Snowed In!

Well we have been snowed in since Sunday night. School has been closed all week so far and will be closed tomorrow (Thursday). Brendon did make it to work today- it took an hour and a half but he got there. In the 10 years we have lived down here this is the worst snow that we have ever seen.

Cabin fever and nesting has set in. We were able to clean out some closets, shred a lot of old paper, and put together the stroller/car seat. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Barth for that gift.

Lambie was the only thing small enough to fit in the stroller. She was good practice! Jake was not a fan of the stroller...jealous maybe!

Melissa with the stroller getting some practice. Don't mind the pajamas...but that has been the uniform of the week.

The Dresser Arrived and a Friend Joins the Nursery

We received the dresser this week and Brendon was able to put it together! JcPenney even arranged to have the crib picked up from our house when the dresser was dropped off. This was not the original plan but we are thankful they did this. So now Olivia's room is pretty much done for awhile. Little things need to be done so hopefully those will get done!

A Friend Joins the Nursery- Brendon and Melissa decided to pass something else down to Olivia. Melissa has had a stuffed animal since she was a baby- Melissa's mom thinks it was a gift at her Christening. We decided to pass this stuffed animal down whose name is Lambie. Lambie has been through 31 years of happiness, sadness, and has been on many adventures. Even though she is a little tattered and worn, she will be such a wonderful friend and comfort to Olivia.

Melissa is pretty upset that our doctor's appointment on Monday will most likely be canceled due to the winter weather event that may occur Sunday night. If the school system is closed then the doctor is closed =( So we will see when that gets rescheduled. We were really looking forward to seeing Olivia on Monday
Here is the dresser!

More Nursery Updates

Here are some other nursery updates. We hung some pictures on the wall and hung Olivia's name above her crib. We are happy to know that our dresser is on the way and then the room should most likely be done (except for a few minor details) soon!

Also there is one picture from a walk we went on at Tribble Mill Park last week.

A picture frame past down a generation. Melissa's mom bought this for her so we thought we would pass it on to Olivia.

Melissa's good friend Colleen gave us this frame. We just need to update it with pictures of Olivia.

Pictures that match the bedding.

Olivia's name above her crib with pictures and a very helpful Dad that has done a lot of work!

Nursery Update

We got a good start on the nursery the past 2 weeks. We probably would have had all the furniture assembled except we had a snafu with that. JcPenney's decided to send us 2 cribs instead of a chest dresser. We are not very happy with this and the customer service of the store! Hopefully we will get this issue resolved soon.

Here are some pictures of the nursery so far...

Merry Christmas

We hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas. We are very blessed and thankful for what we have received this year. Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas. We have crossed the 24 week mark and are 6 months and a few days. Melissa feels huge and you can definitely tell that she is "showing and glowing."

The start of the nursery!

We started working on the nursery today and got one coat of paint down. It is going to look so good once it is done! But here are pictures of the first coat.

Yes we know it is blue and yes we are know that we are having a girl. But when you have blue carpet and blue walls there isn't much you can do with that. If you scroll down the bedding looks fabulous with this color of wall. For some reason it uploaded the pictures backwards....

Before...ugh... goodbye ugly gray paint!
