Hunting Island Day 2

On Tuesday we decided to go to the beach in the morning after breakfast.  Olivia is still not a fan of the water.  We tried several times to get her in.  She would even cry, "Mommy don't go in the water!"  Then she even said, "I just don't like the beach!"  She just doesn't know what she is missing!  So we stayed a bit even though she didn't like it.

Then we had lunch and took a nap.  Brendon rigged up an air conditioner so it was a bit cooler this year.  She slept about an hour and then was SUPER cranky.  She cried/whined for about an hour straight.  Soon we are going to call her Olivia whiner...she was very whiny this trip! 

Then we drove down to the pier and Nature Center.  Olivia loved looking at the fish, turtles, and snakes they have.  Then we walked the WHOLE pier to the end and back. 

Then it was dinner and bath time.  We did visit the playground twice a day...after breakfast and after dinner.  Then we stopped for an ice cream treat and a wagon ride.

Hunting Island Day 1

Not sure if I am going to get all of the posts done of our trip but at least Day 1.

We ventured off about 10:00 a.m. after dropping Jake off at the Pet Resort.  It took a little over 5 hours and we had a few stops for potty breaks and lunch.  Olivia did pretty good in the car.  A bit indecisive at times but she did fine.

We set up our camp and then had dinner.  After dinner we went down to the beach.  The tide was pretty high so we couldn't walk to far.  The tide was really high with the full moon.  Olivia didn't want to get in the water but she did get some shells.

After the beach we gave Olivia a bath.  This year we brought a little plastic tub.  She is not a fan of the shower still but this worked perfect.  Then it was bed time. 

 Olivia did pretty good until the middle of the night.  She woke up and wasn't too happy.  But I think she needed to go potty and then she went and then went right back to sleep.  She even slept until 7:15!

Today while making some brownies I got Olivia to wear her matching apron for about 10 minutes!! She said she wanted to be just like mommy.  Then she wanted to take it off...this made mommy sad. But she at least wore it for the longest time yet!

Brendon and Olivia had a fun time in the pool today.  I could hear Olivia giggling and screaming while I was starting dinner.  Now she can climb up the ladder and then climbs back down the ladder. She is so brave around the pool. 

Regular Ol' Saturday

It was a regular ol' Saturday here.  I went for a run and Brendon went for a bike ride this morning.  I called to check on Mema and Pepa since they  had a bad storm.  Pepa sent some pictures of the tree that got hit by lightning in front of their house.  A HUGE limb came down.  We are so glad they are ok!

We had lunch at the picnic table today and it was great.  After Olivia's nap we went to visit out neighbors.  We ate some delicious brownies! Yumm... they were sooo good.  Then it rained again and we went out for dinner.  Olivia did ok...she ate a little but we went to the potty a bunch of times.  I think she needed to poop- which she did later at home...and in the potty! She was really crabby after that though and cried about...everything.  Guess that is just part of being 2!

Bad night

Had a bad night last night.  Olivia was pretty restless most of the early evening and then she woke up and refused to go back to sleep.  I made the mistake awhile back of sleeping on the floor to help contain her in the toddler bed and now she won't go to bed unless I lay on the "ladybug" pillow.  Well even after comforting her for ever she just wouldn't sleep.  I tried to let her cry and scream it out.  Then she wet her pants, then she threw up a little bit (she said that she did catch up). finally I took her in the spare bedroom bed and went to bed.  She slept until 7:15...we were all very tired today.  Hopefully it was a one night deal...but so frustrating and I know part of it is my fault for laying on that stupid ladybug pillow which is now hidden away. 

Then she had a few hives again this morning.  She has had them off and on since 4th of July.  We will be visiting the allergist in a few weeks to see what is causing all of this.  We know that she is allergic to penicillin but she has not had that since her reaction so not sure what the deal is.

Even though we were up most of the night she only napped for 1.5 hours and we went on a trip to Target and went swimming this afternoon.  Olivia is just like her daddy- even though it is 90 degrees outside, she wanted soup for dinner.  Which is fine and easy for me!

All was forgiven this morning when she drew this picture and said, "That's you mommy!" Love her so much!

Can I have...???

Rough night of sleep last night...another storm rolled through about 10:30...woke Olivia up.  Then she was up again at 4:45ish...ugh...

Brendon and Olivia had some time together while I got my haircut this morning.  Looks like they had fun...

I got home for lunch and Olivia  asked 2 complete questions!! 1. Can I have a chip please? and 2. Can I have a cookie please?  We both were stunned when she asked the questions!

Olivia took a brief nap...1.5 hours...which doesn't give me a lot of time to do much.  Then we had a snack and I really wanted to go in the pool...guess who didn't...Olivia...boo!! I told Kristy that we would be swimming and she could come and visit...well Kristy ended up watching Olivia for 10 minutes so I could go swim.  Thank you soooo much Kristy!

Olivia ate an awesome dinner and earned dessert!

Bedtime Thunderstorm

We had a pretty good day today.  We did some shopping at Aldi's and Sam's Club.  I swear Olivia loves to check out the restroom in every store we go to.  Although I am glad that she doesn't have accidents...sometimes walking all over stores to find the bathrooms and praying that they are clean is the hard work. 

After Olivia's brief nap...I think they are getting shorter and shorter...sniff, sniff...we swam really quick and then got ready for Gymboree.  We had lots of fun tonight.

When we left Gymboree the sky was dark...really dark.  It didn't rain until we got home.  But we had some pretty big booms.  There was one big boom so loud that Olivia jumped and screamed and said she was all done with her snack.  Then it has taken awhile for the booms to go away and a very long time to get her to go to bed.  I hope there are no more storms tonight!
