Park and Tap Dancing!

Today we met Susan at the park for some play time =) Olivia had so much fun seeing Susan and her friends!

After lunch, a quick swim, and rest time, Olivia started her new dance class.  The class she was in last week was REALLY full so they asked us to switch and start the next class called First Steps which is ballet and tap.  We already had tap shoes that I picked up at a consignment sale and we tried them on and Olivia was all excited!! So we found a little back pack to put her shoes in today and we were ready to go!

Switching shoes

We ended today by painting our toes!

Encopresis

So it isn't just Olivia being a stubborn pooper....she has Encopresis.  After waiting lots at the doctor she confirmed it and also gave us a referral for the GI to make sure nothing else is wrong.  Probably the worst part of it today, I had to give her an enema...I never imagined doing things like this in my life! So we have had an eventful afternoon and evening.  Thankfully our doctor prewarned me to have her wear Pull Ups...we have gone through a lot of them.  We went to soccer practice and even had to have a change there.  Thankfully it wasn't too bad...but still embarrassing! So the plan now is to increase her Miralax to a whole cap full and clean her out.  Hopefully one enema is enough and the increase in Miralax helps it....never a dull moment! But July 9th is a far away....that is when we see the GI.

Pooping Problems

Yep...you read that right...we have a pooping problem...well Olivia does.  Ever since we started her potty training last year pooping has been an issue.  She never had any problems before potty training.  We have thought she was scared for the longest time and tried several remedies- Miralax, increasing fiber, probiotics, suppository (last resort)...but nothing is really helping.  I am pretty sure she has Encopresis....google it...I won't explain it...it is gross...it is even gross that I am writing about it, but we have been dealing with her trying to go since Friday.  So tomorrow I am calling the pediatrician...I am just out of trying things that are not working.  I am hoping we get an appointment (Mondays are ALWAYS busy) to get this figured out.  It is painful to watch her struggle and so frustrating for us as parents...Olivia and I both shed tears about this over this past weekend.  I am ready for it to be over....

Boring Friday

Nothing really exciting today....kind of a boring day.  Went and got some groceries with Olivia and then we came home.  We ate lunch and did some stuff...started working on her closet project. This summer I eventually want her closet to become more functional...store more toys etc.  So I am going to take the doors off of it (yes I will save them for the future) and hang curtains.  This will allow her more access and get all the toys etc off the floor in her room.  I moved the too big shelf from the bathroom into her closet today.  I still have lots to do in the closet- some cleaning and organizing.

Here's kind of some ideas I was looking at...still lots of planning and organizing! It is a work in progress and will post some photos...right now it looks like a hot mess!

Dental appointment and Gymnastics

This morning we went to have Olivia's teeth checked out from her fall yesterday.  They actually call it a trauma which makes me feel even worse.  Olivia did so good at the dentist.  At first she didn't want to sit in the chair but then got in it.  They did 2 x-rays and the dentist did some good and thorough checking.  They did not wiggle- good sign! On the x-ray I could see the shift in the teeth.  Both front teeth did shift but there is no root damage- yay! The dentist said the teeth may discolor but she wasn't sure.  Then we need to watch for infection.  She said if we notice any pimple like things by the teeth then she has an infection and the tooth would have to be removed.  So happy that she is ok! Still scary and hate the word trauma.

She has been fine all day.  We were instructed a week of soft foods and no biting into things with the 2 front teeth.

She went to gymnastics tonight and was fine and had fun!

I found this cute video on Brendon's phone...super cute from their date night! I am not sure why it is sideways though!

Big Boo Boo

Today everything was going so smoothly.  Went for a run this morning, Olivia and I did some shopping at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Aldi's.  After lunch we went in the pool.  Then another no nap day....this is 2 days in a row.  I hope napping isn't over for us.  Olivia is so much more refreshed when she gets a nap.  So we went back in the pool and made dinner.  After dinner Olivia was playing with her big purple bouncy ball we got from Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.  Kristy was visiting and all of a sudden Olivia likes to be a show off in front of her.  She was running and bouncing the ball all over and I told her to slow down several times.  Well she went to go reach for the ball and missed and landed on her face.  SCARY! VERY SCARY moment! I ran and grabbed her and Kristy and I ran in the house.  Lots of blood and her front right tooth was bleeding a good bit.  Thank goodness it is not wiggly.  I called the dentist and they want to see her tomorrow morning.  Her lip is pretty yucky looking too.  I hope she is ok.  Dentist thinks that we have shifted the root of the tooth but still wants to see.

Lots of prayers I survive the appointment...I hate teeth...they are just yucky to me.  Prayers for Olivia because I hope she is ok and I hope it isn't too painful at the dentist tomorrow for her.  I know she is going to be sore in her mouth tomorrow.

From now on she will be wrapped in bubble wrap to play outside!

Project Done!

We think we finished our landscaping project! We want to see what happens when it rains....the one corner at the bottom looks a little low but we will see what happens with the true test of rain.  I don't know how Home Depot says you can do this in one day....maybe our path is much longer than people do.  Those people that get it done in one day must have all their stuff delivered and ready to go.  So glad we got this done.  It was a little crazy at times with Olivia "helping" at times, a fall on the pavers, and the she tipped the wheelbarrow over....but it was a great family project!
