routine of taking a bath- lights go off in bedroom, crawl to bathroom, take bath, blow dry, jammies and then a bottle

Things we are working on:
* Waving
* Eating finger foods- pincher grasp hopefully will improve- doctor said not to worry
* Table foods- doctor said to try more table foods
* Saying more words
* Getting teeth! The two bottom teeth are breaking through- FINALLY!!

Waiting for the doctor!
Big,  happy girl on the scale!
Trying to get her to hold the sign!

Stuck it to stroller instead!

I do not like it there mommy!

Really?

I love the recycle bin and no I am not licking my fingers after touching it!
Jake... always a sad pup... =(
Crawling action!

Finally... Hope.. I stumbled across some friends praying about a baby named Hallie.  It is a truly amazing story and you must check out their family blog.  I do not know these people personally but it is a friend's niece and I think have some friends who are friends with them.  But truly an incredible journey and this little miracle baby needs lots of prayers.  Please take a moment, read the blog, they have a Facebook page also just search for Hope for Hallie, and say a prayer.  The family is overwhelmed with how many people are praying for their little one and their family. Keep praying because God does perform miracles!

Here is the link to their blog   http://thelittlegreenfamily.blogspot.com/

The family is loving seeing pictures of support for Hallie! You can post them on their Facebook page.

Santa's Magic Pen

Last year my mom gave us this great book.  It is called Santa's Magic Pen.  Inside the box there is a book with a story about the magic pen and the pen.  Inside the book is a place to write letters to Santa and keep them from year to year.  Tonight I read Olivia the story and we (well I) wrote her 1st letter to Santa.  I can't wait to fill the book up in the future.  What a great tradition to start!
