Daddy's Bike Race and Picnic

Today daddy did a solo bike race at Harbins Park.  It was a 3 hour race.  Mommy and I got to the race just in time to see daddy finish.  He was really close to the cut off time of 11:30.  He got a flat tire so he was upset that he lost time.  We were proud of him though!

After the race we found a shady spot and we had a picnic.  I love picnic!! Whenever we have picnics I eat a lot! Mommy said maybe we should have picnics all the time since I ate so good.  I had some cheese, 1/2 peanut butter sandwich (I ate every crumb of it), cucumber and carrots with dip, watermelon, some of mommy Cheetohs, and finally some cookies.  I was hungry!

After the picnic we came home and daddy and I took a nap.  Mommy went running and to the store.  After nap and snack I played in my sandbox.  I had such a fun day!!

Clean Floor and d-o-g spells dog

Today was the last official day of work.  I got everything turned in and to the correct place.  Malissa and I have all of our stuff moved and will unpack it later.

My goal in the next few weeks is to clean.  In the past 2 months cleaning has gone by the wayside.  I started today.  Olivia's toys downstairs are everywhere!! I think we are both tired of stepping on things and junk being everywhere! So I stopped at Target, bought a shelf with some baskets and voila... a clean floor.  I still have some odds and ends to put away...but looks soooo much better already! I have inspired some people at work to clean too...I call it decrapitizing!!

Tonight while reading Dogs, Dogs, Olivia first said her name correctly.  The book is autographed and it says, "To Olivia, Woof!" So she said aloud what it said and the O in Olivia came out.  Usually it is just Livia but tonight was Olivia.  Then I always spell the word dog for her when we read the book.  Tonight she pointed to each letter and said, "D- O-G spells dog!" Yay so proud of her!

Now to start summer vacation...I may watch tv or read a magazine...or throw out more junk! 

Walking, Hitting, Practice Fishing

Olivia, Brendon, and Jake went a walk for today on the street.  I think they had a good time.  Olivia made a panting face for Jake when I asked her about the walk.  Then Olivia and Brendon played some baseball.  Brendon finally got her to hit off the tee!!





Finally they practiced some fishing.  Brendon wants to teach her how to cast with her fishing pole.  It looks like they had a fun day today while I was working.  One more day!

Last Day of School!

Yipee!!! Today was the last day of school with students!! This year was a whirlwind.  I can't believe I taught 2 totally different grade levels! Craziness!! We had a great and fun day today.  We had lunch on the lawn, the kids played games, and the day ended with the 5th grade walk.  Fun times.  Two more days of teacher stuff to do and then summer vacation.  I can't wait to spend lots of time with Brendon and Olivia, run, swim in the pool, and have lots of fun.

We had fun tonight with our Gymboree friends! Olivia is jumping pretty well and now rolling...rolling down the ramps.  She even knew what ramp NOT to roll down.  It was a fun day...but boy am I tired!!

Daddy's Garden Helper

Olivia and daddy had a busy day today.  They went to Gymboree since they missed yesterday.  Then they had lunch.  After lunch they went outside and Olivia helped Brendon with the garden.  I think she helped water the plants.  It was so hot out today.  I really wish we could wear shorts to work when it is this hot.  Tomorrow is the last day of school with students! Yipee!!

Doctor, Haircut, and some Pool Time

Olivia had to visit the doctor this morning.  She has had some bumps on her arm and they won't go away.  Then she got 1 larger bump.  Well the doctor says they are just bug bites and to keep putting Cortisone cream on them.  I have been doing that for about 2 weeks and if anything it has gotten worse.  I will wait another week and see what happens.

After school today we stopped at CVS to get some things, Olivia rode around in one of those carts that has a car on the front.  She loved it.    Then I took Olivia for a haircut.  Just the bangs again but I am thinking with the heat she may need a real haircut soon.  She was great.  She sat in the Barbie jeep and was so good. 

When we got home we were so hot!! I told her that we were putting on our bathing suits and going swimming.  Our big pool is still chilly but I got out her little baby pool.  The one bad thing about our yard is there is not a flat spot! Especially a flat spot where the hose would reach.  So I was dying so sweat by the time it was all set to go.  We had a fun time.  She loved splashing! We needed to cool off!

Storms

This morning we woke up with some big booms.  The thunder woke up Olivia and she cried.  This is one of the things that scare her.  We ended up going downstairs for a big since it was really windy and the lightning was pretty scary.  We never lost power though which is amazing! Then we all went back to bed...our plan was to go to church...well we all fell asleep and woke up late, too late for church.  It rained off and on today.  I squeezed in a run during rain storms and it was so humid.  I was soaked with sweat.  It was a pretty boring day.  I am really trying to clean out some things which has been put on hold since working full time.  I went through some stuff today and tonight.  Sometimes throwing things away is cathartic.  We have accumulated so much stuff over the years that I really need to get rid of some things. Next week since work is over I plan on cleaning even more!

Olivia said that Lamby was sick this afternoon, she took her temperature, gave her medicine, and had her take a nap.
