Daddy's Bike Race

Today I got to go see my daddy in a bike race. Mommy really tried to get it all planned out so that we would either get to see daddy start the race or see him finish his first lap. We made it just in time to see him finish his first lap. He was so happy to see me!! He was all sweaty. Mommy hooked up my stroller with 2 fans since it was so hot. Everyone commented on my setup. I admit it was pretty sweet. I got to hang out with daddy's team- Cop a Feel and our friends team Team Meat. Team Meat is pretty sweet with their new spirit wear. I was a pretty good girl for not taking a nap and then I got all fussy after about an hour or so. Mommy knew I was tired plus I pooped...gross. Mommy hates when I poop in public! I can't help it...I am a baby.

So mommy brought me home and I napped. Then I ate, played, and napped again. Finally I ate again and mommy put me back in the car. Back to the bike race we went! I got to see my daddy get a medal- his team got 2nd place. I was so proud of him. He even let me touch the medal and get on his bicycle. He can't wait until I am on a team with him. It was a fun day. Mommy and daddy were so proud that I was so good in the stroller and with all the people looking at me!

XOXO
Olivia

A Hot Friday

Whoa... the temperatures soared today. We were miserable last night though. When I got home from curriculum night Brendon shared the bad news that the air conditioner was not working upstairs. So I checked on Olivia and it was way to hot in her room, so we decided that we were going to sleep downstairs. We got the pack and play all fixed up for her and brought her down and I don't even think she woke up. We slept on the pull out couch. I made it until about 1:00 a.m. and then went to the bed to sweat it out. Thankfully the air conditioning got fixed this morning.

Olivia went to her Physical Therapy appointment. She does indeed have Torticollis. But she has a mild case. She is able to turn her head to the left but when she turns it to the right she doesn't turn it all the way, she instead lifts her chin up to look like she is turning. We need to continue the stretches we were given and we were also give some strengthening exercises. So hopefully that will help. We think she will have to go once a week and then taper off to once a month.

We are excited to go see Brendon tomorrow at his bike race! Olivia will be such a good cheerleader for Brendon.

Multitasking...which toy?

Stretch it out....

Big Brother Jake

Jake has been such a good and patient dog over the past 5 months. We love him to pieces and was our first baby. In the past few weeks Jake and Olivia have truly "discovered" each other. Olivia will follow him with her eyes as he enters and leaves the room. Jake does drive by licks and will lick her toes and hands. He also will check for her in her bedroom and peek in her crib. We are glad they they love each other and Jake has finally accepted he is not the only other baby in the house.

No crying!

Finally today after 3 sessions of Gymboree there was no crying! Olivia was so focused and fascinated today during class. I was such a proud momma! She did such a great job during all the songs and playing on the equipment. She loves this kind of half mooned shaped rocker! I am sure this was a one time deal of no crying...I am sure it will return next week!

Olivia also tried squash today. She loved it.

Jail, an Earthquake, and One Tired, Sick Mommy

Mommy didn't feel so good last night. She said her throat was hurting. Then she didn't sleep well last night because her nose was stuffed and she made the mistake of having hot tea before bed and then took a Claritin D. So mommy did not feel good this morning. She dropped me off at daycare and went to work. Several of her students were not feeling well either. Mommy doesn't get it. Last year when she was pregnant with me she made it to the week before I was born before getting sick. Weird...

Mommy took me to the Walton County Jail today. I was such a good girl. We waited patiently for the person to check the car seat. I was so good. I was looking at all the people in the lobby and I loved the big tree. Mommy was going to take my picture there but she got scared when she saw surveillance cameras there. She didn't want us to get in trouble. While we were waiting we got to see some interesting things. A gentleman came in and got his ankle monitor off. Mommy said that is very bad and that I never want to have that kind of bracelet. The gentleman literally did a hop in the air and a fist pump because it was off. Then we saw a lady come in with some paperwork and she had on red fuzzy slippers. I kept staring at the slippers. I thought they were Elmo. But mommy says you shouldn't wear your red slippers to the jail at 2:00 in the afternoon, plus her feet had to be hot- it was 90 degrees outside. Finally we got all checked out and they said the new car seat was correct and helped fix the old one with a pool noodle!

I guess when we arrived at the jail there was an earthquake. Mommy and I didn't feel it but I guess I could say I survived an earthquake ?!?!?!? Probably not....

I hope my mommy feel better tomorrow. I did not nap for her this afternoon and I should have so she could have rested too. Mommy hopes that I don't catch her cold!

XOXO
Olivia

An Early Monday

Today started early. We had to take Olivia to our daycare person. She was a happy camper when we woke her up. She relaxed for a bit, ate, and then of course she pooped before we left. She was NOT a happy camper with Ms. Kelly today. She was a little fussy so Ms. Kelly put her in the stroller and took her for a run. She fell asleep on the run and then slept in the stroller for a bit! After that she was better. I think she just missed us. She ate really well today which was good since we were off our regular routine.

We did not get to the car seat check today- they canceled on us. So we are rescheduled tomorrow.

This is my leg- just so you know. I just found them yesterday.

5 Months Old

Mom says that now that I am 5 months I have to help with laundry...

Testing out the stroller today to see if I am big enough to use it without the car seat. I fit!

Yesterday I put Olivia on the scale and it said she weighed 15 pounds! Today it said she weighed 14.5 pounds.

After my oatmeal and sweet potatoes!

We can't believe that Olivia is 5 months old today!! She is growing so fast and changing so much. Each day we see something new and she learns something new!

Here are some things she can do at 5 months:

1. Sleep through the night. She has been doing this for about a month. Maybe once a week she gets up during the night.

2. Eating solids- well she finally has gotten the knack of cereal- rice and oatmeal. We think she likes the oatmeal better. She tried sweet potatoes so far and it is going good.

3. Rolling over. Olivia can roll over both left and right from her back to tummy. We are still working on from tummy to back.

4. Found her feet. She finally found her feet about 2 weeks ago and they are fascinating to her. Today she was also looking and touching her leg. It was funny.

5. Sit with support. We are really working on the sitting. She can sit with support and can sometimes sit on her infant pillow.

6. Loves to stand. This girl just loves to stand with support. We can hold her hands or her trunk and she will stand.

7. Playing by herself. She is finding her own entertainment. Whether it be in her bouncy seat, exersaucer, infant pillow, or play mat- she can play for about 20- 30 minutes without any fussing. Some days are better than others though. We are always VERY close by to watch her.

8. Finding her voice. Olivia is really finding her voice. Sometimes she sounds like a dragon and sometimes it is loud like singing. Today I would make a sound and then she would make a sound almost like echoing. We keep saying "Mama" and "Dada" to her hoping that one day it will come out.

9. Master of drooling and spit up. Olivia can drool better than Jake. She loves to put lots of things in her mouth and chew on them and drool. Spitting up is such a fun experience. I have learned not to wear any good clothes anymore- why bother- they just get spit up on them anyways. Burp cloths have become part of our fashion statements. Some days she hardly spits up and some days there is a lot.

10. Loves her mommy and daddy. It is such a delight to see a smiling face every day when she wakes up or notices you come home. She instantly calms when one of us pick her up and loves to play with us. She loves being sung to and read to by us.

Here you go Grandma... I finally built the toy box!! It is great! We love it!

See we already have some toys for it!
