Not acting myself

I was not acting myself today.  I did not want to drink my formula today.  This morning I drank 4 oz- daddy got a little more before my nap.  Then after Gymboree I ate about 4 oz.  Mommy and I came home and I didn't want to drink it but she put me in the high chair and I finished 3 more oz.  I did not want to drink my 5:00 p.m. bottle either- mommy tried the high chair trick again and I ate some of it- she even tried to trick me with a sippy cup of formula- didn't work.  I did not drink my bed time bottle at all!! But I did eat my solids good today- I ate everything! Mommy says she is prepared to wake in the middle of the night because she knows I am going to be hungry.  Mommy also hoping/thinking there might be another tooth coming in.  I know she is frustrated when I don't want to eat.  She even talked to some of her other mommy friends and asked them what to do! She is so grateful to have other mommy friends to talk to and ask questions.

Other than that I was a pretty good girl today.  I took a nap this morning.  We went to Gymboree and I played with my friends and I rode in the car good.  I did lots of playing and standing and I am even practicing letting go and standing on my own- for like a second or two and then I just fall on my bum!

Off to bed I go with no bed time formula....

3 Kings Day

Olivia and I celebrated 3 Kings Day with our Gymboree friends.  Our friend Liliana hosted the event at her house with moms and babies.  It was fun to see all the babies playing together.  Liliana even made crowns for all the babies.  It was really cute.  We had fun.  The best part was that we had rosca de reyes which has the  tradition of placing a bean, candy or figurine doll of the or Christ Child inside the cake. Whoever finds it must take it to the nearest church on February 2, Candelmas Day (Día de la Candelaria). People who find the figurines in their piece of the cake usually agree to host a party on February 2 and to provide the guests with tamales.  Well I found one baby and Michelle found the other.  We are going to have a party on February 10th and make tamales...I have never made them before but there is a first time for everything!

Here I am with my crown on

One more cheesy song

Stumbled up on this... doesn't really matter who sings this song...still an oldie but goody... Fast Car but this time by Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry.

Song that melted my heart today

I know super cheesy to post a song but as I was driving home today listening to Lady Antebellum I just about fell part listening to this and peeking in the mirror watching Olivia snoozing. I love the 2nd verse because I feel that time is moving way too fast! Time you are a thief that I would like to rob!

Here are the lyrics for the second verse...I thought about this last week as I was up early and just taking in the sounds of the morning with Olivia. Everyone knows that this house doesn't operate without coffee in the morning!

I leave him sleepin' as I rise early
Always up before the dawn
The house is dark, but I see clearly
Kettle sings a morning song
The bacon's frying, babies crying
I soak up the sights and sounds
Minutes turn to days and I wish that I could slow it down

If grease is the soul of the kitchen
And coffee the drink of the Gods
Routine too perfect to mention
Time is a thief I would rob

Skinny Jeans/Jeggings for babies?!?

Skinny Jeans and jeggings for babies- crazy right? Well I put on Olivia's outfit this morning and I thought the pants were just like any normal pants she has.  I guess the last time she wore this outfit I had the wrong pants on because I thought they looked too big.  Boy I was wrong- these pants were skinny jean/jeggings.  I had a rough time getting them on and off of her today.  I had to admit they did look cute but they are just way to tight and thank goodness she had something under her shirt or should would have been showing some plumber's crack.  I don't think she was the biggest fan of them either.  Well Olivia darling, mommy isn't a fan of wearing skinny jeans herself, therefore you won't have to wear them if you don't want too.

Olivia playing the toilet drum

Day 2- lack of sleep

Again Jake kept us up last night.  I really think he was just hungry and thirsty or he is still mad at us for moving his crate.  I ended up sleeping on the couch and it was freezing downstairs.  I had PJs, a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a Snuggie on (which I didn't realize) it was dark when I grabbed a pile of blankets, and 2 blankets.  I slept with Jake on the couch from 2ish until 5:30.  Not the most restful night of sleep for the 2nd night in a row.  Thankfully Olivia didn't wake up when he was crying.  Jake seems better today. He ate and drank water with no problem tonight.  I just hope we all sleep tonight. We all deserve a good night's rest.

poor Jake!

Finally discovered she could pull up on the toilet... and it makes a loud noise if you bang on it!

Shades of Gray

Whoa... we had a rough night and not because of Olivia.  Jake was acting a little not like himself yesterday and was kind of sulking and limping around.  We thought he may have hurt himself jumping off our bed or something.  Well last night about 2:10 a.m. I heard crying from downstairs.  Jake has this weird screamy/whiny howl.  He had been doing that since we moved his crate for the Christmas tree.  But he just wouldn't stop.  So I went and checked on him and he got sick in his crate! Yuck... nothing like cleaning doggy throw up in the middle of the night.  Then we put him back in there and about an hour later he was howling again.  So I had Brendon go sleep downstairs with him since I hadn't fallen back asleep from the first time.  Needless to say it was a long night.  After I left for work Jake got sick a few more times and Brendon ended up taking him to the vet.  The vet didn't see anything really wrong...poor guy! So the vet said no water for 12 hours and no food for 24 hours.  I gave him a little water a little bit ago and he seemed really thirsty! Hopefully he will keep it down and feel better soon!  Olivia had a wonderful trip to the vet today!  She also wore gray today and it looked so cute on her.

There were 2 cute moments today:

1. Jake was lying on the floor and Olivia crawled over to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead! So cute!

2. While we were playing in her room she crawled over to her book case and took 2 books off the shelf and started looking at one by herself! It was so cute!!

It is hard to get pictures of her now since she won't sit still!!

Checking out her Big Bird book

About to chomp down...

9 month pictures and fun with dad

Here are some snapshots from Olivia's 9 month pictures. Thank you to Tammy of lastingmomentsbytammy for taking some great shots!

Today I also went back to work and Olivia hung out with daddy.  We watched the Georgia game and we were so sad that they lost.

Watching football with daddy

Messy green bean dinner and she tried a little bit of sloppy joe- we also got a delivery of football jersey cookies made by Kristy!
