Home Depot and Bike Race

Today we were busy.  Olivia and I went to Home Depot this morning for their FREE Kids Workshop.  It was fun.  We made a flower pot holder.  She did great and even wore the Home Depot apron that we got to bring home.

Then we zoomed off to daddy's bike race and we were there the rest of the day! It was really fun and warm!  Daddy and his team had a great bike race! They even came in 1st place! Go Team Meat!

First time consigning

It is time to start letting go of stuff... so I decided to sell some of Olivia's baby stuff at a consignment sale this weekend.  It was a difficult decision to do this but it is time.  Sorting through clothes, inspecting them for hidden stains, tagging them, pinning the clothes to hangars, took quite a long time.  Plus since it was my first time I made a spreadsheet of all the items that I am selling to make sure I get everything back and tally what was sold.  I priced a lot of items probably too low...but at this point want to get rid of the stuff.  So if you are reading this and know someone that is having a baby especially a baby girl...please let me know....I would rather sell to someone I know.

Shopping and Drawing

I told Olivia yesterday if she did a good job eating breakfast and lunch we could go to the store and she could use some money from her piggy bank to buy something.  I needed to go to the Dollar Tree anyways for some silly straws...so we took $1.08 out of her Curious George bank.  It was interesting to watch her.  I had to remind her that she was only getting ONE thing.  First she picked up chalk, then we walked down the aisle more and then she traded the chalk for a coloring book, then traded the coloring book for some Elmo books, then finally decided on a 100 piece farm puzzle.  So that is what she really wanted, so she bought it.  She gave the cashier her money that we put in a Ziploc bag, and the cashier kindly put her puzzle in her own bag and she carried it to the car.  She could not wait until after her nap to put it together.

After her rest we sat at her picnic table and I put it together.  She was good at matching some of the pieces and liked watching me put it together. 

After some after dinner soccer we came in and used the easel and this is what she drew...a snowman!  It is Olaf from Frozen...can't you tell??

Change

Change...it is inevitable.  Today was a little too much change at once. 

I have been struggling a lot with the thought of going back to work full time.  Some days I am like yes I can do this...other days no way... Well the opportunity to go back full time arose and talking with Brendon about what is best for our family,  I will be going back to work full time.  There are so many pros and cons to this that I could complain on and on but it is what it is.  We will make it work, I will miss and love my husband and child every day but it is just work. One thought in my mind is, in 2 years she will be coming with me for kindergarten!!!

Anywho....I will write more tomorrow about other changes but this was just one of the changes today and I still need to digest it.

But here is something to make me feel better...a whole lot of cuteness at dance class today!

 

 

 

Storms

We had our first wave of storms roll through last night and this morning.  Our weather alert radio went off for the tornado watch.  About 5:20 a.m. the first boom of thunder occurred and woke Olivia up.  Tried getting her back to sleep in the bed for a bit...not sure if that worked or not.  It rained pretty good while I was getting ready for work.  The drive wasn't too bad...off and on rain but nothing too bad.  Then when I got to school there was no power.  The power came on shortly before the kids arrived and it was funny to hear everyone cheer when it went on.  But the rest of the day it kind of cleared up but we are supposed to get another round tonight....fun times!

Frogs....

Oh my goodness....the frogs are out of control.  I am not sure if I even slept last night since there are frogs peeping and ribbiting! Same thing tonight.  Even with the doors closed they are LOUD! Tonight even Olivia complained that they were too loud and she got up once last night....I think because of the frogs! So I am pretty tired and going to try to go to bed soon.  Plus there are some bad storms headed this way too.  What a fun night!

Not so busy Sunday

Today we weren't so busy but we were tired! Olivia woke up at 6:40 a.m. though! But she went back into her bed.  After being in bed quiet for a few minutes she started reading books.  It was the cutest thing to listen too on the monitor.  She was reading her one book, "Z is for Moose" which is an alphabet book and then the moose gets upset because he wants to be on the M page but they pick a mouse instead...it was funny to hear her make the sad sounds that I make when the moose gets sad in the book!  So cute though!

I went to lunch with some friends and Olivia and daddy went to the store, had lunch, and played some baseball!

Then after rest time we had some sprinkler fun....and then it rained during dinner =(
