Fun Saturday!

What a fun Saturday.  I got up early and went for a run.  Brendon and the crew made blueberry pancakes for breakfast so when I got home I ate one too! Yummy!

After breakfast the girls went shopping at Kroger.  Olivia did such a great job shopping! Then we came home and put all the groceries away and had lunch.  Then since the weather is going to be yucky tomorrow and we couldn't make it to any egg hunts, we had out own Easter egg hunt at home.  It was lots of fun! She did a great job and found all the eggs and was excited to open them and she ate a little chocolate.

After her nap we played outside since it was warm.  Then Olivia helped Mema make a dessert.  Then we made a bunny craft and ate dinner.

So much fun = overtired!

We had a pretty fun day today.  We woke up early and had breakfast.  Then Brendon went for a bike ride and Olivia and I played Play Doh for a pretty long time...like 45 minutes.  In toddler life that is forever.  It was great to see her playing and trying all the different tools.  Then I tried to put her down for a morning nap since we were going to the airport and that just didn't happen...crying and screaming! So barely a nap today.  When Brendon got home I went to the store and went for a run.  Then we got ready to go to the airport.  We rode down to the airport and picked up mema and pepa.  She was pretty excited to see them....she ran right up to them.  She was pretty good on the ride home too.  When we got home we played outside for a bit and then had dinner.  By the time all that was over it was bedtime.  All was good until she went to go to bed and then started screaming! She was saying no bed, I don't want to go to bed...fun! Eventually she fell asleep!

Play doh fun!

Busy Wednesday

We had such a busy day today! Olivia had a fun Easter Egg hunt at Susan's house (which I missed...which made me feel like the worst mom ever!) But she was so happy to have her bucket with eggs!

We then zoomed to the mall and had dinner with Ethan, Griffin and their mommies before Gymboree.  The kids did really well sitting and eating together.  Lauren came to the rescue with milk for Olivia and all was good!

Then we zoomed down the mall to Gymboree and had fun! The theme was baseball!! I was probably more excited than Olivia. She did hit the ball off the cone...very gently.  But it was cute.  Gotta work on that holding of the bat.

Then we zoomed on home and had crying most of the way home.  Olivia did not have her lamby which made her upset.  I tried to explain that lamby was at  home with Jake.  That did not fly...she wanted lamby and wanted her that second.  Too bad we were like 10 minutes from home.  So 10 minutes of crying in the car = forever.  Which by the time we got home we were both miserable!

The crying even continued after we had lamby in hand.  At that point I just ate a piece of cake! So she sat in my lap...I found her new Highlights book and read that to her and ate cake and then she stopped.  But then she started again in the bath tub! I decided Charlie Brown needed to rescue us...the Easter Beagle made everything alright!

I can't do it and I don't want it!

Well my weekly email went from your baby, to your toddler, to know your preschooler! Yikes! Olivia is growing up so fast!

Here are her 2 most recent sayings- I can't do it or I don't want it.  This goes beyond the usual no! She will say she can't do things...or help pick them up for that matter.  When she doesn't want something she tells us...which is nice sometimes but other times not so much!

Sorry so short for tonight but I have lots of school stuff to do! This full time working is no joke!

2 Year Doctor Visit

This afternoon we took Olivia for her 2 year well appointment.  I spent some times yesterday filling out all of the checklists they do for the appointment.  We were mostly able to check yes to most of the items.  A few were not yet or sometimes.  Olivia did great standing on the scale but she did not want to be measured so they had to measure her on the table.  She weighed in at 24 pounds and 34 inches.  She gained 2 pounds and 2 inches since her 18 month appointment.  Then the nurse did a finger prick to get some blood to test iron levels and cholesterol (yes cholesterol at 2 years old).  She was fine at first but then she saw the blood and the nurse squeezed it and then she started crying! But we got her settled down and waited for the nurse practioner.  Her iron level was 13 and cholesterol was 138 which the nurse practioner said was great.  She did the usual things of checking ears, heartbeat etc.  Then she had her do a task- string beads on a string.  At first she didn't want to do it or even talk.  But after she was left alone she picked it up and did it.  Overall we passed with flying colors  and don't need to come back until she is 3.  If we want a 2 1/2 year check up we can but that is up to us.

Church, toys, and dinner

This morning we went to church! It was Palm Sunday so the service started outside. It was a bit misty but not raining too bad.  Olivia was really good at church.  The best part was at the end when we shared it was Olivia's 2nd Birthday and then everyone clapped.  She loves when we clap at the end of church for the celebrations! She was so happy that people clapped for her! When we walked out of mass the priest told her happy birthday.

After church we came home for breakfast and coffee and then put some more of the toys together.  First we did the big blocks.  There were 40 of them.  Brendon and I even had a race to see who could fold one up the fastest... I lost! Then Olivia took a nap.  While she napped I took Kristy out for a run and we had a great time! She did awesome! When we got home I filled out the paperwork for Olivia's 2 year well appointment tomorrow.  Then Brendon assembled her bike! She is a bit shy of touching the pedals...she needs to grow about another inch or so.

We decided to go out to dinner tonight.  We went to Chili's and Olivia did great.  Even though she played musical chairs she did great eating and drank from a kids cup with a straw.  It was a pretty good dining experience!

Checking out her bike!
