Writer's Block

Maybe it is working full time.  Maybe it is just not having time.  Maybe it is just trying to find a balance between home, work, and me.  I know I said I was going to get better with the blog...and I just haven't.  I almost feel I have writer's block at times. Maybe it is just lack of time in general.

The blog was started to track our journey and share our story.  I did a really good job until...I am not sure.  I am not sure if I was ever doing a good job at writing.  I am not a writer, author, expert or do anything fancy.  Sometimes just getting words on paper make me feel better.  I don't ever want to hurt anyone's feelings with what I write.  Most of my stuff is personal and it is part of my story and what makes me...well me. Brendon even suggested we change our blog to a camping blog...not sure how I feel about that.  I like my mom journey, because when I get old if I start forgetting, I can look back at this...if the internet still exists!

But I need to ....

and get back into...

that is my goal...

She is 5 and 1/2

Today Olivia turned 5 1/2.  That is just crazy to me.  In six months she will be 6.  She is growing up way to fast.  She is such a problem solver, she has a solution to everything.  She is so curious and wants to know everything. She has such a kind heart for others.  She has no idea how much joy she brings to us, and our family,  She is a true blessing to our hearts and home.

It ain't your first rodeo...well maybe it is

The first week of September we decided to go to the rodeo at Corn Dawgs.  It was interesting to say the least.  There were a lot of rules that I had no idea about.  One bull rider got really hurt and was taken away by ambulance.  That was a little scary! It was fun though.  Olivia and I were both pretty tired since it was on a Friday but we had fun.  It made me miss horseback riding!

Yargo Night Hike

Last Saturday we went to Fort Yargo for a guided night hike.  One of the park naturalists guided the group on the Birdberry Trail and talked about all the things that are in the park- snakes, deer, raccoons, birds, and owls.  It was dark, a little creepy and some spiders.  It was fun though! We had a good time.

Curriculum Night and Career Day

Brendon got to experience 2 kindergarten events.  He got to go to curriculum night since I was doing my own in my classroom and he went to career day this past Friday!  I am so happy to see him involved with Olivia at school.

Being the Flag leader (not on career day)

Gwinnett Braves

We finally made it to a Gwinnett Braves game.  Granted it was the first Friday after the first week of school.  We were tired but we made it.  It was a great night and Olivia was on the jumbotron a billion times.  We left about 9:30- 10 and thank goodness we did.  The game went to extra innings and wasn't over until 11:45!

And there she goes...off to Kindergarten

I can't believe we have a kindergartner.  I am so blessed that I get to take her to school with me.  Even though it has been an adjustment- there are some rules for me and her- she isn't allowed in some places that are just for teachers etc.  but she has been really great! She loves her teachers and is getting used to the school.  I have checked on her at lunch and seen her in the hall a few times.  I love just getting to see her!

But first before school started...registration day. I am so thankful that my mom could take her since I have to be in my classroom meeting my new students!

Then the night before kindergarten...

The first day of school!
