Valentine's Day

We had a busy Valentine's Day!

Caren and I ran a 15K in the morning...boy was it cold! Caren's piformis syndrome started acting up and my foot has been pretty sore since the race. But we earned our cupcake and medal!

Brendon got up early and made some truffles for me with his little helper!

Brendon and Caren's husband drove together to the Valentine Party at The Davis' house.  The race was about 2 miles from their house.  The girls had a fun time riding together!

Then we had fun at the Valentine Party!

Then we went to a Gwinnett Gladiators game for a Valentine Family Date! Such a fun day!

Big Milestones

In the past week we have had some big milestones:

Can zipper her jacket.
Can button another jacket.
Finally started flushing the toilet by herself again (it scared her for awhile!)
Wrote her first phrase.
Started wiping herself when she has a BM.

And we have a little chore chart for her to earn a quarter every week!

Time needs to slow down!

First Written Phrase

Last Wednesday (February 11th) it was soooo warm!! So after school we played outside for a bit.  Olivia rode her tricycle and then we did chalk.  I told her that we should leave daddy a message.  So I thought I would be doing the writing but instead she wanted to write.  It started with HI which I spelled for her and she wrote and then she wrote daddy.  I had to help with the Y but she totally surprised me!! So proud of her!

Dance Recital Outfit Preview

The book with Olivia's costume has been at the dance studio for a few months.  Olivia never even mentioned to me that she was measured for her costume.  So on Tuesday they got to try on their costumes and show us parents!

This was as good as I could get her to stand still and get her picture.  Sorry my lovely school work made the picture! But so cute! I have a feeling I will be pinning the should straps but it is so cute and even has a matching hair bow! Can't wait to the recital!!

Family Bike Ride

Today we went on a family bike ride.  I got a bike for Christmas but have yet to ride it anywhere but our driveway and up the street once.  So it was beautiful today...the temperature on my phone read 69 degrees.  So it was a great day!
We headed to Athens to the Sandy Creek Nature Center and we rode the North Oconee Greenway.  It was great.  My kind of bike riding since mountain biking is NOT my thing.  It was great to get out in the sunshine! I towed Olivia in the trailer on my bike...the hills were a little tough and I walked just a few times.  We did about 7 miles...my legs are going to be sore tomorrow...I already feel it!

Daddy Daughter Date Day and Night

Olivia and Brendon had some fun yesterday.  First they went to the Home Depot Build it craft.  They built me something for Valentine's Day.  They also needed some odds and ends while they were there. While they were doing that I was doing laundry and grading papers =( I wish I could say I was doing something more glamorous!!

Brendon went on a bike ride and then zoomed home to take Olivia to Chic Fil-a for their Daddy Daughter Date night event.  Reservations are required and they had a good time.  They even got milkshakes!! Then Brendon took her to the playground to play since the play area at Chic Fil-a was a little too big for her.  They had fun though! I hope they continue these dates! I feel it builds such a foundation for a great relationship between them!

She even went on the big girl swings and did it herself!!

Daddy's 1st Bike Race of 2015

Daddy had his first bike race last Saturday. I had to go with him because mommy was running a 10K.  It was pretty chilly but I stayed warm with the heater.  Then mommy came and we had lunch.  Then it got cold again and mommy and I went home and rested! Daddy's team tried really hard but they didn't place.  Team Meat is off to a great start though!
