Olivia playing in her pajama drawer

One more day until birthday!

I think I am probably more excited than Olivia is for her birthday.  I am one proud mommy! Today I baked some cupcakes and a smash cake for her tomorrow.  So I am excited about that! I felt a little sad when I opened what I hope is the last container of formula just a few minutes ago.  I hope we get the go ahead for milk on Thursday after our doctor's appointment.  But I won't feel sad when I don't have to buy it anymore- formula is expensive!

I still can't believe one year has gone by.  We have learned a lot this year. A lot of it is just learning on our own and just figuring it out.  We are so happy for all the new people that have come into our life because of Olivia.  She truly is a blessing and a miracle to us.  We are so proud of all that she has accomplished and what a little silly head she is becoming.  She loves to laugh and giggle.

Stay tuned for tomorrow for lots of birthday fun!

Hey Daddy!

This is how mommy gets to bake in the kitchen!

Week 52

Today I took Olivia for her 1 year pictures! She actually did a pretty good job! We got some smiles so I can't wait to see how they turn out.  It was another hot one today and the pollen count was over 8,000.  No that is not a typo- 8,000.  So I decided to keep Olivia inside today.  Her runny nose seemed better today so I thought an indoor day would be fine even though I was dying to go outside.  Here are some pictures from today and then an email that I got this morning that I have gotten every week since Olivia was born.

Gotta love my plaid shorts! Daddy did a good job dressing me today!

What do you mean I am not supposed to be in here?

Here is the email I got this morning:

Happy Birthday Melissa!

Congratulations! It's your baby's birthday, and as the mama of your baby, it's yours too. Twelve months ago you and your little bundle were strangers - now you're inseparable. Sweet!

In the past year you've changed at least 3,000 diapers, lost about 350 hours of sleep, wondered whether to call the doc 9 times, wondered how you lived without your baby almost every day and wished you had five minutes to yourself almost as often. As you hurtle full-speed into year two, here's what you can look forward to:

First Words (hopefully "mama" is #1)
Tantrums (yes, your sweet babe will turn into a maniac once in a while)
  Running and climbing (get ready!)
  Potty training (maybe)
  Learning colors, letters...

It's only March but it is HOT!

It was another record breaking day temperature wise.  I am starting to see how our summer may be.  We may have to play early in the morning or after dinner because it is so hot.  We did a lot of playing inside today.  Olivia is getting more confidence with her standing- she stood not holding onto anything many times today.  So we just have to give her more confidence and cheer more for her! She ate really well today and mostly had table food.  Breakfast- Blueberry waffle and banana, Lunch- 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich, turkey pieces, yogurt, and 1/2 graham cracker and Dinner- she scarfed down- sweet potato cubes and corkscrew noodles.  I actually had to get more for her for dinner.  We are down to 3 bottles a day and hopefully after this weeks doctor's appointment we will start having milk!!

This day last year I remember it was really nice.  Brendon and I went for a walk on our street and then all I remember is eating chips and salsa.  Then I woke up in the middle of the night and off to the hospital we went! Crazy that a whole year has flown by!

Olivia's new playing place- the little cubby under the computer. She loves to take the cds and play with them!

After daddy told her no!

Wahoo! Outside time!

I realized on this last shot she is chomping on an inappropriate finger...sorry!

Happy St. Patty's Day and Daddy's bike race!

Today was a holiday.  It was St. Patty's Day! I woke up with mommy today and we ate breakfast.  I ate almost a whole blueberry waffle and some banana! After breakfast we played and mommy got some things together to go see daddy at the bike race.  I took a really good nap this morning.  Mommy and I ate lunch together and then we went to see daddy at his bike race.  I was such a good girl.  I ate some snacks, played, and cheered on daddy! It was really hot though.  We had to stay in the shade.  After the bike race we went to Wal-mart for a few items and then came home.  I did not take an afternoon nap and I was ok. I was a little whiny but not too bad.

Mommy bought me special outfit for today but it was way too hot to wear and we really didn't get any pictures of St. Patty's stuff.

XOXO

St. Patty's Day Party

Olivia went to another party today with her Gymboree friends at Violet's house! It was so much fun!! We love celebrating holidays with our friends! Also tonight Olivia went to the Fish Fry at our church.  She was great! She ate some mac and cheese and played with Kristy and was a good girl the whole time!

Sorry this is so short but a thunderstorm is brewing!
